Starting a new thread as we are dangerously close to finishing thread two. So great to have this supportive community to share our experiences of taking Ozempic for weightloss.

"Old-timers" and new starters all welcome!

I just ordered with the Manual offer. Waiting for the doctor to confirm my weight so it can be dispatched.

I have a lot of weight to lose (10 stone to my goal but 12 stone to a healthy BMI) and I just can't seem to lose any bloody weight so we're going for it.

troppibambini6 · 02/03/2023 15:16

Hi can I join you? I've been lurking for a while.
I started taking Saxandq at the end of August and lost 2 stone by Xmas.
By January the appetite suppression had stopped and I was on max dose so I've swapped onto ozempic to shift the back they 2 stone.
I've been on 0.5 for four weeks and lost a pound! I've not really felt any effects so I've gone up to 1.0 last night.
Today I have no appetite and feel a bit crap but all good.
Had a banana today and I'm making chicken for dinner.

Mumsdaword1 · 02/03/2023 15:21

Hi all, little update from me. Im due my third 0.25 tomorrow and yes, it is wearing off but hanging in there to get used to it and increase as advised. It is the end of the week and can feeling it wearing which of course, means it is working and im at the right pace. Also making better food choices now that my sugar crash/high cycle has finally been beaten! I dont seek our carbs and sugar. Also my diet coke addiction has disappeared. Was having 2 or even 3 a day! Nice to see lots of new people on here.

Lavendersquare · 02/03/2023 16:26

I'm on second full day of ozempic and have seen a huge drop in my appetite so gave eaten a lot less than I normally would have.

However I've just eaten some chocolate (I know, I know) not masses about 6 squares and I now feel quite nauseous, is this how ozempic works? Or is this unrelated 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mumsdaword1 · 02/03/2023 16:48

@Lavendersquare yes i would say it is ozempic if you arent feeling illotherwise. Doesnt seem to like hard-to-digest stuff. Some mornings coffee turns my stomach especially if ive had a big meal the night before. I take glucomman from holland and barrett to help my appetite in the later days just before the next dose. But be careful not to have the one with chromium. Ive read it lowers blood sugar so isnt compatible with ozempic. Ive just compared the capsules with another brand from amazon. The amazon is still like water after 40 mins- bit of a scam. The h&b has definitely thickened and looks the real deal.

Twiglets1 · 02/03/2023 16:52

Welcome to the new people 😃

@Mumsdaword1 that's great that you have beaten your addiction to diet coke, now you just have to remember never to start drinking it again (though people tell me it tastes horrible once you haven't drunk it for ages so that should help).

@Lavendersquare unfortunately nausea is a common side effect. I can get it out of nowhere so it's not always even related to eating chocolate or similar. Hopefully it will pass for you soon

MaryPoppinjay · 02/03/2023 17:05

Suddenly developed the strangest taste in my mouth today - almost like I am fermenting something inside of me. I had a mix of raw and red cabbage at lunch yesterday and the ‘fizziness’ almost feels like a mix of kombucha and sauerkraut.. gross! Thinking it is possibly the slowed down digestion reacting with easily fermentable foods - anybody ever had anything similar?

could you link to the glucomman please? What is it how do you take it etc?

Mumsdaword1 · 02/03/2023 17:37

@Lavendersquare hello there it is here www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-glucomannan-500mg-capsules-60019074 it is a natural product, a fibre supplement, you just need to make sure you have a large glass of water with the capsules. I started to take two three times a day before meals but now being on ozempic it is hit and miss because i dont need it but sexond half of the week i feel the overeating and snacking habits creeping in. Still only on 0.25 so not a proper dose but would like to maximise my chances given the financial outlay

Mumsdaword1 · 02/03/2023 17:43

I also find that it settles my stomach acid and the weird taste in my throat mouth from oz

Twiglets1 · 02/03/2023 18:02

I find that a glass or few sips of milk are good for settling the acid that I have been getting on Oxempic

Twiglets1 · 02/03/2023 18:03

Ozempic!

Circa1840 · 02/03/2023 18:15

I have just taken my second dose. I was due to take it first thing in the morning but wanted to get it in me overnight. I didn't really get any bad side effects the first week. I have stayed at a 7lb loss which is amazing. I am so pleased. I know some have said the nausea creeps in more as the weeks go on. I'm hoping it won't. Nice to see lots of other new starters. What an exciting journey to be on together.x

Has anyone fudged their BMI to get hold of Ozempic? Mine is 27 so think I may be refused?

No - I wish I had to fudge it but unfortunately my BMI is 31.4 🥴

Has anyone fudged their BMI to get hold of Ozempic? Mine is 27 so think I may be refused?

Yes I definitely did this as I was so desperate

GiveMeStrength31 · 02/03/2023 18:58

I feel desperate too. Did you have terrible side effects?

MaireadMcSweeney · 02/03/2023 19:17

BMI of 27 is only slightly overweight. Is medication really the way to lose weight? I'm not judging and I empathise with feeling desperate but taking medication isn't a minor thing.

A BMI of 27 with a weight related health condition is allowed. The condition can be high blood pressure, knee problems, high cholesterol, sleep apnea etc.

GiveMeStrength31 · 02/03/2023 20:45

Ok thank you. Would be grateful for any discount codes. Thanks in advance

Mumsdaword1 · 02/03/2023 21:44

@MaryPoppinjay yes i have this most of the days and it is nasty. Like a rising bitter, sour, acidic , metallic taste. Good job really, as it is helping me stay on track not to increase the doses early. I dont think i can bear a ramped up version of what we are experiencing

Mumsdaword1 · 02/03/2023 21:45

@Twiglets1 good shout! i will try having milk to settle it down. It is ghastly.

MaryPoppinjay · 02/03/2023 21:57

@Mumsdaword1 yup, horrid. And apologies if TMI but as I’m really burpy and bloated there is def some fermenting going on. Been on Oz for 3 months and this is the first time it’s happened so it must be the particular food from yesterday digesting too slowly. Gonna try low fodmap foods for the next few days to get rid of it.

I feel so wholesome when I sip my glass of milk. It really does work well for me so hope it does for you too

This is 3rd thread on the topic and having read them all nobody is taking this under medical supervision. It’s all being purchased from Quickmeds, Juniper, Manual and Health Express to make a few.

People are kidding themselves if they think that a few self populated questions on a form constitute any sort of support or supervision. The aim of these companies is to make money.

It’s a rave thread and anyone who offers a different point of view is immediately highlighted as some sort of troll. I posted my experience some pages back and had multiple posters discrediting me and one told me to F off.

This is a relatively new drug and one that has yet to show the effects of long term usage. What I suspect we will see is an increase in people with different health conditions exacerbated by the self dosing of a drug without any sort of monitoring.

People are quick to jump up and say that doesn’t apply to them because X Y or Z. Time will tell I guess if they regret their actions at some point down the line.

Possibly but we take it with the knowledge we have right now, not in the future and will our personal medical histories individually as well. My personal insulin battles are controlled by this drug so far. It may be that other risks slightly increase whilst others decrease. Like every single medicine ever created……..
