@Pushkinini Sorry to hear it hasn't suited you, at least you've tried it though and don't have to wonder what if.

wevegotthepower · 19/02/2024 22:29

How many calories are people taking a day compared to before?

Are you tracking?

AhBiscuits · 20/02/2024 07:01

I think I'm having about 1000-1200 most days. Generally yoghurt or a banana for breakfast, soup and a roll for lunch and then a normal dinner, but a small portion of it.

Feeling nervous about going up to .5 as I’ve had no bad side effects on .25 would you say .5 hits everyone hard side effects wise or any good stories ?

I was worried about moving up but no problem at all, same with 1.0. I was really nervous, but it was no worse. HTH :)

Im not tracking. My appetite is very reduced so no need. I usually have a sandwich for lunch and a small portion of normal dinner. No breakfast. And that leaves me stuffed

witte · 20/02/2024 09:35

I'm not tracking either. I'm eating very small amounts and have gone right off things like chocolate, crisps and sweets.

Lou4564 · 20/02/2024 09:46

@Annwithout have you noticed and diff in weightloss when moving up each dose? I’m on week 3 of 0.25 and only lost 2 pound feeling deflated. Also did you did much exercise with it. Definitely massive decrease in appetite and food noise

Sadly, the difference I've noticed is losing less weight :(

The last 4 weeks on 1.0 I've only lost 2 lbs :(.

Still, it's a loss and I'm carrying on regardless, hoping and praying it kicks in again. Hardly any appetite suppression for weeks now.
I'm 73 and a lazy-arse, so no exercise as such, just trying to walk more every day and eat less.

Jacci63 · 20/02/2024 12:05

I have now got just under 7 stone to lose so am on around 1450 cals a day. I track cals and also how much protein I have had each day.

anoldcharter · 20/02/2024 15:58

I am tracking about 1000-1200 a day although this last week I have felt hunger for the first time in ages, i've just taken my last 0.50mg today and my 1mg pen has arrived ready for next week, I was contemplating doing a few doses of 0.75mg as it was working so well but now i'm not so sure. I've had a really bad head/sinus cold for the last week too so I wonder if that is having an effect, but i really want to eat ALL THE CARBS :( I was loving the hunger suppression and now I'm worried, especially after reading some of the other posters, that its getting less rather than more effective. I have had no side effects either this week which is unusual?

at this rate I will be upping it to 1mg - watch this space.

@Annwithout and @Lou4564 2lb is still a loss but I think i'd be disappointed too - hopefully it kicks in soon for us all 🙂

Helene2019 · 20/02/2024 15:59

@Lou4564 I've not noticed any difference in rate of weight loss going up a dose.

I'm not sure where people get the expectation that they will have gigantic losses each week or when the dose increases, other than maybe the first week this is not the case. Wegovy gives a cumulative loss slowly over many months. People do end up loosing many stones but over 6 months-1 year.

For me the loss has always between 0.5-1lb a week. The first couple of weeks on 0.25 I think it was 2lbs/wk. I have done 2 months on 1mg pen because of constipation side effects and have been stationary with no loss or gain for the last 2-3 weeks. But I'm doing no exercise or calorie counting - just focusing on healthy food choices trying to get 5 portions of whole fruit/veg in my meals (averaging 3 though!). My plan is to slowly go up in dose and let the meds take the effort, then when I plateau on the 2.4mg I will start to calorie count to stick to 1200 cals and then when I plateau add exercise to try and keep the loss of 0.5-1lb a week to be less strenuous for myself.

Gingerlygreen · 20/02/2024 16:51

I don't track what I eat but it's considerably less than I was, I've cut out snacking all together.

My losses have been consistent on each dose, I lost 10lbs in month 1, 10 lbs in month 2 and 9lbs in month 3.

ProfYaffle · 20/02/2024 17:35

Hello all

I've just gone up to 0.5 and finding it all OK. I'm kicking Boots into touch as their system is so frustrating. Took me 4 visits (2 involving queuing for an hour) to get my last dose and even then it was late, 15 days from my prescription being approved to having the box in my hand Hmm

Where else would people recommend? I'm looking for somewhere with the easiest and smoothest ordering process with minimal pissing about with photos! Grin Thank you!

Pushkinini · 20/02/2024 17:43

I might be back in the game. A whole day and I've not had to dash to the loo once. I've tried to stay bland food wise, so a protein shake for breakfast as I still didn't feel well enough for solid food, tuna and pasta salad for lunch and am planning chicken and veg for dinner.

Going to see how the rest of this week goes and take my last 0.5 on Saturday. If I decide to continue, I'll probably order 1mg but halve the first dose and tweak up slowly as I'm not sure I can cope with these kind of side effects again. The last week has been horrific.

starlilly88 · 20/02/2024 18:31

I only did my first dose last week, some appetite suppression so easier to eat less. I'm a bit confused with the talk about clicks and splitting doses? As I've only used it once, I was paranoid about making sure it was on 0.25 only. And have people done every 5/6 days if no side effects or do you have to rigidly stick to 7 days?

Striving4Better · 20/02/2024 18:38

@starlilly88 Stick to the schedule for now. 0.25 every seven days for at least the first month. Only change your schedule if you need to, such as I moved my injection day from Monday to Sunday as I realised that would suit me better.

Clicks, splitting doses and altering the schedule is an unofficial thing people do, often to mitigate side effects. You won't know how you're going to react until you've done a few weeks. Just soak up the knowledge from others and have it as a tool in your back pocket if you need it.

Just don't up don't go up a dose until you're ready. Having said that, most people go up to 0.5 after their first month.

starlilly88 · 20/02/2024 18:44

@Striving4Better thanks, makes sense. I was hoping to move the dose by a day for when I go away, so I don't have to take it with me through customs. Could do without that extra faff.

I went through Join VOY at the weekend , was approved Monday and it’s due to be delivered Thursday.
Start Weight 14.9 BMI 36
My first pen was £139 all after is 229 unless anyone joins with my referral then we both receive money off. The subscription caught my eye because it’s automatically posted after your third week meaning none of these stock shortages or queuing at boots, Superdrug or Asda etc.
You also get an online coach and access to clinicians included in the price .
If anyone is starting and wants a wegovy buddy let me know.
Also I’m not promoting but I do have a discount code if anyone wants one

That sounds amazing.

ProfYaffle · 20/02/2024 19:17

@Jac2024 I'd be interested in the referral code if you don't mind.

ProfYaffle · 20/02/2024 19:15

That sounds amazing.

I researched for a while and it looked like this was the best option for me as I find it difficult going to the pharmacy as it is.
I tried with my gp but she said most health authorities are not funding any of the GLP1 medications for weight loss which they are annoyed at because they have a really good reputation for working. Ok’d me to go through private (as in health wise nothing to hold me back). Made sure I was looking at reputable companies and not just Sandra at the hairdressers selling injections of god knows what (which I have seen all over face book and tik tok 😱)

Bear in mind this is more expensive than other options

Jac2024 · 20/02/2024 19:28

I figured I’d pay a bit extra once my 0.25 went up as they guarantee stock unlike other providers.
Anyway I’m looking forward to my summers fingers crossed this gives me a little helping hand

Andrasa · 20/02/2024 19:45

The juniper offer is back on too so you can get 25% off your first order with friend25 as a code. Could be financially worth doing that then cancelling and going elsewhere.
