Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

Weighed myself today as I am at the in laws for dinner tonight and it is always a feast so will not want to do it tomorrow! 65.2kgs so I am back to what I was before I went away. I have found it so hard to get back into it. The fast 800 book has helped and I am really trying not to snack.
i seem to be in a very similar situation to you @Allthegoodnamestakken i have lost 2.5 kgs since I began in the middle of Jan but seem to fluctuate between 65 - 66 kgs. Thinking of you and your test results btw. I am also easing into IF, I can get to 10.30/11 fairly easily but then I do get very hungry. Just needs some practice I’m sure. Still more than a stone heavier than last summer. It is just about being more disciplined I think. I feel more determined at the moment. I feel like I want to hibernate away from any socialising for at least two weeks but alas it is impossible. And it is my birthday on Monday 😬
i have taken a leaf out of some others great motivation @ImALittlePea and am sorting out my clothes. I am being ruthless and having a proper cull (like do I really need that 20 year old black jumper with a hole in it) 😃 and I have ordered some new trousers from Next.

hoping it will make me feel less frumpy and old.

@Puffalicious and @Bikechic your food sounds great.
well done @Bumblebeehum and happy birthday! I will try and do something similar on my birthday 🥳
i am off work today and I am being very unproductive. I have achieved nothing and am now ‘catching up on the thread’ like it is a task I must accomplish 😂 going to go and sort some more clothes now with a litre of 🍾 (love it- but it makes me think of apéros and nibbles) 🤦‍♀️ i need to reset my brain!

hi @Cloudberries123 No snacking!!! Let’s do it together!
hope you feel better soon @AutisticLegoLover i’m still in awe of how the scale moves for you!!!!

going to have an omelette with spinach, peppers and cheese for lunch (thanks for the inspiration @TheRealHousewife )
have a good day everyone . A cat and a dog for fun!

buzzofthebumblebee · 30/03/2023 10:58

I was 11 stone 0 again today - but actually converting into kg is better as it takes me down from the 70s to 69.9 kg. Can't honestly remember I was this "low" (for me!). Love a milestone. Hope to make it double whammy and be in the 10s again soon.

B - yoghurt & blueberries
L - egg fried rice with mushroom & spinach
D - roast salmon, roast squash & broccoli & cabbage

great chatty threads - but sorry no time to namecheck today. Bit wave to you all

AutisticLegoLover · 30/03/2023 13:19

@buzzofthebumblebee I prefer kilos. They are less scary and easy to see the small changes that kept me motivated. Congratulations on your new band. It's a great feeling.

@Ninjachicken I view it as keeping chipping away at the accumulated lard. I don't expect much at all these next 2.5 weeks.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 30/03/2023 17:43

After a bugger of a day I want to go get a chippy tea and drink wine. But I've come on here for a quick read and instead I'm going to do an exercise class and stick with salmon and rice for dinner!

pippitypoppitypoo · 30/03/2023 18:10

Hello can i sneak in as a newbie - assume this is monthly so I can follow you all to the next thread for April? About a stone heavier than I need to be, frustrated that I keep self sabotaging all my attempts to shift it since Jan!

AutisticLegoLover · 30/03/2023 18:38

@pippitypoppitypoo welcome! Yes, it's monthly and @TheRealHousewife will no doubt do us all a lovely new thread for April. You'll hopefully find the threads very supportive and make yourself at home.

AutisticLegoLover · 30/03/2023 18:47

Well today has been spent on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. No energy to even get excited about the Waitrose order. Sad times. I've not had any yogurt today. My works is messed up! I'd ordered my indulgence of almond croissants. I had one for lunch and it seemed to last forever. I can usually eat bothBlushI have no interest in the second one. I'm debating cheese on toast as I have a fresh block of double Gloucester but I can't be bothered making it. I did have porridge for breakfast. Two shortbread fingers, 2 glasses orange juice, water, tea, petit pain x 2 with butter and jam, crisps, and a Fab. Not my usual food at all. I've started on steroids this afternoon. and I'm hoping they don't make me hungry. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I'm not hungry since the shortbread about 4pm. I might have another fab and just go to bed and try ti eat better tomorrow.

Final weigh in of the month tomorrow! I need to look back and see what I was on the 1st March. I can't believe the month has gone so fast.

See you in the morning for last day weigh in.

:) i'll be lurking and joining in should i have anything worth sharing!
all's well over here hiking/outdoor walking as much as possible at the moment.

AutisticLegoLover · 31/03/2023 07:01

Morning all. Last weigh in of March and weighing in at 56.65kg or 8st 12lb. That's a loss of 2.2kg this month. I'm very happy with that especially as I seemed to plateau for what felt like a long time even if it wasn't.
Im feeling better this morning thank goodness and will walk ds to school. My sore throat is almost gone as is my headache and my chest feels easier. Still tired but nothing like yesterday. Stupid covid.
I've no idea what food will be like today but it's porridge for breakfast.
Have a great day and keep those fluids up 🍾

buzzofthebumblebee · 31/03/2023 07:52

Great March loss Autistic.

I've just had a last-minute whoosh - and now in the 10 s. HAPPY! So I've lost 4.5 lbs in March.

SW 11 13 Jan 23 (down from 13 2 in Sept 2021)
CW 10 12.5
GW 10 12 - so I'm only 1/2 lb off, but think I will reset it to 10 10 to give myself some wiggle room.

Thank you again for this lovely thread OP. Couldn't have done it on my own.

AutisticLegoLover · 31/03/2023 08:00

@buzzofthebumblebee well done! Now let's get April going tomorrow Smile

ImALittlePea · 31/03/2023 09:13

Morning all

I've not had much of a chance to come on this week, I'll try and catch up if I can but might have to focus on keeping on top of it in April. Needless to say that even if I'm not posting and tagging you all, I'm cheering you all on, celebrating your successes and sending you strength when needed! I hope those who have been poorly are better soon.

Absolutely BUZZING this morning, checked the scales several times but it seems real - a 2.5lb loss this week! I didn't think I'd see below 9st 10lb, but I'm now nearly 9st 8lb, and just a few lb off being 2 stone down overall since I first joined these threads at the start of last year!

I have been super focused on portion control, having my cup-a-soup lunches every day, and chugging loads of water. I think the whoosh is partly a delay from being poorly two weekends ago too, but omg happy days. It's obviously the Easter holidays coming up, and my birthday next week, so hopefully it's enough of a buffer to get me through that.

Now I've got to figure out a maintenance strategy... That can be an April topic though!

Happy Friday everyone ☺️🎊

AutisticLegoLover · 31/03/2023 09:22

@ImALittlePea that's amazing, well done!

I'm thinking how I'll manage maintenance too and have no idea. I've tried reading up on it but nothing is getting through. I'll calculate my tdee for maintenance when I get to my target and maybe increase my calories slowly until I get to maintenance calories then keep a close eye on my weight for a y gains and knock it down if needed.

Cloudberries123 · 31/03/2023 10:14

Well done LittlePea, buzzofthebumblebee and AutisticLegoLover for your great losses. I'm taking a bit of your sparkle for motivation! So proud of you.

Welcome pippity glad to have you with us and see you over on the April thread. What I love about these threads is we are all so very different, but unfailingly supportive of each other.

I'm still in the ongoing struggle of being in my head too much about food choices and hung up on sugar and processed carbs - swinging between wanting to cut them out completely, and indulging madly. Repeat to self: deprivation leads to bingeing, deprivation leads to bingeing...

It's a work in progress.

Breakfast - coffee x2, grapes, boiled egg with flake salt, half a pack of cookies (no judgment please)

Snack - sticking to drinks Ninja 😉 thank you for the encouragement

Lunch - leftover chilli and rice with salad

Snacks - realistically going to be eating rye crackers and fruit with the baby, going to try and stick with healthier choices though

Dinner - tbc as it's DP's turn.

Am I the only one glad to be done with March? See you guys on the April thread tomorrow with my first weigh-in!

Fara22 · 31/03/2023 10:24

Congratulations @ImALittlePea, @buzzofthebumblebee and @AutisticLegoLover on your achievements!

Looking forward to the April thread as I feel my motivation went AWOL during March. I know what I have to do, and have sensible and healthy days, and then seem to scupper it all in the evening with crisps and chocolate. Definitely need to fix that aspect if I want to move forward.

On the plus side, my fitness regime is now solid, and there must definitely be some benefits to that!

Onwards and upwards.

greenspaces4peace · 31/03/2023 19:51

well done @buzzofthebumblebee , @ImALittlePea , and @AutisticLegoLover !
i did a long arduous hike yesterday and my weight is up...water retention no doubt.

AutisticLegoLover · 31/03/2023 20:47

😊
I tried on a pair of fat face linen trousers I bought last year in white size 12. Too big. They still have the tags on so I'm hoping to sell them. Another pair from fat face size 12 fit fine but once I've had them on an hour they'll be baggy as anything knowing linen. Why can't sizes from the same store be consistent?? so annoying. I need to go through the rest of my clothes when I have the energy. My plan is to sell or have altered the too big stuff so it's not in my wardrobe as a back up if I gain weight. It will keep me focused.

Plus my favourite ice cream has gone up to £5.25 a 2 litre tub! Kelly's Cornish if anyone is interested. Best vanilla.

For amusement I weighed myself in jeans and hoody this afternoon and I weigh my original goal weight of 9st 3lb. It was amusing yet strange. I need to set a proper ultimate goal. I'm thinking the middle of the healthy bmi range would be ok. Slim. Not thin, Not chunky. Slim. Middle of my bmi is I think 8st 10lb. Hmmm another 2lb might not feel slim. There's still a fair bit of flab hanging around. Maybe 8st 7lb. That's 55kg. Nice rounded numbers to my autistic mind 😁

Hellenabe · 01/04/2023 08:45

Hi everyone,

Checking in :

SW 98.6 18th March
CW 95
GW 83

So 3.6kg in two weeks mainly through increasing water intake and dropping bread rolls. Hoping this keeps going!

TheRealHousewife · 01/04/2023 10:20

Good Morning All

Apologies for lack of engagement; been under the weather with back/joint pain and on pain meds.

@AutisticLegoLover Fantastic March result 👏 Well done on getting into the 8’s 👍 Sizing in clothes is nerves consistent. I’m a fan of Kelly’s too but not had any in for a while. No room in the freezer as it’s full of batch cooking and soups 😬

@buzzofthebumblebee Fabulous news about you getting into the 10’s Overall you’ve done marvellously so far this year! 👍👏⭐️

@ImALittlePea Im so pleased for you! You’ve kept going and seeing results even when times where tough for you 👍👏❤️

Welcome to the thread @pippitypoppitypoo . Have you outlined your plan yet?

@Fara22 Fitness and strength are so important and certainly go hand in hand with maintaining a sense of well-being and supporting healthy weight loss! Well done on getting your routine in place 👍👏⭐️

@Hellenabe Thats a great result for March … now keep going 😬👍👏

Weigh-ins
01.02.23 - 9st 8lbs
01.03.23 - 9st 5.8lbs
01.04.23 - 9st 8.8lbs 😮 < Meds always cause me to retain water so not too worried.

See you on Aprils thread 😊
