Why are you switching to Mounjaro @sallyanne33 ?

I think your decision is understandable @Pushkinini, that sounds awful!

PurpleFlower1983 · 04/03/2024 20:49

I have lost my appetite for alcohol completely which is crazy because I love wine. I still have the odd glass but I really could take it or leave it which is so bizarre to me!

sallyanne33 · 04/03/2024 22:16

@PanettoneSoprano I believe it’s more effective in trials and works in a slightly different way also with supposedly fewer side effects. I’m experiencing nausea on Wegovy even on low doses so thought it would be worth trying this instead.

I decided to treat myself to a glass of wine tonight. Went to the kitchen to get another and came back with a Pepsi Max!

I'm so pleased with this side of Wegovy :)

Edited

I've had a bit more appetite suppression but not massive. Had headache first night then fine.

Just took delivery of my 3rd pen, this time from Chemist4u rather than Boots. I'm so impressed with the service! Ordered on Saturday and it arrived today. The last one from Boots took 13 days and 4 visits to the store! The ordering process was really easy too.

Make sure you Google for a 10% off code for p2u. There is usually one floating around somewhere and I’ve managed to never so far pay full price.

Just turn it to 1mg counting clicks, then turn it back to 0 and do it again counting half as many.

Tailfeather · 05/03/2024 22:34

Hi! Does anyone have a click chart for a 2.4mg pen please?

There’s one on page 14 of this thread

ProfYaffle · 06/03/2024 05:20

Thanks @Crazymadchickenlady - will do.

witte · 06/03/2024 05:32

Thanks I'm on the app and can't get to page 14, it keeps jumping back to the most recent. It's rubbish!

witte · 06/03/2024 05:37

I've found a guide online for anyone else using the app who can't find the chart, it's 37 clicks for .5 in a 1mg pen.

So I've been on 0.25 for 5 weeks now and my weight loss has stalled, I've remained the same for a week and a half despite eating around 1000-1500 cals a day. I'm a bit scared about going up to 0.5 as I can't cope with feeling sick. I need to go up though, don't I? Confused

CactusMactus · 07/03/2024 12:22

Second week of .25 and absolutely no change! No loss of appetite, no reduced cravings, no side effects.... no weight loss!
Does it just not work on some people?

Yes, you need to go up 😊
0.25 is just a starting dose. Many people find it is not effective for weight loss.

Gingerlygreen · 07/03/2024 13:25

I've done my monthly weigh in today (I only weigh every 4 weeks) and have lost another 7lbs so that's 36lbs since November.
I lost half a stone before starting Wegovy so am over 3 stone lighter now.

Tindrum · 07/03/2024 15:11

@Gingerlygreen 😎amazing loss! Amazing stuff. It's taking me MUCH longer to achieve that!

Gingerlygreen · 07/03/2024 16:18

@Tindrum Thank you, I'm lucky that it's working well for me, it's suppressing my appetite with minimal side effects.

Only downside is the cost, I can only afford to buy two more pens, I still need to lose 2 stone so will have to do the last bit with willpower, I'm hoping though that my snacking habit is now cured and I won't start craving sugar again now that I've cut it down to almost nothing.

jay55 · 07/03/2024 16:38

Just started yesterday.
Did well on saxanda stopped 18months ago, lost 30kgs, stopped due to family issues, needing to travel loads etc and it's taken me this long to get ready to get going again.
Ive kept the weight off which is a first.
Hoping the weekly is easier than daily.

No side effects so far, I had terrible acid reflux on saxanda and I'm hoping that doesn't return.

Striving4Better · 07/03/2024 16:44

@jay55 Great to hear of someone who has kept the weight off after losing on these medications.

Wishing you more success with Wegovy.

For some people it doesn't work and it's not really supposed to work until you've got up to 1mg so you wouldn't know if it's working for you or not until a few months.

LemonKitten · 07/03/2024 20:10

I'm loving reading everyone's progress, cheering on those of you doing well, and commiserating with those not doing as well as they hoped.

I did my first dose of 0.25 6 days ago and as I am out tomorrow I weighed this morning and have lost 5lbs.

I have definitely stayed well under 1200 calories most days, and haven't felt hungry until around lunchtime, which is really good for me. Also i haven't felt like snacking at night, which is my downfall.

No sickness or side effects, which I'm happy about.

I don't know how much of the weight loss is down to Wegovy and how much is me being over alert to everything I'm eating because it's all new and exciting, if I'm honest, so will be keeping an eye on how I'm feeling as well as how much I'm losing.

Next week I aim to up my water intake as I really don't drink much apart from in coffee.
