@Lovesthebeach me too - 4th week 0.25 dose and don't want chocolate or generally anything sweet (unheard of for me!).

Gingerlygreen · 24/11/2023 20:42

@Lovesthebeach Good to hear you're finding the hunger manageable, I'm week 3 and mine seems to have returned, I'm tempted to have a 4th shot early because there looks to be more than one dose left in my pen.

I've got high hopes that I won't feel like overindulging this Christmas

Shewhobecamethesun · 24/11/2023 21:03

Congratulations to all those that have lost this week. This is just the easiest diet ever!

I'm a daily weigher after doing Noom a couple of years ago where it is encouraged to get rid of scale anxiety and to be able to track trends of gaining/loosing and focus on the overall trend (going down!) so that was really helpful when I seemed to have gained 1.6lbs overnight on Wednesday. Now I know I had eaten a little more than usual on the Tuesday, but I was still only around 1400calories. I didn't stress though or get upset and then later in the day my period started which clearly explained it all. But if I'd only weighed weekly, I would have only thought I'd lost half a pound all week and be quite discouraged, when in fact I had lost 2 and was just having a totm blip.
I would definitely recommend looking up the psychology of daily weighing but more as a trend watching concept than a goal focused one.

Today I've eaten half a flapjack, a small portion of chips and one slice of pizza and I'm absolutely stuffed. Oh and about a gazillion cups of tea. This is week 4 of 0.25, so still feeling the appetite suppressing effects

Gingerlygreen · 24/11/2023 21:09

I've just gone onto the Asda website to order my next pen in plenty of time and they're now out of stock with the 0.5 too.

Zava say they'll only supply existing customers but the website has allowed me to place an order and pay so I'm hoping they honour it.
I can't face having to come off and wait for new stock 😬

It does say that the Asda online doctor service is provided by Zava.

Shewhobecamethesun · 24/11/2023 21:29

@Gingerlygreen chemist4u have 0.5 in stock. More expensive than Asda though as it's the full £199

OhpoorMe · 25/11/2023 08:30

Well I've just done my first weigh in and lost 3.5 pounds.

I had a very mixed reaction as, given how badly my appetite has been effected I had hoped for something more dramatic for the cost!! But rationally I know all about it being a marathon not a race and healthier to do slowly.

Sigh. It's hard accepting that when you've still got 57 pounds to lose to be healthy!

ChubbyFortySomething · 25/11/2023 08:51

3.5lb is great! Keep going, weight loss definitely not linear.

MorphandMindy · 25/11/2023 08:54

@OhpoorMe I have had exactly the same reaction! Just weighed in for week one and I'm down 2.5 lbs.

But I'm looking for reasons to be positive: there's always a lag when you start losing so maybe it's my body getting used to it, and also I did a blood donation the night before i started which my body will have been replenishing this week anyway so that's an invisible pound!

And for me the most important thing is the lack of attraction to sugar. Yesterday I had some chocolate while baking as the shot was obviously wearing off... but I realised much later that I only had ONE piece and never even thought about going back for a second. Previously I'd have eaten it all.

Gingerlygreen · 25/11/2023 10:58

Zava rejected my order for the 0.5 because I wasn't an existing customer so I've just ordered through health express, it's £30 more than Asda which is annoying but I don't want to have to stop while they restock then have to restart on the 0.25.

If anyone is due to move to the 0.5 soon then it might be worth buying now as stocks look to be getting low and some suppliers have already run out.

Gingerlygreen · 25/11/2023 11:05

@OhpoorMe @MorphandMindy Well done on your weight losses, imagine those losses every week and they'll soon add up, I'm hoping for 7-10lbs a month.

A previous poster mentioned weighing daily and that really works for some, I can see how helpful it is to see the daily fluctuations and learn how your body works but for me I'm more like you two and the scales tend to negatively impact how I feel if it's not the loss I hope for and so I'm going to weigh every 4 weeks.

This way I know I'll see a bigger loss on the scales and I won't know about those times when I've stuck to it religiously and only lost a minimal amount.

I've done the Cambridge diet in the past where you lose a stone a month but I always had the odd week where I'd only lose a pound and it really messed with my head.

DeviousImp · 25/11/2023 11:07

I’ve just taken my first dose of 0.25. Got it as a new customer on Boots and was waiting for Thanksgiving and birthday parties to end!

I'm excited. I plan to weigh in weekly so will see how I do this week!

MyGodMyThighs · 25/11/2023 11:40

So I was going to start on the same day as you @Crazymadchickenlady but then I picked up a virus and then the whole family has been unwell.

So I’m planning to start on Monday. Am nervous, but encouraged by your first week results, that’s brilliant!

Thanks. I've still got 2 weeks left but placed an order to be delivered a few days before I need it. I splashed out on the 1mg pen too as better value. They gave me a 5% discount code after my first order and I got £10 cashback through Topcashback. I'm all about the discounts 😄

Glad to hear your better. I’ve been fine on it and had no real side affects. Not really lost any more weight since Wednesday (I must stop daily weighing!!) but I’ve not put any back on either. Just hovering around the same weight. Hopefully I will loose a bit more by weigh in on Wednesday. I’m logging my food intake on mfp as well and trying to be really honest about what I’ve eaten. Got lots of Xmas meals coming up in the next couple of weeks which won’t help.

Good luck with your start.

Tindrum · 25/11/2023 14:21

Hi just about to take 1mg. Interested to see what happens results and side effect wise. In 8 weeks I’ve lost 1st and 1lb which works out at just short of 2lbs a week. Not earth shattering but it is consistent loss at a healthy rate. I’m not excluding any food groups and have had the occasional drink of wine. I have been out to parties and the pub and I have still lost by just having far less of everything. Feels much healthier to be able to join in and not be worrying about whether going out or eating a carb will affect my diet. Overall I’m really pleased even though, at this rate, I won’t reach a healthy bmi until April. It feels doable rather than the massive sacrifice lighterlife or similar low carb diets can.

Lovesthebeach · 25/11/2023 15:58

@Tindrum thats a brilliant loss. It sounds like you’re doing so well! I love that you’re still going out eating/drinking as normal but just less of it…that’s my dream lol

Lovesthebeach · 25/11/2023 15:59

@MyGodMyThighs hope you’re all feeling a bit better now x

221BBakerSt · 25/11/2023 17:48

That’s a great loss @Tindrum !

I take my third injection tomorrow morning. I’m 8lbs down with the only side affect being constipation…I’ve another 70lbs to lose so it’s going to take a while but slow and steady and I’ll do it. Am determined!
Today I’ve had a small chicken salad, a protein yoghurt and a mushroom stir fry. Lots of fluids.

Well done! I'm enjoying life too. I know I wont end up sticking to it if I can't party or go out with friends. I do feel a bit like I'm back in my 20s with the 'eating's cheating' as I can't do food and booze. So have to choose!

AhBiscuits · 26/11/2023 07:17

I've come to realise that my husband is definitely a feeder. He knows I'm on a health kick but not about wegovy. This week he has asked me how long I'm going to stay on hunger strike. Last night he was complaining about wanting snacks. I told him to get some snacks, I'm not stopping him. He was like
No, no. I need to be like you, a goody two shoes.
He's started eyeing up how much I've served myself and commenting on it.
He seems to want me to overeat with him, even though what I eat does not make any difference to him at all. I should add, he's not overweight.

Tailfeather · 26/11/2023 09:56

@AhBiscuits Oh no. That's not very supportive and will be make it trickier for you. Hopefully you can use it to be more stubborn about it! My husband is naturally slim and eats LOADS. All the cream and cheese and chocolate and snacks.

Kickstartplease · 26/11/2023 11:40

I lost 2.4 kg in the first week nothing the 2nd but that's fine as I was on holiday & have just done a mid week weigh & have now lost 3.6kg.
I am really pleased as I couldn't do much exercise this week but now my house guest has gone I can get back to it.
For me it is working having soup for lunch & making other healthy options for dinner. I am managing to cut out all sweets & not missing them which is a really good thing for me

Tindrum · 26/11/2023 16:27

Thanks for nice comments @Tailfeather @Lovesthebeach @221BBakerSt 😍😊. I can report i feel no different so far on the 1mg but early days.

JennyBeanR · 26/11/2023 19:47

6 days done and I'm pretty sure I am feeling the effects. I'm still eating more than I should, have had a modest 300 calorie deficit most days according to MFP, but it's been easier to stick to.
My aim for next week is to stick to at least a 500 cal deficit a day. Going to be tricky on at least 2 days, as on Tuesday I have an all day work conference in London (fully catered) and Thursday is date night (babysitter in while my partner and I go to a local pub for dinner).

I'm also going to take my second shot the night before it's due because I want to try to avoid the nausea when I'm heading for the work conference. Hopefully it will be OK. All in all I'm feeling pretty good though.

Tomorroisalwaysanewday · 26/11/2023 22:25

I found this thread tonight as I was researching wegovy. I’m really keen to start and everyone’s stories are really helpful. I’ve got alot to lose, at least 5stone.
snacking is my downfall and not feeling full.

im thinking of starting after Xmas while I’m off work and can have time off to cope with any initial side effects.

has anyone read ‘why we eat too much’ by Andrew jenkinson. The information in that about your weight set point is really interesting. I’m wondering if wegovy could help lower it.
