Hi all, long time lurker 1st time poster.
I've been on wegovy 0.25mg for 3 weeks 3 days, lost 11lbs so far.
I've been fine bit of nausea, hard to eat.
Today I'm so shivvery, headache, loose stools. I'm panicking as I googled wegovy shivers 😂 my LO had the squits for 3 days just gone so I'm hoping it's that and forced myself to eat a decent amount today.
Good luck everyone on your journey.

Gingerlygreen · 10/02/2024 18:22

I've decided to stay on 1mg as it's working well plus its cheaper, I've also had an email saying 1.7mg is out of stock and there's a national shortage of it.

So far I've eaten nothing today and aren't hungry, I've got another bad cold which is making me feel rotten, that's two in a month.
I've got some meal replacement shakes in the cupboard from a previous dieting attempt so will have one of those because at least they're nutritious.

Hopefully I'll feel a bit brighter tomorrow after an early night.

PanettoneSoprano · 10/02/2024 18:27

Hi everyone! I haven't posted for a couple of weeks but I've been reading all your updates. It's heartening to hear the results of people who've been on wegovy for a while. I started on 3rd January (5.5 weeks ago) and I've lost 10lbs so far but nothing in the last week which left me feeling a bit disappointed. Like every weight loss attempt I've made in my life, I was full of enthusiasm for the first 2 weeks and was making really healthy choices and trying really hard but I've slipped back into making bad food choices because I know I can't eat much of it anyway so why does it matter. I need to sort it out!

The main issue I am having is that I do a meal plan for the week on a Sunday and write the shopping list, then go shopping on Monday and have everything in the fridge ready for the week. But when I wake up in the morning I'm STARVING but also feel a bit sick so end up eating something rubbish like buttered crumpets or buttered toast. I'm then hungry again mid morning so eat something else at my desk. Then lunch time I feel a bit peckish so will eat the dinner I was supposed to have the night before. Then I feel sick again because I've had too much food. By dinner time I can't even face cooking the dinner I had planned. I've either been bunging stuff in the freezer, or making it anyway and not eating it. Right now I'm making a chilli con carne but it's making me want to throw up. It's sad because I love cooking but it brings me no joy anymore.

I did get a little boost today though. I went out for the day with my husband and daughter and he took photos of me playing with her and sent them to me. I normally look so awful in pictures but I noticed for the first time that my face (and general body) look thinner and rather than immediately deleting the photos I sent them to my parents.

MorphandMindy · 10/02/2024 21:43

Oh I hear you @PanettoneSoprano I also used to love cooking - I find I was buying so much fruit and veg and then couldn't face cooking; and I've ended up binning leftovers I was keeping for my lunches because I wasn't hungry.

I've ended up cooking lots today as we're away for half term and I don't want it all to rot, but at least I have loads in the freezer for when I get back! Not that the kids will eat my prawn noodle soup and mushroom stroganoff...

Sugar craving is definitely back so gone up to 1mg today, about time. I'm feeling much slimmer at the moment while still recognisably myself, but am prepared to bounce back up half a stone as soon as I stop, so I need to lose that much more first!

PanettoneSoprano · 10/02/2024 22:04

I was throwing away a lot of fresh veg and salad too@MorphandMindy as well as pots and packets of this and that because they just weren't getting eaten (by me). I've also stopped liking a lot of favourites and my brain hasn't caught up yet. I hate wasting food. Next week I'm going to assume only 3 dinners will be needed and then do a top up shop if required.

How are you feeling so far or 1mg?

WeeWeeGoGo · 10/02/2024 23:05

@tinker2190 i was really ill my first week taking 0.25 so the 2nd and 3rd week I counted the clicks and only took a half dose, then the 4th week I increased it every so slightly again, I've only been taking the full 0.25 for weeks 5 & 6 and I don't plan on moving up anytime soon, I'm losing on average 1.5lbs a week which I'm happy with. HTH

wevegotthepower · 11/02/2024 08:38

Anyone noticed they're losing weight with not much difference in calorie intake from before? I am. Only in week 2 on 0.25 and still eating same amounts (I log everything long term) but have lost 5 pounds.

Does Wegovy also boost your metabolism?

I'm not complaining just wondering

AhBiscuits · 11/02/2024 08:43

I'm in a Premier Inn for a couple of nights, which means Buffet Breakfast. This morning I had a slice of toast with baked beans, some mushrooms and then some fruit and fat free yoghurt. I would usually have also had a couple of sausages, bacon, black pudding, more toast and hash browns. Then felt completely bloated for a couple of hours.
I still ate a lot more than I would on a normal day, but hopefully no adverse effects as I stayed away from fat, which is the main thing I react badly too. I'll be doing a lot of walking over the next couple of days so hoping this will counteract the extra calories from eating out for every meal.

I don't know why exactly, but I have noticed that I don't gain weight when I expect to after eating a bit more than usual.

Is anyone intermittently fasting? I’ve been watching Dr Jason Fung on YouTube and wanted to give it a go mainly for the health benefits. I have just tried a 36hr fast, surprisingly easy to do (tried a couple of 24hr fasts first where you just eat once a day). Had great results and feel good. Realise its not for everyone but just interested to see if anyone else has tried it.

Mash8586 · 11/02/2024 13:50

It’s the end of my first week and I’ve taken my 2nd dose of 0.25mg this morning.

First week was good, wasn’t hungry, minimal side effects and 3.5lbs loss.

this morning took second dose at 8am - and I’m hungry. Hungrier than I’ve been in a week - how long does it take for the second dose to kick in?

Mine has been really hot and miss, I've had times when I've had to force food down and other times I've been starving. I'm on week 6 now and much hungrier on .5 so I guess I'm getting used to it.

Gingerlygreen · 11/02/2024 16:32

@Tindrum I do intermittent fasting, usually 20:4 or sometimes omad, Gin Stephens has written a couple of books on in too that are worth reading, she's done podcasts too.

I did it before Wegovy but find it much easier now as there's no food noise

Tindrum · 11/02/2024 17:05

@Gingerlygreen I saw Gin on the Zoe YouTube channel, she was great. I’ve found I can manage fine doing the 20:4 with no issues with low blood sugar. Fasting seems to have great benefits beyond weight control so felt it was worth giving it a go. The 36hr fast was a bit more of a challenge psychologically but honestly fine and doable. Mandy Pelz is also worth watching.

Gingerlygreen · 11/02/2024 18:58

@Tindrum I agree about the benefits, I have osteoarthritis and notice a big difference in how much less painful it is when I'm on a successful run of IF.

Hailee1 · 11/02/2024 19:35

I took my first 0.25 dose yesterday. Had a headache and tiredness today though I get that most days so not sure if they are side effects. No appetite change yet. Had a real appetite change after starter dose on Saxenda so surprised and a little disappointed with Wegovy. I know I need to be patient and hope for the best...

Lou4564 · 11/02/2024 19:44

Day 5 after my first 0.25 dose shocked how my cravings and food noise literally disappeared completely so fast… please tell me it stays like this it feels too good to be true! X

ObsidianTree · 11/02/2024 22:18

Took my first jab yesterday and not feeling any different really. Still usual cravings etc. Yesterday I had a bit of a headache and felt a bit tired...but that could have been from the hangover from going out with a bang Friday night 😂im hoping it kicks in soon this week so I can actually stop being tempted by food /snacks etc. I will aim to make a conscious effort to eat less tomorrow and try and be healthier.

Have been slowly catching up on reading this thread and the last one, so do know that it could take a while to kick in properly. So won't worry too much about it.

Hope everyone is doing well ☺️

EatingTillIDie · 12/02/2024 08:28

Sigh. Feeling a bit deflated by this past month. I have stalled and I can't seem to kick-start it again. 3rd week of 1mg. I will take some lepicol today as I am so backed up, even though I know it will give me an epic stomach ache later, needs must.

Took 3rd 0.25 injection today. Have lost 4lbs so far. Long way to go but hoping losses will speed up once I get to higher doses. I'll be happy if I lose a steady 1-2lbs a week. Have a good week everyone x

Even in the strictest diets I struggled to lose 2 pounds a week regularly. Initially a big drop but then one pound more likely.

It all adds up though

Hotgirlwinter · 12/02/2024 14:59

Haven’t been on for couple of weeks! Quick update…..

Im half way through my 5th dose week.

Weeks 1-4 0.25g total loss - 7lbs
week 5/6 0.5g loss so far - 2lbs

total loss in just under 6 weeks - 9lbs

im officially 1/3 of my way to goal. It feels like to say that, by end of February I want to make that a stone so then it’ll be half way to goal.

Found the move up to 0.5 quite rough, my stomach was horrific the first 24 hours after injection. I was exercising the next day and had to run for the loo a few times 😳

I am going to tweak timing of dose this week and take it after my usual exercise activity, rather than the night before. Feel decidedly sick and tummy is gripey but I’ll take that over constipation.

3 more weeks of 0.5, may go up to 1g, will see how February pans out.

good work everyone!!!

Helene2019 · 12/02/2024 16:26

@EatingTillIDie don't feel deflated it's still an average loss of 1lb a week for the month shown - which is no small thing. My weight loss is similar and I know if I wasn't on wegovy I would be stationary in weight or increasing in weight regardless of what diet I was following.

Helene2019 · 12/02/2024 16:29

@Lou4564 the food noise banishment started coming back for me sometime in my 1mg doses and now I do also get hungry but feel full very quickly when I eat. I think it is as you get used to the medication some of the effects decrease. But then it's good to have the feelings because at some point we need to stop taking wegovy and maintain the weight loss on our own.

wevegotthepower · 12/02/2024 16:49

So what is the exit plan for all this? When do we stop?
