Today is my last dose of 1mg. Been a harder week - I find the first two weeks of a new dose really hard on my system and the last two weeks quite ineffective. Wondering if this will ever level out?

Haven't lost any weight this week which is sad, but 20 pounds overall. I'm trying to be ok with slow and reminding myself that last time I lost weight it was too fast (4 stone in 4 months) and wrecked my boobs!

My stats
W1 - 220
W2 - 216
W3 - 214
W4 - 214
W5 - 213
W6 - 210
W7 - 210
W8 - 207
W9 - 205
W10 - 202
W11 - 201
W12 - 200

If it's fancy @MorphandMindy hopefully the portions won't be ridiculous. Have you looked at the menu to see if they have any lighter options?

MorphandMindy · 03/02/2024 09:29

I have... and it's a "tasting menu only" place. DH chose it as he’s a huge foodie. 😭 So ordinarily this would be a huge treat for me, but not today!

My plan is to go vegetarian. I think the tiny portions will be fine but it's rich/heavy food I can't handle. That glazed beef short rib looks incredible but I would be waking up with awful stomach ache at 5am tomorrow after eating it. (Whoever on here said that "wegovy doesn't like red meat" was spot on in my case!) I'll also have to be very careful drinking any wine as that hangs around much longer too. I'm planning on getting sparkling water instead. I don't even LIKE sparkling water usually but it might just save me a hangover!

JONSWIFEY · 03/02/2024 11:33

Took my second 0.25 yesterday. Feel awful today. Nausea and extremely tired no energy. First week was fine so expected the same. Lost 3lbs in my first week though. Starting weight last Sunday 12st 1lb today 11st 12lb. No apetite atall today so every cloud eh.

Sunflowermoonbeam · 03/02/2024 12:12

I'm doing my fourth/last 0.25mg dose today. I've lost 7lbs in 3 weeks which I'm not overly disappointed about. I've lost far more in the past on extremely low calorie diets but basically by unsustainably starving myself.

I've been eating three modest/sensible meals a day the last three weeks, no snacking, no sweet stuff, no booze and feel like I'm just now eating like everyone else and not missing out!

I keep reminding myself that I'm the tortoise not the hare in this weight loss journey and giving myself the year to make a permanent change that will hopefully be life long this time!

Toppstileslover · 03/02/2024 19:28

Omg this was me and I so feel for you! I think I’d been on it two months when I went to India with my husband and honestly - I can never eat Indian food again! I was soooooo ill.

we had a Michelin Indian tasting menu for a wedding present and I still couldn’t eat it when I’d been off for 6 months 😂😂😂

I think it’s the richness of the food - I’m basically existing on beige at the moment.

my order has taken a week to come so I’m a week behind and eating everything which is soooo annoying! Going to be super strict this week

MorphandMindy · 03/02/2024 22:51

@Toppstileslover ah I see you know exactly what it's like!

Well I survived and had a wonderful meal! But I did have to be a bit smart about it.

  • fish or veggie plates only
  • one glass of sparkling wine lasted me the whole thing and then I had a mint tea
  • did not have the bread, which looked and smelled incredible
  • did not finish any bits I didn't particularly enjoy and let DH have those instead (pork, bone marrow)
It was nice coming home from a rather decadent lunch feeling alert and chipper (whereas DH fell asleep on the journey back!). I suppose time will tell on the digestion front - that's always harder.

That said, I am definitely feeling more energetic in general these days, I'm using my standing desk at work more than I have in nearly a year and find I'm really keen to get out for walks in the evening now that the daylight is starting to stretch out again. Is anyone else feeling this too?

AhBiscuits · 04/02/2024 08:44

I never intended to be a click counter but I am on board with it now and merrily clicking away. Healthexpress, where I get mine, has options for buying more than one pen and get a discount. I might splash out £510 on 1.7 and 2.4, as that's the cheapest per mg, and then make a decision on how to take it. I'm on 0.75 atm and increasing to 1mg for 6 weeks tomorrow. With 6 weeks of 1mg and then 16.4mg to use, which I'll drag out for at least 10 weeks, I think I'll be at goal or near enough.
What I do then is still to be decided 😅

That's great @MorphandMindy , well done.
I would say that I have a bit more energy and a spring in my step these days.

OP posts:
Tindrum · 04/02/2024 09:25

@AhBiscuits ive been debating doing similar but chickened out. I couldn’t get my head round how many clicks it would be because 1.7 and 2.4 are a stronger concentration. I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know how the clicks work with those strengths.

Mash8586 · 04/02/2024 09:27

just checking in, I have started my first dose of Wegovy today after a small delay in actually getting my own which was due to get on Wednesday.

Ive just taken it, followed the instructions but barley felt a thing tho I had a little blood and I’m worried it never went in properly… 🤞

AhBiscuits · 04/02/2024 10:25

Click charts!

I didn't feel the first dose either and I had all those same worries! You might feel the injection site sting a tiny bit after half an hour or so. But otherwise it's going to be a slower ramp up, so just be patient.

Marathon not a sprint etc etc.

Pushkinini · 04/02/2024 12:11

Took my first 0.5 yesterday. I'm slightly disappointed in my weight loss over the first 4 weeks - 3lbs, despite sticking to between 1200 and 1400 calories a day and moving more. I'm hoping that this will accelerate with 0.5 otherwise it's about £50 per lb at the moment!

Tindrum · 04/02/2024 12:22

@AhBiscuits thanks for the click charts 😀

Mash8586 · 04/02/2024 12:28

Thanks, it’s good to know from folk who are further along in their journey. I’ve taken it at 7am today and feel fine so far, though i wasn’t expecting any side effects to kick in so quickly.

I’m excited for the next few days to see if this could work for me 🤞

This is a great idea! Might do this myself.

took my 1mg last night and already feel completely back under control today. Haven’t eaten yet at 12.36 and husband is currently eating baguette infront of me so it definitely does work but sadly definitely also wears off 😂

just want to really focus in on getting it OFF!!! Been to the gym and can’t walk so I’m hopeful I’ll have a good chunk off by month end

Woolwichchicken · 04/02/2024 18:01

I feel like my side effects have come back with the second does of 0.5mg. I’m due my third 0.5 tomorrow.

0.25 only had side effects for the first week and then just sprite suppression.
with 0.5 I feel like the stomach issues (diarrhoea and nausea) are constantly there at a low level. Did anyone else have this at 0.5?

I think I’m going to stick at 0.5 for 8 weeks, the thought of how 0.75/1mg could make me feel seems horrible.

You might be amazed how differently you feel by the end of the month. My first 2 weeks on 0.5 were hard and last 2 fine. My first 2 weeks on 1mg were worse and last 2 fine! In fact last 2 of 1mg have much less appetite suppressant

Annwithout · 04/02/2024 19:42

I'm so fed up. Due my 3 x 1.0 tomorrow, but I've had no appetite suppression at all the last few days and I'm thinking when this is all over it'll just be back to the same old me. I'm giving myself 6 months on Wegovy, I just' can't afford any more than that, so I've got another 3 months to find a way to cope when this isn't working or when I can't afford it any more. I absolutely love it when it's working, but I'm so damned flat when it isn't 😢

Gingerlygreen · 04/02/2024 23:17

I'm having a bit of a wobble this week, I've been picking at the kids sweets which is always the start of the slippery slope.

I've nearly completed 12 weeks and feel so much better, the clothes I was wearing are hanging off me and today I've put my old size 14 pyjamas on and although they're snug I'm not squeezed into them like last time I tried them on.

However I'm getting all the usual thoughts of how my family love me whatever size I am and that I could just have a month off etc and still be slim for summer.
Thing is I'm not hungry, not missing food, enjoying being slimmer so there's not a single reason why my brain is suddenly trying to convince me to quit! I guess it's 20+ years of habit that's creeping back in.

I won't quit but at the moment it's a struggle!

I'll be doing my 12 week weigh in on Thursday (I only weigh every 4 weeks) so hopefully that'll be a nice boost of motivation.

@AhBiscuits I'm considering buying the 1.7 and counting the clicks, does your supplier question why it's more than 4 weeks between ordering?

AhBiscuits · 05/02/2024 06:23

@Gingerlygreen I've been ordering after 4 weeks as I think they make you go back to a lower dose if you leave it 6 weeks. It lasts ages so am stashing it in the fridge until needed.

Sorry to hear you're struggling. Our bodies use all kind of tricks to try and drag us back to our our higher weight. Try and stay strong, it will be worth it.

OP posts:
Pushkinini · 05/02/2024 07:36

Feeling a little happier today. My one month weigh in and I've actually lost 5lbs since 8th Jan which was when I stated tracking. Got to keep believing that even at 5lbs a month, I'd be where I want to be by the summer.

Icecreamenthusiast · 05/02/2024 07:46

Has anyone else had no effect whatsoever? I noticed nothing on my 4 weeks of 0.25mg so was praying I'd have something when I took my first 0.5mg dose on Friday but nope! I'm gutted!

Annwithout · 05/02/2024 08:09

Well, after my moaning last night, weigh-in this morning and I've lost 1.8 pounds, so 18.4 pounds over 10 weeks. This is my lowest weight for many years :)
3rd x 1.0 this morning, so let's hope its effects last longer than the last one
@Gingerlygreen that's exactly how I was last night, self-sabotage sneaking ahead of other thoughts.
