Here’s a shiny new thread for everyone who’s been sharing their experiences on the original, and of course all new starters are welcome too!

@missfliss Hmm, depends on your definition of 'good'. Yes, konjac. They smell vile coming out of the packet, the mouth feel is all wrong and they don't absorb sauces at all. But they are more satiating than cauliflower rice or courgetti, and they are great for volume eating

has anyone got a referral code for myjuniper? I'm going to start ASAP if I can.

OK, I have questions - I'm 5 stone overweight, how are people finding it....? It just seems a strange thing to do but reading it seems perfect for me.

I will probably end up diabetic if I carry on gaining weight and "eat less move more" isn't really working for me.

Thank you - Done - I have ordered..... I'm now just slightly scared 😱

It's bizarre. It's like all the voices in your head about food are switched off. I don't find myself getting hungry/hangry at all. Instead I eat at mealtimes and stop when I've had enough. Small portions. And my tastes have changed as well, I find chocolate too sweet.

PollyAmour · 25/01/2023 16:17

Can some kind poster PM me the discount code? Thank you very much.

This sounds like a sensible way to lose weight rather than a diet plan that I can never stick to.

Kfjsjdbd · 25/01/2023 16:34

Is anyone with Numan? I’ve just injected my 3rd dose of 0.25ml and there looks like there’s loads of liquid left.

It’s definitely working, so there must be something going in!

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 25/01/2023 16:47

I took my first injection today! I was so nervous and apprehensive about it all especially considering the side effects! I’m with Juniper 0.25 for 4 weeks. I will let you know how I get on.

When do people usually feel the side effects? I’m so anxious about those 😭

MiniCooperLover · 25/01/2023 17:04

Try not to be anxious ButterfliesnWaterfalls, I find with anything digestion anxiety just makes it all feel worse/show itself worse. So say the side effects make you feel slightly nauseous, you run the risk of feeling even worse because of the heightened worry, etc. Well that's how it tends to make me feel anyway.

I did my first injection y'day. Ate normally enough today, I don't over-eat during the day really, it's the evening especially if husband plates up, he just doesn't think we over portion and I think we do but once it's there I eat it. Anyway, today has been scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, lunch was salad leaves and prawns in rose marie sauce. I definitely felt fuller after both meals than I usually would. I thought about some of the chocolate downstairs but almost in a kind of 'lazy disassociated way' and then didn't bother so maybe there's something in it. I've drunk lots of water too because I've got quite a bad headache but otherwise so far it's a normal day. I'm not really sure what I'm expecting but glad it's not impacting the day too much while I work.

missfliss · 24/01/2023 21:29

I was rejected by Juniper - but have 3 pens (0.5) coming from UK Meds - at £129
each ( so less than Juniper). Aim is to work out the dose for 0.25 for first few weeks, then usual 0.5 for 4, then can double dose to make 1 and see how it goes.
I am overweight by a decent margin, just it quite enough apparently for Juniper.

Hi missfliss, can you let us know if you get your order from UK Meds as I'm planning to order them next?

missfliss · 25/01/2023 17:17

Hi @leilani83 - yes of course - they are apparently arriving tomorrow via Royal Mail next day ( they are refrigerated so relievers with cool packs).

I'll let you know

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 25/01/2023 17:53

@MiniCooperLover Thank you so much.

I injected at around 11am. And I’ve had small pasta portion and small tuna filling in bun. I don’t feel too hungry right. I need to drink more water though. Will take each day as it comes and see what tomorrow brings 😊

I'm with numan, though it doesn't actually matter who you go with (assuming a genuine registered pharmacy) as the medication is only made by novonordisk.

The pens contain 8 X 0.25 doses, which is why there's still loads of liquid remaining. You can buy additional needles and continue using the current pen until it runs out/ 56 days have passed since first use. No way am I wasting it.

Has anyone successfully maintained on Ozempic? As I am close to my target weight I feel worried that my hunger will be out of control off it. When it wears off the nibbling starts again so I have my concerns.

(I have lost 27lbs in 16 weeks which I'm delighted with!)

I don't have an answer to your question, but wanted to find out more about how you got on to it.
Do you just order it online?
Is there aftercare?
How long does it take to wean off?

Thanks :)

mathis2006 · 25/01/2023 23:16

According to the study most people who stopped put it back on. I think without completely changing our habit and increase our daily energy expenditure( moving more) then we are very likely to put it back on sadly.
I am planning on carrying counting my calories for as long as needed.

I think about this all the time. I've been thinking about what led me to be overweight and putting in those strategies now.

  • I've completely stopped eating sugar. I know once I've stopped Ozempic, eating just a tiny bit will cause me to overeat. What are your foods?
  • I only eat whole foods so no processed crap
  • I've started strength training. 20 mins 2x a week. This reduces insulin resistance and encourages your body to increase muscle not fat
  • I don't snack at all (2-3 meals a day)
  • I make sure I get enough sleep and reduce stress as much as possible. Hopefully this will help me!

Does anybody know if numan will automatically send the next dose pen? Or will they just keep sending the same dose one unless I ask to change it

They will send the next dose pen unless you contact them and ask to stay on the lower dose before they have sent the pen out.

Peridot1 · 26/01/2023 08:38

@yellowfloss - it is like any weight loss method. If you go back to eating the way you did before then you will put the weight back on. Some people may need to be on it long term. I read an interview with the CEO of the manufacturer who said it should be thought of as similar to blood pressure medication and that people are on that for life. @Cozytoesandtoast00 has a good plan for going forward. I will do similar I think. Mainly low carb during the week and letting myself have limited carbs at the weekend.

@justasmalltownmum - yes you buy it on line generally. Some doctors or diabetic nurses will prescribe it if you are diabetic. It has actually been approved for treatment of weight loss in the UK but is hard to get doctors to prescribe it due to cost and your BMI needs to be over 30 I think. I think there is aftercare with some of the online suppliers but not all. And as for weaning off most of us here are still on it so haven’t tried that yet. I will wean off down to the lowest dose in four week increments I think. I have another 2 stone to go though I think.

IAmBreathingIn · 26/01/2023 10:03

Thank you very much @Cozytoesandtoast00 for sharing your thoughts and actions. It has given me plenty to think about and try to implement.

Overall this forum has been a massive help and I think has made this approach a lot less daunting. So thank you to everyone for your help and advice, and for posting your losses (which is always encouraging!) ☺️

mathis2006 · 26/01/2023 10:12

So day 3 on 0.5 ( after coming off saxenda) no side effects at all, some appetite reduction but not quite enough. Will inject second 0.5 at 5 days and see if I get better results.

HermioneKipper · 26/01/2023 10:12

My package is arriving today. Need to decide when to start though. Think I will do it tomorrow as I’m at the office on Monday and need to be sure of effects
