Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

Thanks Imalittlepea. Enjoy your shopping- bet it feels brilliant!

Your candle-light night sounds lovely ALegoLover- atmospheric!

Remindmeofababe · 24/03/2023 06:54

@Ninjachicken I love seeing the place of origin of strawberries get closer and closer! Lucky to live near a place that grows super delicious ones. Won't be long!
@ImALittlePea awesome that your dresses are all too big - shopping trip or can some be taken in?

Busy few days - house renovations. Need to make sure I balance fuel needs with not just eating all the cakes for an instant sugar hit! I am trying to treat it as an active yoga session and engage my core throughout. Means my back isn't screaming at me, so must be a good thing!

Clocks go forward tomorrow night - longer evenings are ahead!

I'm not sure if any of them are the right shape or structure to be taken in @Remindmeofababe but I'm going to have another trying on session today and see if any can be cinched in with a belt and not look awful. If not I'll be having to think about replenishing the wardrobe, it'll be a slow process though.

Weighed in and I'm 1/2lb down. I couldn't help but be a bit frustrated with myself - I know a loss is a step in the right direction, of course, but I also know I've not been nearly as on plan as I normally am, and it could so realistically have been a whoosh this week. Ah well, I'll take it for what it is! Spin it to the positives - I'm now officially the lowest weight I've been in years, and I have no clothes that fit properly 🤣

Working tonight, I'm going to try and be on it today and might have a sneaky weigh tomorrow. Just to see if I can budge any more off 🤣

AutisticLegoLover · 24/03/2023 07:52

@ImALittlePea that's awesome! Not so great for your bank balance though 🤣 if it's things you love have a look on vinted or eBay for the same in a smaller size. A local seamstress took in two sequin bodiced dresses for my dds and can work wonders so you might find someone local to you who can do things you might not have thought possible. A friend buys expensive stuff in the sales that is too big and has them altered.

57.45kg this morning. It's been a week of losing. I'm enjoying it while it lasts as I doubt it will!

Have a great day 😊

TheRealHousewife · 24/03/2023 08:17

Good Morning All

Apologies as I need a good read of recent posts to catch up properly.

Thank you comments re artefacts. @AutisticLegoLover Ive not seen sea glass before. I was thinking perhaps you’re right about my find being the bottom of a bottle. However the rim on the bottom is rounded rather than flat iyswim. Yesterday I also found something else. It’s stone as far as I can see. I feel it had a purpose before the sea claimed it as it’s a regular shape rather than a rounded pebble.

Last night we went to a Bistro and the meal was delicious. 3 types of fish and boiled (skin on) potatoes & Seasonal veg.

Remember the clocks Spring Forward an hour tomorrow night.

Morning everyone

SW : 98.6
CW 96.6
GW 83

Hoping it's no fluke but that's 2kg in a week. I have mainly omitted my favourite 2 bread rolls each morning plus I bought one of those giant 2L water bottles for my desk.

Cloudberries123 · 24/03/2023 10:54

I'd take it at face value as a real loss Hellenabe that's great! Enjoy it!

Just had a lovely catch-up read of the thread - you guys have been busy in the few days I've been away, I had nearly 60 posts to read!

Absolutely starving today as it's been an incredibly busy, active week.

Breakfast - yoghurt, muesli, jam, tea.

Second breakfast 😁 - chicken and bacon roll, coffee

Lunch - split pea soup, 1x pitta bread with butter, apple

Dinner - 'fridge clear out' pasta, veg and cheese!

TheRealHousewife · 24/03/2023 10:54

That’s a great loss @Hellenabe. Well done!

Thanks people, I do feel like its such a long way to go. But I'm completely inspired by people here. I love reading the posts!

Fara22 · 24/03/2023 11:48

@ImALittlePea that's a lovely problem to have! Enjoy the solution Grin

Well done everyone on their successes!

AutisticLegoLover · 24/03/2023 12:00

@Hellenabe that's great!

@TheRealHousewife we've found loads of river glass down the gorge I posted photos of last Saturday. Ds found an amazing big fossil too. Dd has ideas about making jewellery out of the glass and has loads of the stuff. There were lots of mills in that gorge and there's hundreds of pieces of pottery embedded in the ground and on the various beaches.

Carolinedogwalker · 24/03/2023 12:54

So I had to buy new bathroom scales because the last one is broke, no jokes necessary!
And the new scales are being mean, and have decided I’ve put on 2lb since yesterday! I know this is just something that happens when you get a new scales sometimes, but I’m sulking and have eaten a Danish pastry and a packet of chocolate buttons 😊. Tomorrow is another day. xx

PS today’s dog photo is the lovely Freddie xx

AutisticLegoLover · 24/03/2023 13:07

I'd sulk too! Scales are so bloody rude at times.

I haven't inputted all the data since September but I'd like to share my weight loss graph with you all. Seeing it in a graph has really made me see how mainly keeping on going with it has been beneficial. I think I'm still a bit stunned to be honest. I don't want praise please, I've posted it as inspiration for all of us on here to keep going even when there's a little gain or nothing much is happening as a result of your hard work. If you don't have it already then I recommend the happy scale app. Between the app and this thread, mainly the thread of course, I've been kept on track.

I've been feeling hungrier this week and am definitely cranky and now have pelvic floor pain so I think good old AF is on the way. I'm craving Greek yogurt though so that's good I suppose. Could be a lot worse!

Fara22 · 24/03/2023 14:44

It really does show that you need to just keep on keeping on doesn't it. Long term, not just short term. Well done @AutisticLegoLover

buzzofthebumblebee · 24/03/2023 17:37

Very impressive graph @AutisticLegoLover - you really have worked hard & seen results. Huge congratulations to you and yes, inspiring for the rest of us.

And well done too @ImALittlePea to be lowest weight in years. That's fantastic !! Will you get some cheap "interim" clothes until you reach a steady weight / size, then slowly slowly get a new wardrobe?

I still have wardrobe of 14s even though I'm 12 now. Some tops Ok, but loose, but trousers not good. Not sure whether to ditch the lot of 14s or keep just in case ...

2kg is a great loss @Hellenabe ! Am sure it's due to more than cutting out rolls. Keep it up.

Friday night and I'm feeling whacked. Not been a very productive day work wise. But I did dog walk with a friend, and took a long lunch to see some lovely friends. Can't wait for builders to finish bathroom to get house clean again. Enough ramblings, happy friday evening all

AutisticLegoLover · 25/03/2023 08:20

Good morning everyone! I've nearly fallen off the scales in shock: 8st 13lb or 57.05kg!!! I have no idea why it is falling off so fast this week as I'm eating what I normally eat. I have increased my water intake though so maybe that's it.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Bikechic · 25/03/2023 08:45

@AutisticLegoLover that graph is inspiring. Great to see someone who has continued in the long term.
Joining in chat about clothes - I tried on my jeans I've been saving for when I'm slimmer. I knew it was too early, but I can at least get into them. still a way to go before they look and feel good.

AutisticLegoLover · 25/03/2023 09:09

@Bikechic I think it's important to look long term and I was one of those who eats one low calorie meal or does one exercise class and thinks "am I thin yet?" 🤣 Although last night I was doing weight and wondering if I was toned yet 🙄😂 We live in such an instant world now and that makes it harder. All this lose a dress size in a week or whatever type things available to read don't help. It takes a long time to put on significant weight and even longer to lose it again.
I've been inspired to get old dresses out that I figured I'd never fit in again and will try them on this weekend. Although I bought those when I only had 2 children and I think my son changed my shape and made me broader. Trying on will see if that's true. Im going to put anything that's too big and I no longer really like on vinted.
This thread, or rather, all the posters, is such an inspiration. I've been on other threads before but nothing has been like this one. I'll be 47 in a few months and as long as I at least maintain my current state of mind I'll be so happy that I've finally managed to give myself the birthday present I've always wanted. I'll still need chub rub shorts for dresses in the summer because im blessed with chunky thighs at any weight but I'll still be happy.
A big thank you again to you all on here because without you I'd still be fat, far away from being slim for summer and life.

TheRealHousewife · 25/03/2023 19:33

Evening All

Im very pleased to say I weigh exactly the same as the day I went away. I wasn’t counting cals as we were eating out mostly, so intake was totally intuitive as well as delicious. Now to start to knuckle down and shave a few lbs off.

Ooooo I love a graph rubs thighs @AutisticLegoLover Lovely graph btw! Well done! Absolutely well done on getting into the 8’s. 🥇👏⭐️That’s my ultimate goal but it’s proving elusive. Lack of activity in my case. I can’t see the photos you posted off sea glass; I’ll try to scroll further back.

@Carolinedogwalker Thats a cracking photo!

@buzzofthebumblebee Getting into your 12s is a excellent milestone 👍👏

Don’t forget ladies, clocks spring forward an hour tonight ⏰

Weighed in yesterday and am back in the 65s so have lost what I put on recently. Currently gearing up for beginning the fast 800. I don’t think I will ever find a clear two weeks with no social commitments so I am just going to start and do my best when we go out.
thai prawn curry tonight and I am in bed for an early night in anticipation of losing an hours sleep but feeling very full
hope @Puffalicious snd @ginsparkles are feeling a bit better
congratulations @ImALittlePea what a lovely feeling 😁
I feel you @AutisticLegoLover i always get thigh chaff no matter what size I am

TheRealHousewife · 26/03/2023 08:38

Good Morning Everyone

Hope you’re not too groggy with the clocks springing forward.

@Ninjachicken Thats great news! Well done!

@tulipsandteacups Depending on your portion sizes it doesn’t sound too much food, especially when you’ve done all that exercise off which well done!

Talking of exercise I’m considering subscribing to the Walk App by Lesley Sansone rather than doing the you tube vids. @greenspaces4peace Do you still subscribe? If I remember rightly you recommended the App.

Menu
Meal 1 - Roast Chicken, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, peas, gf stuffing ball, roast potato, spoon of mash, onion gravy = 760 cal.
Meal 2 - Grated mozzarella cheese omelette = 200 cal.

Exercise

Session 2 - Hand weights.
