Starting a new thread as we are dangerously close to finishing thread two. So great to have this supportive community to share our experiences of taking Ozempic for weightloss.

"Old-timers" and new starters all welcome!

Any suggestions to the best exercises in relation to c-section pouches? My midriff is definitely shrinking, almost like I'm deflating a bit as I was so wide with it. Am pleased about that but it's highlighting the c section pouch for sure.

Unfortunately you can't really exercise away a loose skin hang but doing suck ins and other full core exercises will make your waist smaller

Women can, but it's not easy and not when in calorie deficit which by definition we all are!
it's certainly not as easy for women as for men!

I take your point actually about being in a calorie deficit.
When we are maintaining, it's really important to focus on strength training for health and longevity.
Dr Gabrielle Lyon covers this subject thoroughly if anyone is interested.

My pen has arrived and I'm just wondering whether it's better to inject evening or morning?
I'm planning to do 16/8, which I've been doing already this week (but not calorie counting, just to get into the routine) - anyone else do this?

HeyMicky · 26/02/2023 18:17

Pros: Two people have commented this weekend that I've lost weight so it's clearly visible now. And my shoulder muscles are actually defined - I spotted them in the mirror doing press ups yesterday.

Cons: I'm bloody freezing. Anyone else had this? I'm not eating so little or weight so little it would have that kind of effect.

HeyMicky · 26/02/2023 18:29

@Cozytoesandtoast00 I'm managing around 150g protein on a daily calorie intake of 1500, with a deficit of 1000

Yes I am absolutely fucking freezing ALL the time! I annoy everyone banging on about how cold it is but I can’t help it. I’m sat in long leg/sleeve knitted pjs and a dressing gown and slippers and my hands and feet are like ice and I think my nose may be about to drop off it’s so cold! I’ve hated the last two hot summers due to being fat and uncomfortable but I’m hoping this one will be more bearable if I’m slimmer AND this cold all the time!

pearlandperidot · 26/02/2023 18:47

@MiniCooperLover also a problem I have and have been doing lots of massaging the area - this is meant to help but I haven't been doing it long enough to have an impact just yet

pearlandperidot · 26/02/2023 18:55

@HeyMicky I think it was me who said about the protein, that's incredible. What's your average day to day menu like?

Lndnmummy · 26/02/2023 18:56

Twiglets1 · 26/02/2023 14:37

I expect the pen will arrive on Monday or Tuesday so as you say, a good first week to try it. Hopefully you won't get any bad side effects.

I've decided to use my pen again but only with a 5th 0.25mg dose, don't trust myself to move to a higher dose. My husband is also away next week which partly helped me to decide to stick with it for a bit longer as he won't be around to see it if I get nauseous again.

@Twiglets1 we can handhold eachother through it. I think I will try again on Tuesday.

Athena51 · 26/02/2023 18:58

Protein wise I aim for at least 100g which is reasonably easy to achieve even on a lowish calorie intake.

I am almost always cold as well, I have proper shivering fits but I've had those since menopause. Yep, I have cold flushes not hot ones - weird but true 😀

Wow I wasn't on since Friday serious catching up to do!

I hit a new lowest weight consistently of 13st10lbs which is 18lbs off since I started in mid Nov. I've hidden my scales under a cupboard now until next week because I was tormenting myself weighing daily & I've a busy week this week.

Was out drinking last night for my birthday & had diarrhoea this morning it's been a couple of weeks since that happened.

I've taken 2 doses of 0.75mg so I'm going to go up to 1mg tomorrow.

Good idea.
Can’t deny, I’m nervous 😬

@HeyMicky I think it was me who said about the protein, that's incredible. What's your average day to day menu like?

This was one day last week. 134g protein. It's not all whole food

Spinach & blueberry smoothie with protein powder and collagen; boiled egg; protein coffee with almond milk

Lentil soup; roast chicken breast and mayo; celery and light Dairylea; Babybel lite; cottage cheese; leaves with lemon juice

Chicken and peanut stew; zero rice; green beans

Snacks of chocolate protein bite and chicken bites

HeyMicky · 26/02/2023 19:41

Actually the day before was better - 145g protein.

Pre workout; protein shake plus collagen; boiled egg

Tuna salad

Bang bang chicken with zero noodles and veg

Snacks of protein yoghurt and an alpen bar

HeyMicky · 26/02/2023 19:43

@Prettybubblesintheair The only way I can get warm is with a shower or bath

Circa1840 · 26/02/2023 20:08

Hi, I have been stalking you all for a while. I took the plunge and had my first injection Friday afternoon. I'm 5ft9, I was 15.2 with a BMI of 31. I didn't feel much on Friday but I was scared to eat so just had a small bowl of pasta. Yesterday I had a 6 pieces of sushi and a banana. Today I had 2 poached eggs on toast, a banana and I have just nibbled on some cooked chicken. Lots of tea and coffee. I just couldn't eat any more. I have a very low level nausea today but I really could not eat anything else. So for those asking what to eat, it might be the case that you just can't! I was shocked this morning when I woke that I wasn't starving but I just wasn't. I'm amazed. I will weigh myself in the morning...very excited to see what they say....

ILostMyself · 26/02/2023 20:12

I aim for minimum 100grams of protein a day too.

pearlandperidot · 26/02/2023 20:33

Thanks @HeyMicky some good inspiration there - I can't eat dairy or egg whites though and vegan options not as protein heavy but often forget about yoghurt as a snack!

DorotheaDiamond · 26/02/2023 20:34

So I had my first injection Tuesday and not really feeling the appetite suppression :-( do you think bringing the second one forward to tonight would be really mad? No nausea or anything from the first…

I’ve been a bit the same this weekend (had the first one on Tuesday too) although I think I did have less appetite for the first few days. I’m going to go to bed early and see how I feel tomorrow… (no side effects here either).

Are you not feeling it all all or only feeling it a bit? We still need to eat some so it will not stop your appetite fully? In my case I'm still hungry at meal times but seem able to take a smaller portion and find that ok.

DorotheaDiamond · 26/02/2023 21:36

I think I’m finding it easier psychologically to stop eating but not really feeling that I can only eat tiny amounts as some people are getting …

Prettybubblesintheair · 26/02/2023 23:00

Like others I am getting hungry at meal times but then when eating in full after about half of my usual portion. I’m also not craving sweet things as much. For example Fridays are my long day at work (7-7) and usually on my break I was “treating” myself to coop triple chocolate cookies…a bag of 4, 300 cal per cookie and I’d eat at least 2. I haven’t even thought about doing that since ozempic, I sure I liked those cookies but I don’t crave them. The appetite suppression and lack craving usually kicks in the day after my injection and is at its peak/most noticeable for 5 days. The last two days before my next injection require more will power but certainly less than if I wasn’t taking ozempic.

missfliss · 27/02/2023 06:50

Hello - I'm getting on ok with Ozempic ( just moving towards a 1mg dose)
No vomiting but some nausea at times.

Hungrier at lunch and less at dinner ( which is the reverse for me). I'm struggling to eat enough I would say to fuel the running and mild weights I do 5/6 times a week ( alternated) and so am after protein tips.

I can see a mention of protein coffee, collagen, protein powders, snacks and yoghurts.

My main meals are protein based but would be helpful to understand any supplementation I can fit in - can you share any brand names or direct recommendations?

Circa1840 · 27/02/2023 07:31

So 7lb loss since taking my first injection on Thursday... unbelievable. Woke up feeling fine. No hunger... just looking forward to a cup of tea. 😋
