I started ozempic last night

Going to log my experience here as a journal and also to help others if interested.

having gone hungry to lose 5lbs earlier this year and then stalled because I’m always hungry, I put 4lbs back on. Being v pear shaped I never have a belly, but now it sticks out and digs in and clothes are uncomfortable. Doing more exercise makes no difference. It is clear that will power simply doesn’t work for me.

I took my first dose (0.25mg) last night. Woke up around 2.30 with pain at the injection site which passed. Was v thirsty so gulped water which just seemed to sit there. A couple of small burps. Got back to sleep. Weirdly vivid dreams. This morning, not particularly hungry first thing.

I have just taken my first injection. I hope overall I see results similar to so many of you 🤞🏻

Today I've had absolutely 0 appetite. It's really weird!

Week 2 and feel horrendously sick today! Also a little shaky and weak?! Has anyone felt this? Feel sluggish and Constipated too but the weight is dropping off so I'm gonna take it all on the chin! No appetite today again.forced myself to have a little bit of pasta hoping it would make me feel less terrible but it hasn't!

Can I join you? I have type 2 diabetes that has been getting increasingly difficult to control so I've started on Ozempic. I had the first injection yesterday. I have a bruise at the injection site which wasn't mentioned as a side effect, but I do bruise easily so perhaps it's just me. Also I have been farting like my arse is a hell mouth today, not a lot of farting but when I do the smell is horrendous.

Hi, I’m just about to do the first injection. Does anyone have any advice? If I’ve not eaten well today should I delay it until tomorrow?

I would just go for it Kfjsjdbd, I didn't think too much about what I had or hadn't eaten and the nurse doing the induction didn't mention it either. She did say it was best not to eat heavily in the late evening and to avoid fried or very sugary food if I was feeling nauseous.

She also said that it doesn't matter what time of day you do it or whether it's on a full or empty stomach, although she recommended that I pick the same time of day every week so that I'm less likely to forget.

Day 5 update - I’ve lost 8 pounds!!!! I’m thrilled but not feeling great and I don’t know whether it’s a virus I’ve had for a few weeks making me feel like this or the Ozempic. I’ve been getting headaches and feeling run down, yet conversely had awful insomnia last night :( I’m just going to have to put up with it as it’s a revelation not to feel hungry most of the time or have any sugar cravings.

Have you tried taking paracetamol or anything to help with feeling unwell?
Unbelievable in 5 days . It has taken me 5 doses to lose 10lbs and I'm still happy with that

Thank you! I do sadly have a lot of weight to lose though (5 stone) and I think the initial pounds come off quicker if you are bigger to begin with. I am also eating really carefully, trying to stick to under 1000 calories a day and have cut out sugar completely.

10 pounds in five weeks is amazing, that’s close to a stone! Well done!

I forgot to add that the appetite suppressant aspect is less strong today which I guess is inevitable as I’m approaching the end of my first week.

First injection yesterday. No side effects yet. I was already on 1500 cal a day and today I've done just over 1000 and have no interest in eating any more. I'm feeling optimistic having read the successes on this thread

Hi everyone! I took my first dose today. Curious as to when others felt it kick in and start to work?

It was my first injection yesterday. I always used to do 16:8 and miss breakfast, but since Christmas and having breakfast every day I’ve been hungry every morning. Not today though. I didn’t eat till 12.30 and even the many Christmas biscuits in the office didn’t tempt me. We had a fairly small dinner, and I’m not feeling hungry since either. So far so good. No nausea for me either I’m pleased to say. I’m definitely being more mindful of what I eat, I think because I’ve paid for the jabs!

@Abeachsomewhere that’s amazing, well done! I’ll probably weigh myself early in the week to see how we are going.

End of day 2. Zero symptoms. Still hungry so we shall see if next Tuesdays second dose improves things. I’m tracking everything I eat and I’m coming in around 1000 cals but I am hungry on it. Ad per poster above I’m usually around 1500 though….a slow start.

Wow, it’s great to see so many people on here and so many success stories!

@BellyDancer124 the effects were instant for me, but other posters have said it took a few days and on the low doses some people aren’t getting any appetite suppression at all.

That's amazing. I've lost 9lbs in two weeks.
I had a proper test last night - went for a meal and then to the pub. I was absolutely stuffed and left half of my meal.
I'm away this weekend and should have my third injection today but I'm leaving it until I come home on Monday - I've had a dodgy stomach this week and had to keep running to the loo. I assume it's the ozempic, but thankfully that's the only symptom I've had!

Congrats to those seeing significant weight loss. I'm really hoping it will be a game changer for fat ol' me, as well.

OK the day after my second injection and I think I'm finally feeling some effect. I keep burping and tasting last night's dinner which makes me think it hasn't fully left my stomach yet? And it just took me about 25 minutes to work my way through a smallish bowl of porridge. Fingers crossed this is it for me!!

Sounds like it @BryonyG That is almost identical to my experience.

I’m 24 hours in. No side effects yet, but also not sure there’s any benefit yet? I had breakfast at 9 and feeling hungry now for lunch.

My first week properly back on it after a Christmas/New Year break and I'm 6lbs down, I know most of that is water after a bit of indulgence but it's motivating anyway. Hoping that I can lose the rest of my excess weight and get down to a healthy BMI this year.
