Going to log my experience here as a journal and also to help others if interested.

having gone hungry to lose 5lbs earlier this year and then stalled because I’m always hungry, I put 4lbs back on. Being v pear shaped I never have a belly, but now it sticks out and digs in and clothes are uncomfortable. Doing more exercise makes no difference. It is clear that will power simply doesn’t work for me.

I took my first dose (0.25mg) last night. Woke up around 2.30 with pain at the injection site which passed. Was v thirsty so gulped water which just seemed to sit there. A couple of small burps. Got back to sleep. Weirdly vivid dreams. This morning, not particularly hungry first thing.

Ooo @Happierwithouthim do you know what the basis of that was? And it is Wegovy?

Sorry I don't understand your question, I haven't filled prescription yet so I'm not sure of brand name

blardyfeck · 09/11/2022 18:19

Hello is there any chance I could get a code for My Juniper if anyone has one?
Thank you 😊

blardyfeck · 09/11/2022 18:22

Oh actually I found a code!

Stillwearingskinnies · 09/11/2022 18:36

And I've changed my username (was blardyfeck). I've ordered from My Juniper so I'll be joining you when it arrives, once my eligibility is confirmed.

PenguinTattoo · 10/11/2022 14:35

Hi
I would like to join you please. I am eligible (according to Juniper), but don't seem to be able to DM for the discount.
Does anyone know how to DM on the app or could send me a Juniper code please?
Really appreciate all the comments on this thread, it's been really helpful in making up my mind!
Thank you

Welcome Penguin!

I’ve had very little appetite today, just as well as I’ve not had time to stop and eat! Weirdly vivid dreams again last night. Bit of burping and occasional very mild nausea, but nothing unmanageable.

First dose - feeling very excited!

Starting weight 84.7kg 😱

LovelaceBiggWither · 11/11/2022 13:16

I'm on week 5 and still on .25. I have been so sick today, vomiting and I just feel terrible. Starting to wonder if it is worth it. My BLG are up as well.

HermioneWeasley · 11/11/2022 19:38

Oh @LovelaceBiggWither I’m sorry to hear that.

It sucks, no doubt about it. Had a huge weight loss overnight though which is nice.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 12/11/2022 06:48

Hello. Good to read your stories. I have been on Ozempic since August and was due to go up to 1 mg when the 1mg pens went out of stock. I went down to 0.25 instead as I was feeling so tired on 0.5. I intend to work my way back up. I do notice the reduced appetite on either dose and can’t eat such big meals. However I hadn’t done so well with the snacking and was in a sugar addiction spiral. I lost weight the first week, plateaued and gained again once I dropped the dose. Off sugar completely for a week now and losing weight again. I think I will go back to 0.5 next week.

How much and what are you all eating per day? I feel like I could get away with eating very little but not sure that's wise...don't want to crash suddenly!

Feel like I'm eating for fuel rather than pleasure, which is weird!

Hairlikeabewitchedhaystack · 12/11/2022 12:24

Apologies if this has been covered already but I'm a little nervous of potential side effects. I could only get a .5 pen instead of a .25. Am I correct in thinking that I should do 18 clicks of this for each 0.25 dose (0.5 pen) and it just means I'll get more than 4 doses from it?

HermioneWeasley · 12/11/2022 13:14

@leilani83 I’m generally eating what I did before, but much smaller portions and little to no snacking because I’m not hungry all the time.

I've been using this for a while and I'm now on my 3rd full (1) dose. My side effects were indigestion, burping and nausea. My GP gave me Omoprazole which has helped.

My sugar and carb craving have gone and I drink much less alcohol. If I drink too much alcohol (ie more than 2 drinks) I get a raging hangover and have vomited.

It's amazing not to be thinking about food all the time but sometime I struggle to find something I like, soup is my go to.

leilani83 · 13/11/2022 09:14

800g in two days which is an encouragement! Last night felt a bit difficult - still a bit hungry after a light meal and coping with evening boredom with no snacking and wine! But not feeling at all hungry this morning and have much more energy!

I think it's like someone said: you still have to put in the effort but Ozempic multiplies your efforts!

Stillwearingskinnies · 13/11/2022 11:12

I've had my first 0.25 dose this morning. I was ridiculously anxious about the injection but it was absolutely fine. I'm excited about the coming week & the feeling of control over my eating habits 🤞🏻
It's really reassuring to hear all the positive stories from everyone, as well as the negatives, so we know what to expect.

How are people finding the step up to 0.5? I’m still on 0.25 and am not feeling much difference. The first few days on 0.25 I felt an instant reduction in my appetite and then it seems to have returned to normal.

The pen I have is for 0.25 but there is extra in there. I’m wondering whether to step up to 0.5 a week early by injecting twice.

interested in peoples views and experience.

HermioneWeasley · 13/11/2022 16:38

My last dose of 0.25 didn’t have much impact, but stepping up to 0.5 I have felt the impact. Can only eat v small meals again

The symptoms you describe are exactly what happens to me when I eat high fat, low carb.

Anytime I eat sugar or starchy carbs, I find myself permanently hungry, looking out for my next meal or snack.

When I eat low carb / high fat, which involves lots of leafy green vegetables with fattier cuts of meat and fish, plus mayo/creme/cheese it takes a few days to convert (during which time I can hear a voice in my head urging me to eat sugar). After a few days, all that drama goes away and my appetite dramatically falls off.

I've used a continuous glucose monitor to confirm that my blood sugar remains very stable. Do still want to eat but without that urge for sugar/starch.

There is lots of info plus supporting and knowledgable people over on the low carb boot camp threads. Don't be put off by the 'boot camp', it's a very warm and supportive environment.

Hope you see you over there.

Ahhh that sounds promising, thank you. I think I will try on my next dose to up it to 0.5. I hope I don’t live to regret it with side effects.

mathis2006 · 13/11/2022 20:14

Hi,
I will start mine when I receive my tablets this week. Then will purchase pen when it is available. I will start with 7mg tablets, which are the equivalent of 0.25mg on the pen. Scared of the nausea.
Are you all purchasing from juniper?

The 0.25 pen is cheaper and both have the same contents. You can get 8 0.25 doses or 4 0.5 mg doses out of either. The click counts that you can find online I think refer to the 1 mg pen. I guess if you count the clicks for 0.5 and then do half of that it would be 0.25. If you are worried about side effects then start on the 0.25 mg dose and see how it goes.

I haven't got up to 1 mg yet and side effects have not been too bad. Tiredness as I said before and I did wonder if it set my menopause symptoms back (anxiety mostly) and also nausea in the mornings with two occasions when I was sick. Possibly a mild headache. I do feel better now that I have dropped the dose but think it will be worth trying to increase it again as the affect on my appetite was much better at 0.5.
