Going to log my experience here as a journal and also to help others if interested.

having gone hungry to lose 5lbs earlier this year and then stalled because I’m always hungry, I put 4lbs back on. Being v pear shaped I never have a belly, but now it sticks out and digs in and clothes are uncomfortable. Doing more exercise makes no difference. It is clear that will power simply doesn’t work for me.

I took my first dose (0.25mg) last night. Woke up around 2.30 with pain at the injection site which passed. Was v thirsty so gulped water which just seemed to sit there. A couple of small burps. Got back to sleep. Weirdly vivid dreams. This morning, not particularly hungry first thing.

This is interesting, which website did you use? Are there any side-effects?

HermioneWeasley · 31/10/2022 21:03

Just a reminder for those considering ordering through “my juniper” that I have a £50 off referral code.

@determinedtomakethiswork

not sure who you were addressing the question to? I’ve ordered through my juniper as I liked the idea of being under medical supervision.

I haven’t had any “side effects” as such apart from burping!

other people report nausea and fatigue.

I got mine from the virtual slimming clinic

Hi I would love your code. Also its asking me who my friend is if you want to dm me your name. Thanks!

LovelaceBiggWither · 01/11/2022 04:12

I've had nausea and fatigue as side effects on 0.25 mls. I am also losing over 2 pounds a week.

Relieved as the pharmacy just rang me to say they have another pen for me.

HermioneWeasley · 01/11/2022 05:51

@Itsallthelittlethings i have pm’d you

I’ve moved up to 0.5mg tonight.

OP posts:
Torvi · 03/11/2022 12:43

OP, how are you feeling on 0.5? And how much have you lost so far?
Day 2'for me. Feeling slightly nauseous and tired but appetite definitely lower.

HermioneWeasley · 03/11/2022 18:38

First day of 0.5 is more like my first day of 0.25 but slightly less intense. I’ve had burps, occasional v mild nausea and little hunger

i think the weight loss is slightly flattered as I had had a big week when I started and probably
would have dropped a pound or two naturally, but 6lbs in 5 weeks. It has been effortless.

My pen arrived yesterday but I feel nervous to start for some reason, think I'll do it tomorrow. Does the hunger go away straight away or take afew days?

JelloFishy · 03/11/2022 20:24

Following with interest ladies!

I want to give it a go but worried about fatigue and work. I'm bloody knackered already.

Are any of you suffering from fatigue? Wondering if I should put it off until the summer holidays!

HermioneWeasley · 03/11/2022 20:49

@COL1N hunger reduction straight away. Eat lightly before you inject or you’ll end up feeling uncomfortable

@JelloFishy no fatigue for me

Hi ladies can I ask if you had much weight to lose? I have about a stone but had a hysterectomy last yr and am going through the menopause i can't shift this weight. I have a terrible sweet tooth as well, would you recommend?

whatever1980 · 04/11/2022 15:19

HermioneWeasley · 04/11/2022 18:29

@fatisnotafeeling I need to lose more than a stone - I don’t know if you’d be eligible if your BMI isn’t higher end of 20s?

i weighed myself and have lost another 1.5lbs so have lost 8lbs since I started

whatever1980 · 04/11/2022 18:46

Thanks @HermioneWeasley!

I find with Saxenda (and I take in the morning) I'm painfully hungry by 9.30am and need to eat my lunch early my 11. It then plateaus for the rest of the day but would be keen to get rid of that ravenous hunger first thing hence thinking of trying something else

Cantonet · 05/11/2022 08:43

@hermioneweasley do you know whether Myjuniper has any 1 mg pens in stock? My normal stockist is completely out of all pens and is now saying it's going to be an issue until next year.
I've lost approximately another kg this week & I have another two weeks worth left on my current pen. I've tried to reorder but the recommendation is to switch to Saxenda which I'm allergic to 😢.

notapizzaeater · 05/11/2022 08:51

My supplier is out of stock so suggested I moved back to Saxender short term till it comes back into normal stock again. I lost 5 stone with Sax, a further 1 one Ozempic so fingers crossed.

HermioneWeasley · 05/11/2022 09:02

@Cantonet I’m afraid I don’t know, but they are very responsive to queries

Thank you @HermioneWeasley. I will message them.

About a year but I've lived very well, with tons of holidays, nights out etc.

I think another 2 stone, I've started with an evil evil PT and lost lots of inches in the last couple of months but not as much weight

Guinefort · 05/11/2022 11:11

Hello 👋 I've just received my first pen of Ozempic in the post this morning and am feeling utterly terrified but excited at the same time.
I'm really, really hoping this might be the "will power in a bottle" that I so desperately need!

I have a serious sugar and crap addiction and I guess what would be termed disordered eating. The only reason I am not bigger than I am is because I am fairly active through caring for my horses and because I would eat bags of crisps/chocolate instead of having proper meals not as well as.

I'm 14.5 stone (5ft 9) and would love to lose 2 to 3 stone. I lost 2 stone a couple of years ago on Exante and felt fantastic and my mood was so much better. So much of my self-esteem/self-hatred is tied up with being overweight. There is a little voice in my brain that tells me how fat and disgusting I am hundreds of times a day because I can't control my food. I'm hoping for a total re-set. If I can just stop the cravings for sugar and carbs then maybe I can start eating and thinking (or not thinking!) about food like a "normal" person.

Can I just ask @HermioneWeasley and others that are already established on Ozempic, where do you think is best to inject? When it says front of thigh in the instructions does this mean middle of thigh between groin and knee (sorry if that sounds a really dumb question!).

Also what foods do you find cause the worst side effects? Is it ok to have a glass of wine occasionally?

Thanks so much for sharing your journey so far, it has really inspired meSmile

HermioneWeasley · 05/11/2022 12:33

Welcome @Guinefort . I have no precision about where I inject - I just jam it in the front on my thigh and it seems to do the trick. First time I did it I injected in my stomach and I wouldn’t recommend that. Honestly, it’s like someone has flicked a switch. I still eat and enjoy all types of food, but my intense sugar and carb cravings have gone, and I am not ravenously hungry all the time as I was before. When i do get hungry, it takes much less to make me feel full.

like you I had negative thoughts about how greedy, out of control and weak willed I was. Turns out, I just don’t have quite enough of this hormone to eat like other people do.

I really hope it works for you
