PT session got cancelled because we had heavy snow and my car is awful in snow (and I’m a scaredy cat).

I’m feeling good with all the water drinking and my foods not been too bad this week either. Got arms and abs via zoom tomorrow morning, just a half hour class before work.

@lifelongfrugaleer sorry to hear you’re struggling. Can you pinpoint what’s causing it? What do you think you can do/change to try to turn things round?

Unescorted · 18/01/2023 20:35

Life I can only put it down to sheer bloody mindedness. Also having to pay for the gym I am going to get my money's worth.

The diet is because I have a really supportive family. DH has stopped drinking, the kids are embracing vegetables and not moaning about the lack of biscuits or crisps.

Because they are on board I feel I would be letting them down if I stopped going full tilt.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/01/2023 20:52

Ah and I’m not there yet but I did go to the gym

January blues Gen

Gensola · 19/01/2023 06:50

My jeans feel tighter today 😵‍💫 I didn’t weigh yesterday in the end as I woke up with a putrid sore throat and was so upset that I’m sick again. Have GP appt later to try and get to the bottom of it all.
I feel quite down about it 😩 I just can’t seem to get on top of things.
life January blues is right enough
I literally cannot drink water in the cold, every sentiment revolts. Need to get some herbal teabags or something for work or I’ll shrivel up 🤣

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/01/2023 07:13

I drink warm squash instead of water, can’t bear cold water either
you have been through the mil Gen and your immune systems is shot after last year, also kids at school thrown in

Happierwithouthim · 19/01/2023 09:18

gen Natasha Bedingfield's sick and tired of always being sick and tired is going through my head when I read this. I was like this a few years ago too. You've had hormones pumped into last year, your body needs some recovery time, look after yourself, drink more water than you want to, and forget about exercise other than for mental health and fresh air for a few weeks give yourself a chance.

Gen you have had to deal with so much stress and worry the last year, the stress really knocks it out of us honestly l think it's a killer , hope your throat feels better soon 💐
Life Jan blues are so well known , it's the longest month when everything is cold, dark and miserable 💐
Unescorted that's great you have so much support from your family. l am so pleased for you 👏👏👏🤗
Curls glad you are doing so well 🤗
Not feeling it here tbh , everything seems such an effort, it will pass l'm sure, we just need some longer daylight hours l feel 🤗

Squalid students gen bringing all their germs back.

Unescorted · 20/01/2023 18:06

People... After a plateau for a while I am in the 75s. I cannot tell you how squeeee excited I am. Less than one poxy kg to Easter Egg.

I also went to the city version of the gym to realise us bumpkins put more Welly into our workouts. Obviously based on a very small sample of one visit. I only saw one person break a sweat.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/01/2023 09:00

Woo hoo unescorted

i danced the night away last night after eating a fuck ton of carbs and brownies

back to it today

19k steps thought

Unescorted · 21/01/2023 09:26

Wow! 19k! Dancing does that.... I might be going dancing tonight. It is the running club dinner and disco. I am ducking out of dinner because it is in a pub with not such grand food. If I am eating calories they are going to be good ones. I am trying to muster up dancing feet without much luck ATM. Although 19k....

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/01/2023 09:53

The food was carb rubbish so over calories and a bad tum sadly but sweaty dancing was great, Do it!

Gensola · 21/01/2023 12:04

Went out on the town in London and got absolutely drunk, very hungover today. 😩
some photos of last night show how much weight I am carrying so it’s been a good spur to continue with diet and exercise.

Unescorted · 21/01/2023 12:29

Gen it was the photo of me on stage receiving an award that got me. Each time I see the photo I cringe.

Happierwithouthim · 21/01/2023 18:05

Unescorted great work, you made me Grin with your description of the gym bunnies!

Gen hope you start to feel better soon

Life dancing is great isn't it? My friend wanted me to join a dance class for fun but it's same night as the one day I finish early in the week to spend time with my children so I had to say no.

Got a walk in today with dd it's a beautiful day here & now finished off with a chicken kebab.

Forgot to update here, 2lb off this week! Happy with that.

@lifelongfrugaleer i love dancing as well and try to do at least 1 class a week. I remember years ago having a ‘why are we so fat now?’ Conversation with a friend. Reminiscing about how we’d go out drinking every weekend, kebabs etc at the end of the night and still stayed slim. But we’d dance in clubs for hours and hours, so clearly burnt a lot of it off on the night. Not so easy now 20 years down the line!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/01/2023 20:34

Had a billion calories this weekend, tomorrow is a new day

Unescorted · 22/01/2023 21:03

Nice one Curls. I don't think I will have had a great day... I woke up really really hungry from overdoing the gym and going skinny on food on Saturday. I made up for it today. Life I am borrowing your tomorrow is another day mantra.

In my defense I have eaten my 5 a day.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/01/2023 06:27

Gosh I’m tired,

Unescorted · 23/01/2023 07:45

Me too... I already want this week over.

Happierwithouthim · 23/01/2023 08:17

I'm the opposite, poor nights sleep but woke & had shower & everything went smoothly this morning so I was at work before starting time. Ironically our clock in machine isn't working so it'll go largely unnoticed Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/01/2023 16:17

Oh no happier
I’m really struggling to get back to it after the weekend white shite and chocolate

Happierwithouthim · 23/01/2023 17:03

I made Dorset apple traybake yesterday morning, took half with me visiting, ate two pieces about 2" square each and then put remainder in freezer to bring with me when visiting my parents next weekend because the temptation would be too great while I was making the lunches this morning.

But had that, yogurt fruit and granola and half a prawn and monkfish curry in total yesterday so I think I'm ok.

Tomorrow's a new day life and make your dinner a healthy one.

Sorry to hear you’re down, @lifelongfrugaleer and @Unescorted . Hope you can boost your mood and feel better about this week.

Ive had a fab day off. Dance fit and yoga this morning, PT session this afternoon. Which went a LOT better than my initial one when I could barely walk for days after! Came away from this one absolutely buzzing and can’t wait till the next one.

Unescorted · 23/01/2023 20:34

I have dragged my sorry body to the gym. I am not going to lie... It was a struggle that nearly had the sofa winning.
