Completely agree with @Gingerlygreen
I think the regain rate across all diets is about 95% This isn't a Wegovy issue, it's the same for every method.

Tindrum · 13/02/2024 14:01

@Gingerlygreen yes you are right. Felt a bit crest fallen because this guy was obvs not trying to be doom laden. thanks for words of reason 😊

edit also thanks @AhBiscuits

Andrasa · 13/02/2024 14:28

GuybrushUlyssesThreepwood · 13/02/2024 11:22

Are you managing to keep the weight off @Andrasa since stopping?

Only though counting every calorie that goes in my mouth. I'd very easily start putting the weight on if I was just 'intuitively eating' or whatever it's called.

Gingerlygreen · 13/02/2024 14:34

Beyonce said that she's a naturally fat person dying to get out, she has to work really hard on her diet and exercise to keep in shape and I think she represents the majority of us, it's the lucky few who can eat whatever they want and stay slim.

Tindrum · 13/02/2024 15:08

That all makes sense to me. My friends who are slim are constantly working at it and definitely don’t eat whatever they like.

AhBiscuits · 14/02/2024 08:54

I had horrific stomach pain this morning, which is just starting to ease. I think it was trapped wind. I did eat a bit too much last night, pasta bolognaise followed by 2 pancakes, which is almost certainly the cause. It was awful.

OP posts:
Pushkinini · 14/02/2024 10:19

I've gone from being constipated to having the most violent diarrhoea overnight. I must have got up 10 times to go to the loo. It's easing a little but I haven't been able to go to work as I don't think I can safely leave the house. It might be a bug as I only had a couple of pancakes for dinner, but I feel rotten this morning. Embarrassingly what woke me up initially was a fart, which wasn't actually a fart. Grim.

Gingerlygreen · 14/02/2024 11:00

@AhBiscuits @Pushkinini Hope you both feel better soon and that it's not Wegovy related although one of the biggest side effects is stomach issues so it could be.

Tindrum · 14/02/2024 13:18

Yes hope you are feeling better. I had gallstone pain last Christmas which was off the scale so hopefully not that. Sounds much more likely to be food related.

Keep an eye on it, this was what I was having after eating a bit much and yep gallstones

Lovesthebeach · 14/02/2024 15:06

@Pushkinini and @AhBiscuits hope you’re both feeling a bit better today!!

Njf · 14/02/2024 16:42

Has anyone got any suggestions for constipation, I'm eating fibre, fruit and veg but just can't go. It's getting uncomfortable now

PrimalLass · 14/02/2024 18:12

Magnesium - think it's citrate or oxide.

Gingerlygreen · 14/02/2024 20:32

@Njf I use Slimatee from Holland and Barrett, it contains senna and I find it gets things moving more gently than a proper laxative which give me terrible stomach cramps then the runs.

It tastes a bit like green tea.

Annwithout · 14/02/2024 22:54

Well, I've fallen off the wagon tonight, most disappointing. All the hype about the "Skinny jab", makes it sound so effortless, yet all these posts, saying, count calories, count carbs, are your portions too big, try fasting. I haven't lost any weight this week, it's not at all effortless. If I was doing, say SW, I would have lost weight this week, then again, I would have given up before now. I guess because we're committed to the jabs, we're committed to carrying on. I completely love Wegovy when it's doing its stuff, cutting out the noise, suppressing appetite, giving zero desire for alcohol, it just it doesn't do it enough :( Hey ho. Picking up my 2nd 1.0 pen tomorrow as no 1.7 available. I've bought extra needles and will use up my old pens to try and make up the difference. Fingers crossed for a better week :)

wevegotthepower · 15/02/2024 00:41

@Annwithout

Keep going. It's a long haul and weight loss can fluctuate massively.

How much have you lost so far and how much do you want to lose?

Aww thank you. I was just on a massive downer, this is far from easy. I've lost 1 stone 5 pounds since Wegovy plus 10 pounds before, so just over two stone. I am so very, very happy to have lost this. I'm still in obese bmi range. Not sure how much more I want to lose, it's more about how I feel in myself. Going on half a stone per pen, and planning on doing 6 months, hoping for another stone and a half. That would be wonderful and as I'm writing this, I'm getting renewed enthusiasm, so thank you again :)

Tindrum · 15/02/2024 07:43

@Annwithout yes keep going! Wegovy has made me realise that I’ve never reached my goal before because on previous diets I gave up after a couple of months because I felt I was giving up too much for the rate of weight loss. Only drinking shakes and eating protein bars or eating no carbs etc. On Wegovy my rate of loss is still slow but at least what you are eating has got a semblance of normalcy and feels healthier. Its effectiveness does fluctuate but it is always there dulling the compulsion to overeat. Besides when we’re no longer taking Wegovy our appetite will be all over the place so it’s good to get some practice in. I’m now fitting in to clothes that seemed impossible last summer and that’s only because I’ve kept plodding on. Yes I’ve whizzed away a fortune, yes others have achieved this much more quickly but if I’d given up i’d be still looking at those clothes in my wardrobe. Keep the faith.

anoldcharter · 15/02/2024 08:29

Stick with it @Annwithout as you say on other diets you might've given in by now.

It's fine to have a wobble and it's hard to read some posts where the weight is literally dropping off people with seemingly no effort, but that's not really the case for most, it's a slow and steady loss without the food noise to distract. I'm counting calories every day because I need this to work once I come off it so need to change eating habits, I know otherwise it'll all just go back on.

Stay strong 💪

Yes, thank you so much! Even falling off the wagon, wasn't as big a fall as it would have been without Wegovy :)

Tindrum · 15/02/2024 08:48

@Annwithout no worries, I had a wobble the other day and people on here were great and got me back on track. So good to have each other’s backs.

whoathisisheavy · 15/02/2024 21:00

Weigh day for me today. Lost 2lbs since last week so I think that is just under 6lbs lost on the .25 pen. I started the .5 this morning so fingers crossed it continues onwards and downwards. Re my previous posts, I've given my head a wobble and will try not to be disheartened by small losses because as so many posters have wisely said, little and often soon adds up.

Hi, have been lurking along time, love the info and seeing everyone’s losses! Started the Wegovy jab on Tuesday, spent the night with extreme reflux so back to taking omeprazole, not sure how this mums net works lol but I just see a comment about taking the pen out of the fridge 30mins before you inject is this what should be done?

I use straight for the fridge. I was first prescribed semaglutide by a bariatric consultant and they never mentioned a wait time before injecting

I like it straight from the fridge so the needle is numbed a bit 😂 it does feel a little weird on higher doses as the liquid going in is also cold, so it depends whether that bothers you.

you don’t need to refrigerate at all once open, it’s personal preference.
