Well done on the losses!

It's my photo and measurements day today (every 4 weeks). 12 weeks in and I've lost 21lbs and 16cm from my waist. The difference between the day 1 picture and now is actually huge, I was so round and bloated before.
I'm still waiting for the first person other than my husband to notice.

Took my first 0.25 shot on Friday. First side effect came along straight away - nausea - and has yet to disappear.
Second side effect a day later was diarrhoea. Third side effect, which is today, those dreaded sulphur burps. Blah!

Thankfully all things I can cope with to get this weight shifted. I've got myself some peppermint tea this morning.

I took it Friday evening, and didn't notice much apart from feeling sick a few hours later.
Saturday we went for a meal. I had a steak that came with chips and 3 big onion rings. I had to give all my onion rings to DH, which I would never have done before 😂(joey doesn't share food! etc). Finished the steak even though I could have left a bit of it, but it was expensive lol.

Yesterday I made a roast dinner, gave myself a smaller portion than normal and finished it. Went for pudding, but only managed a few bites then I was done.

Not sure if it's working or a placebo effect as it's a small dose. I definitely do still have the food noise, although I seem to be under control of it better.

Brilliant, well done! It feels so good when you're not as bloated, it's the worst feeling.

I bought size 10 jeans this morning, and a size 8 shirt I bought from Vinted (from white company) fits fine 😌 this time last year I was only just fitting into my size 16 ones.

LemonKitten · 05/02/2024 14:52

That's amazing - well done!

Lovesthebeach · 05/02/2024 15:12

Hey everyone… just a quick bit of advice…

ive taken 2 weeks of 0.75 appetite suppression hasn’t been as good but I’ve still been eating less overall..

I was going to move up to 1.0 today to get the snacking under control as it’s creeping in again… but was up early this morning feeling sick and diarrhoea so now I’m scared to up it…. What would you do??

AhBiscuits · 05/02/2024 16:55

I was in a very similar boat @Lovesthebeach
I've felt pretty rough this weekend after 2 weeks on 0.75, although in my case I think it was linked to eating a little too much. I've decided to just go with it and inject 1mg today. It's only 0.25 more and I'll make sure I'm very careful with my diet for a few days.

I think this was my exact issue… I ate quite a lot yesterday and just don’t think my body could hack it!!

I’ve bitten the bullet and gone for the 1.0….. so we shall see… defo need to eat a bit more sensibly…. 😬

Amazing loss!! I bet you can see a huge difference!!
i think we have lost similar amounts and similar start weights and a few people last week actually commented…!
I think because it’s winter we are all covered up more so people don’t notice…

I'm having a bit of a wobble this week, I've been picking at the kids sweets which is always the start of the slippery slope.

I've nearly completed 12 weeks and feel so much better, the clothes I was wearing are hanging off me and today I've put my old size 14 pyjamas on and although they're snug I'm not squeezed into them like last time I tried them on.

However I'm getting all the usual thoughts of how my family love me whatever size I am and that I could just have a month off etc and still be slim for summer.
Thing is I'm not hungry, not missing food, enjoying being slimmer so there's not a single reason why my brain is suddenly trying to convince me to quit! I guess it's 20+ years of habit that's creeping back in.

I won't quit but at the moment it's a struggle!

I'll be doing my 12 week weigh in on Thursday (I only weigh every 4 weeks) so hopefully that'll be a nice boost of motivation.

@AhBiscuits I'm considering buying the 1.7 and counting the clicks, does your supplier question why it's more than 4 weeks between ordering?

I’ve been feeling a bit like this over past few weeks.. like it’s not working quite as well… however even if I do manage to overeat my body rejects it one way or another…

yay for fitting in the size 14’s and I bet you’ll see good progress when you weigh yourself!

I guess with any weight loss journey we will have our good and bad weeks xx

Lovesthebeach · 05/02/2024 19:27

this thread has moved so fast over past couple of days :-) Hope everybody is doing ok!

Mash8586 · 05/02/2024 19:55

Hello I’m new to this thread I just started my Wegovy first jab on Sunday. I actually didn’t eat much yesterday, not sure if it was just in my mind or it’s actually working.

today, I’ve ate a little more (lot less than usual) no side effects. However I feel I’m feeling guilty to eat. Did anyone else feel the same at the start? I’ve been so desperate to start this I’m just praying for it to work 🤞

Sunflowermoonbeam · 05/02/2024 21:37

Has anyone found it has affected their mood? I've been on it for 3 weeks now, taking it Saturday afternoons. All three weeks I've felt particularly blue Monday and Tuesday, when I'm normally a pretty happy go lucky person. It wears off as the week goes on and I feel cheerier. I can't quite work out if it is normal winter blues or not. The timing feels pretty suspect!

Lovesthebeach · 05/02/2024 22:15

@Mash8586 welcome to the thread!

@Sunflowermoonbeam when I first started I definitely noticed an increase in anxiety and feeling a bit down the first few days after injecting. I feel since now (3 months in) but do tend to have vivid dreams the first few nights of the week) 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sunflowermoonbeam · 05/02/2024 22:17

Thanks that's good to hear. I definitely hope it is a symptom that goes away for me too!

ive not felt down myself but apparently it is a potential side-effect. I need to move up to 0.5mg soon so will see if that changes anything.

Ive noticed price has gone up too, I only paid £147 for my 0.25mg and now it's £165 for the 0.5mg. Might be to do with all the shortages.

On a brighter note ive lost 4-5 kg and not really experienced anything significant side-effects wise.

AhBiscuits · 06/02/2024 08:13

How are you feeling today @Lovesthebeach ?
I forced down a couple of spoons of protein yoghurt for breakfast but definitely did not want to eat. I feel slightly queasy but not too bad.

MorphandMindy · 06/02/2024 08:39

Definitely time for me to go up to 1mg. This is my 8th week on 0.5 and I'm feeling the sweet cravings again! Yesterday I had too much sugar because I kept going back to the bag even though I knew I wasn't really hungry. Mind you, I'd polish it all off in one go ordinarily, but still...

We are away for half term (all-inclusive) so maybe it's the right time to go up and spare myself the impact of a holiday!

MorphandMindy · 06/02/2024 08:56

@Sunflowermoonbeam I haven't felt a change in mood as such, but I always struggle to stay motivated in the afternoons at work in the first couple of days - I suspect it masks as tiredness for me! By the end of the week I'm like a spring lamb these days though 😜

@Mash8586 hang in there! Don't beat yourself up for being hungry. It's a tool to help you, not to make you completely invincible against hunger. You still need to nourish your body to keep going, otherwise this would be completely unsustainable. You've got this!

Lovesthebeach · 06/02/2024 09:00

@AhBiscuits feel absolutely fine today. No effects so far of having the 1.0.. except my mouth feels quite dry!
hopefully looking forward to a day of less ‘hunger’ today!

@MorphandMindy defo time to move up.. that’s how I felt after 8 weeks of 0.5 it just wasn’t quite as effective!

Andrasa · 06/02/2024 09:23

I started on ozempic in April 23, went up to 1mg in June, stayed there until late November and then took a few doses in December but gave myself a break over Christmas (and put a little weight on). My gallbladder issues are making me have a longer break now, but I’m not sure whether to continue to get to my target weight or just stop. I’d be a little suspicious of any pharmacy willing to prescribe it to me now tbh as my bmi is 22.4.

@2Tired4Anything do you mind me asking where you buy your pens as my 0.50mg from chemist4u was £199

Annwithout · 06/02/2024 13:07

After my 3rd x 1.0, I went to order a 1.7 pen from Boots just now and it says I have to stay on 1.0 for another 4 weeks due to a manufacturing delay!
Has anyone else found this?

Oh that must be so annoying! I'm with Superdrug and just ordered my 1.7 no problem
