Schools are returning, most holidays are over and Autumn is fast approaching; A perfect time to re-set the mind, outline goals and affirm intentions. There is definitely a cool nip in the air!

Another new month to initiate a fresh start to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to stay healthy, lose weight as well as those who wish to maintain; to encourage a healthy & varied diet and to exercise.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lb. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back (mainly) on track. I Would love to wave bye to another half a stone 😬 The main thing is to never give up! Keep going!

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

PS - Positive thought:- If you were to lose on average a 1lb per week you’ll be at least a stone lighter by Christmas 🎄

Morning all!

Welcome all the newbies and hi to regulars - I feel an autumnal surge of positivity and focus amongst us. We can do this!

I went totally AWOL over the last few weeks, both in terms of posting on the thread and sensible choices (or lack thereof). Weighed today and I'm 2.5lb vs the start of summer, and I've tipped over my TW by 4oz which is obviously massively disappointing, but I guess to be expected. Context is key though I suppose - I'm still just under 2st down from when I started, and I'm ready and raring to go again.

Resetting and reaffirming my intentions and motivation from Monday, as the youngest will finally be at her new nursery (after her old setting closed in April) and eldest is back at school.

> back to 16:8 in a more consistent way; I've got into an awful habit of eating the leftover chips and having a beer at the end of a shift - THIS WILL CEASE AS OF TODAY
> back to no bread, crisps and alcoholic during the week, aiming for Sunday-Thursday abstinence on this front
> mindful meal planning and sticking to it
> 2 x dance fit classes per week plus my hours at work are going up as of Monday (= more steps!)

We're going away on an AI holiday start of October so I want to have chipped the summer gain off by then, plus a bit more if possible!

Let's go September team! 🫶

ImALittlePea · 01/09/2023 10:03

Oh - forgot my other intention - to maintain my accountability by posting on here every day if I can! Even if just a hi / meal update - and WoF update 😁👍

Whereisthewine · 01/09/2023 10:20

Can I join in please? Currently 12st heaviest I've ever been and determined to be fit for 50 (in Jan next year) desperately need accountability! Thinking I'll try the fast800 as a starting point on Monday

HollyGolightly4 · 01/09/2023 10:23

Happy 1st September everyone.

Ironically, beautiful weather forecast for next week, after constant rain throughout the holidays!

However, I'm not complaining, because it means it's easier to eat lower calories 😉 (sunshine = salad!)

Ninjachicken · 01/09/2023 10:28

Hello everyone and welcome to the newbies
I have lost 10 kgs and todays weigh in is 56.2 kgs. I would really like to get to around 53 / 54 kgs I think. I am 5 ft 1 so it does not take a lot for me to look overweight.
i have found this thread so very supportive and motivational.
thanks for the September thread @TheRealHousewife

Whereisthewine · 01/09/2023 10:32

@Ninjachicken that's amazing loss! Well done! Can I ask what you're doing diet wise? I'm def peri menopausal which is not helping with trying to shift weight 😔

WeirdPookah · 01/09/2023 11:01

Hello to all the new people! September seems to be a good restart moment for a lot of parents, time to focus on ourselves again.

I have lost 54lbs since January.
I'm calorie counting, I use MyNetDairy.

I also track my plant foods and aim for 40 different plant foods a week, to increase gut diversity and nutrient diversity.

Didn't lose in August, (well I did, then gained it back on holiday) what with the holidays, lack of dry weather to walk in etc. I am determined to end September with a loss. Time to have less temptations and distractions. Nothing really in sight until my birthday in October.

Though, went shopping today...and Christmas chocolates have arrived, time to start dodging temptations.

B: Greek 5% yogurt, canned pineapple, pecans
L: Peppers, tomatoes, omelette
D: Broccoli, vegetable sauce, cheese (family has pasta)

Happy September everyone! Rejoining from the August thread (with an updated appropriate name!)
I love September but feel slightly cheated out of the summer weather so I don't feel ready for it and the beginning of autumn!
Got a wedding and a holiday planned for this month so it's going to be tricky food-wise but I've been finding mid-week losses quite doable so we'll see...!

OkyDoke · 01/09/2023 13:00

Would love to join in please!

SW: 100.5 kg

Lots to lose but really feeling motivated at the moment. Joined the gym about three weeks ago and managing to get there three times a week at the moment. Started 16:8 yesterday too, likely to be weekdays only, but will see!

Weatherwax13 · 01/09/2023 14:23

So many new members! Fantastic to see and I I'm sure everyone will find this mob as supportive as I've done. I know that posting my Wednesday weigh in on here each week really helped me keep going when I was faltering.

Ninjachicken · 01/09/2023 14:50

@Whereisthewine it has taken a while! But I did the fast 800 which really boosted the weight loss. And at the moment I am going through a separation so I lost 3 or 4 kilos very quickly due to stress.
‘day to day I try not to eat before lunch and avoid carbs in the evening if I can. Wine is a problem for me but I try and reduce as much as I can!
good luck!

OrangeSpicedBun · 01/09/2023 19:16

PieFaceAndLovingIt · 01/09/2023 02:19

Starting weight 17 stone 10lbs
Target weight probably 100lbs weight loss, I want to be slim and strong again.
Pre-diabetic and in chronic pain, so will be starting a new and happier life in the morning 😍

I'm pre-diabetic too @pieFaceAndLovingIt like you I'm looking forward to different times when I have more energy.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/09/2023 19:37

Just keeping this on my threads, although I'm not properly staring again until Wednesday (got a long weekend away after a dreadful summer, so I intend to fully enjoy it without worrying about calories). Good luck for September everyone, see you for the Wednesday weigh in!

wiltingflower · 01/09/2023 20:26

@TheRealHousewife I'm not sure if it's a gluten intolerance, I've been avoiding carbs and even after large salad and shake type meals I still get a large bloated tummy. I'll need to look into improving my gut bacteria! I'm trying to eat 30 different fruits and vegetables a week and it's been ok so far, not sure about 30 but getting over 17ish varieties I think 🤔 I'm looking into getting pre and probiotic supplements. Thank you!

wiltingflower · 01/09/2023 20:30

Feeling a bit healthier today by sticking to a lower calorie day- zig zagging to compensate for two days of eating freely. Still got 6 fruit/veg in and might have some more later. I was back at work today but it was not as full on so currently walking at home to increase my step count. Need to do some light exercise this evening before bed. Hopefully will wake up early and get a walk or a jog or something in and get errands done tommorow.

PieFaceAndLovingIt · 01/09/2023 20:57

Lunch: stir fried kale, cherry tomatoes and sardines with lemon juice and 2 eggs
Dinner: third of a sweet potato, cod, mushrooms, peas and carrots
Drinks: tea and green tea (need to start drinking water every day)

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 01/09/2023 21:47

I was feeling peckish then remembered the no eating after 8pm rule. Nice save! I'm going to get myself a big glass of iced water instead.
I wonder how many foods I've eaten today? What counts? I've had:
Oats
Chia seeds
Milk
Wheat flour
Tomatoes
Basil
Italian herb mix
Mozzarella
Red pepper
Pineapple
Onion
Garlic
Mushrooms
Olive oil
Salt
Yeast
Sugar
Golden syrup

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 01/09/2023 21:48

Oh 30 different fruit and veg😱 isn't there a thing where you do 30 healthy foods too?
