I started ozempic last night

Going to log my experience here as a journal and also to help others if interested.

having gone hungry to lose 5lbs earlier this year and then stalled because I’m always hungry, I put 4lbs back on. Being v pear shaped I never have a belly, but now it sticks out and digs in and clothes are uncomfortable. Doing more exercise makes no difference. It is clear that will power simply doesn’t work for me.

I took my first dose (0.25mg) last night. Woke up around 2.30 with pain at the injection site which passed. Was v thirsty so gulped water which just seemed to sit there. A couple of small burps. Got back to sleep. Weirdly vivid dreams. This morning, not particularly hungry first thing.

I moved up to 0.5 dose today but I messed up the injection so not sure how much I took. I pressed the button for a few seconds and held the needle in for 6 seconds then before I removed it I realised the counter hadn’t gone to 0 so I pressed it again but it didn’t go to 0 the second time either. So not sure if I have had more or less than the 0.5 dose but I didn’t want to take the risk of trying again as I don’t want horrible side effects over Christmas!

LadyAstor · 24/12/2022 00:02

Is anyone taking a break from injecting over Christmas?

My next (0.5) dose is due tomorrow but I dont want horrible side effects over Christmas. Generally, if i eat anything fatty (e.g. chips), I get horrible nausia, indegestion and cramps, if i eat chocolate, i get diohrea.

7lbs lost so far though.

orangelotus · 24/12/2022 08:12

ladyastor- could you just delay it a couple of days? I think i read somewhere that as long as it's no more than 5 days delay you can just carry on? Is there any way you can check with your prescriber?
For me stopping me eating all the foods i want is a benefit as i'd usually gain( even more weight) over xmas. But then again i'm not even two weeks in and haven't had any of the awful side effects you are having.
Good luck whatever you decide to do

Thanks @orangelotus I have sent a message (last night) to my prescriber, but theyre closed now for Christmas. Ithink I'll delay by a couple of days., just to be on the safe side.

Happierwithouthim · 24/12/2022 21:38

I'd delay I'm sure it'll be fine, wasn't it fine when you started day 1 after all.

I'm due next injection mon eve I'm going to continue.

orangelotus · 25/12/2022 07:45

happy christmas to you all and thankyou for this thread. It's really helpful to see all your reports.

DrunkenSailor · 25/12/2022 07:48

May i ask which pharmacies have Ozempic in stock at present at a reasonable price? A cursory search has been unsuccessful

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 25/12/2022 07:58

It's expensive everywhere, seems to be about £200 a month. Juniper does £50 off the first month with a referral code (someone on the thread will have one) and I got the first month for £129 from manual, delivered quickly (though it's still in the fridge waiting for after Christmas) and after that it's £200 ongoing

StuckInTheUpsideDown · 26/12/2022 12:05

Everything went to pot yesterday. Ate so much and loads of carbs esp pastries, biscuits and cakes I haven’t eaten for months (have been low carbing). I normally take my injection ruin Sunday nights but decided to defer for a day. I told myself it was a one day thing only. But we’ve all said that before.

However.

This morning I got up and threw the biscuit box and cakes had been chomping through yesterday straight into the outside bin. (Fear not the family have access to plenty of other things- these were things they aren’t fussed on). Now am about to break my overnight fast with a low carb lunch so back on the wagon. This is huge for me and I doubt I would have the self control if not for the Ozempic.

Katrinawaves · 26/12/2022 13:31

I was the opposite @StuckInTheUpsideDown I was violently ill during my evening meal on Christmas Eve due to just having a little too much volume. So I had a single weetabix for breakfast on Christmas Day, then a small serving of lunch and a small plate of cheese with Call the Midwife. I thoroughly enjoyed what I had and didn’t suffer from any nausea at all which I was relieved about.

FrostedCupcakes · 26/12/2022 19:43

Hello!

Could anyone recommend a reliable site online to buy ozempic please? Hoping to get started and join in as soon as!

Happierwithouthim · 26/12/2022 20:33

Katrina that's awful
I find I'm nearly following the breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen, supper like a pauper
I'd two waffles for breakfast yesterday when dinner time arrived I found I wasn't really able for it and I'd a supper of slice of brown bread topped with sliced turkey and I was full up. No dessert so today I had the dessert with my turkey salad sandwich at lunchtime

HermioneWeasley · 26/12/2022 20:54

Hi @FrostedCupcakes welcome to the thread. A lot of us are buying from My Juniper and have a referral code for £50 off your first order. Happy to,share if you DM me, or there are others who can share theirs.

Thanks @HermioneWeasley I’ll DM you know :)

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 27/12/2022 06:58

Weekly weigh in today and a 200g / less than half a pound gain for Christmas week. Can’t complain about that. I have felt ok as well on week 2 at 1 mg. Some morning nausea but nothing major. Sleepiness only as to be expected after late nights wrapping. I was worried that Christmas dinner would be embarrassing (not eating much of the dinner my mil had cooked) but I probably ate about two thirds of my plate and then swapped plates with DH and it was fine.

I managed to get two pens sent to me (for a slight discount and one postage charge) so have supplies now for the next 9 weeks which is reassuring.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 27/12/2022 07:26

Hi all,
I hope you had a good break.
I took my first dose last week. It worked for the first 3 days and then wore off which I expected for the first dose.
I'm concerned that Juniper may run out as everyone will be dieting in January.
Does anyone know if existing customers get prioritised first?

orangelotus · 27/12/2022 09:29

good morning, hope everyone had a good christmas.
I am due for my third dose of0.25 msg this morning.
from the scales it looks like i am down a total of 5lbs since i started. As i ate peanuts and quality street yesterday that seems good to me.
Back on best behaviour from today !!

leilani83 · 27/12/2022 09:36

My weight is falling off but am also really not feeling great. Trying to motivate myself to eat and eat something healthy! Well done everyone for surviving Christmas!

Happierwithouthim · 27/12/2022 19:25

Third dose of 0.5mg last night & the awful nausea didn't appear this time so my body must be used to it, the sulphur burps are unreal but I can cope with that.

Orange great weight loss. You must be delighted

I've indulged in a few bits but no big appetite so portions are small anyway.

HermioneWeasley · 27/12/2022 21:03

@Happierwithouthim that’s great

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 28/12/2022 05:52

Horrible vomiting just now. This seems to have happened once for each new dose a week or two into the new amount. Hopefully that’s it for 1mg for me. It does make me wonder whether it’s a good idea but hopefully another one off.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 28/12/2022 08:38

Week one done for me and a 3lb loss.
I lost loads at the beginning of the week and then put most of it back on! Still happy with 3lb!
Second dose and I feel more nausea but manageable.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 28/12/2022 09:16

Thanks - I am fine now. I get all my nausea and the occasional vomiting in the mornings. Like pregnancy is supposed to be! (Much much better than pregnancy turned out to be for me in terms of sickness.)
