Going to log my experience here as a journal and also to help others if interested.

having gone hungry to lose 5lbs earlier this year and then stalled because I’m always hungry, I put 4lbs back on. Being v pear shaped I never have a belly, but now it sticks out and digs in and clothes are uncomfortable. Doing more exercise makes no difference. It is clear that will power simply doesn’t work for me.

I took my first dose (0.25mg) last night. Woke up around 2.30 with pain at the injection site which passed. Was v thirsty so gulped water which just seemed to sit there. A couple of small burps. Got back to sleep. Weirdly vivid dreams. This morning, not particularly hungry first thing.

I haven’t lost any weight this week again although my appetite has been less and I’ve definitely been eating less. I think I need to also look at what I’m eating as well as how much. I haven’t been too bad for side effects though I was a little sick this morning and my “digestive transit” is noticeably a bit slower! Injection 4 due tomorrow.

how long have you be on the drug?
have you lost some
weight?
I can imagine that's very disappointing if not .

I’ve been on it for 3 weeks. I lost 4lb in week 1 but nothing since

ashamed222 · 15/12/2022 22:31

3 weeks only!!
i don't expect to lose anything until week 4 so that's great!!
TBH not gaining any more weight is a plus in my mind
well done!!!

Happierwithouthim · 16/12/2022 07:29

@CloseYourEyesAndSee for me it's since my pregnancy 9 years ago, no issue losing the weight after previous pregnancy

Once a week my "digestive transit" is on speed @Katrinawaves Wink

Scales showed 14st 5 this morning which is 8lbs gone in 5 weeks.

Outset23 · 17/12/2022 10:23

So mine has arrived but my Gp said make an appointment and do the first dose with her. I’m not sure on side effects, at this stage do you think wait until after Christmas?

Can you inject into the stomach as I prefer that to the leg?

orangelotus · 17/12/2022 10:39

i took my first dose at the beginning of the week no side effects at all so far.
it is very very easy to inject it the needle is minuscule. There is a very good video on you tube of a diabetic nurse showing exactly how to administer it.
i am using my old scales as keep forgetting to buy batteries for the new set but i think i have shifted a couple of pounds - i think spending all that money on the drug has made me very focused on what i am eating .
I will report back when i take the next dose as well .

You can do the stomach but there seems to be quite a lot of anecdotal feedback out there that the thigh gives fewer side effects. Whether this is scientific I don’t know.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 20/12/2022 07:59

One week in to the higher dose and I am feeling better so have taken another one. Was considering cutting the dose for Christmas but am powering through. I have lost 100g since last week so nothing amazing but it is the week before Christmas and no gain at least.

orangelotus · 20/12/2022 08:49

i was just going to ask where everyone has gone?
Just took my second .25mg dose.
had absolutely no effects from dose one.
re weight loss v hard to tell because i'm still using my own scales and frankly they are so all over the place that they are completely unreliable.
Today i'll get batteries for the juniper scales.
Hope you are all doing ok?

Happierwithouthim · 20/12/2022 09:16

I took my second .5mg dose last night, this was my first time injecting into my thigh, because last week on this higher dose I was very nauseous.

Scales isn't down but I fit into jeans that haven't fit me since Nov 2021! I was out for a 3 course meal sat night and really struggled with the amount of food, had a few drinks too. So I'm not surprised scales isn't down.

leilani83 · 20/12/2022 10:49

I've been taking 0.75mg and I think I've had more side effects, though they are manageable. 5.3kg gone in 5 1/2 weeks.

well done that's wonderful!!!

HermioneWeasley · 20/12/2022 11:18

Thanks for the updates everyone.

I’m still not losing, but I reckon not gaining in December is good enough! I’ve been on 1mg for a few weeks now and I’m fine - occasional nausea and burping, good appetite suppression.

OP posts:
magicstar1 · 20/12/2022 11:24

I was on the 1mg for a month, but the pharmacist can't get it now. He managed to get me a .5, so I'll take that over Christmas, but he doesn't know if it'll be available in the New Year.

Happierwithouthim · 20/12/2022 12:53

For me injecting into the thigh made zero difference to the side effects, burping, nausea etc is every bit as bad today as it was last week and I feel tearful.

Hopefully this will ease next week, otherwise I can't see myself progressing to the next higher dose in a hurry.

Stillwearingskinnies · 20/12/2022 13:06

I feel the same @Happierwithouthim
2nd dose of 0.5 on Sunday & the nausea is absolutely awful. Although I also have COVID so I'm really struggling 😩

HermioneWeasley · 20/12/2022 13:24

@Happierwithouthim and @Stillwearingskinnies have you had any advice? Can you stay on low doses while your body is still adjusting?

for me, not letting myself get too hungry seems to help manage the nausea

OP posts:
Stillwearingskinnies · 20/12/2022 13:46

@HermioneWeasley
I think that's a good point, I'd be very reluctant to move to a higher dose due to the nausea. I will mention this to the juniper team. I'm going to try some toast this afternoon.
Thanks to COVID and now this nausea I've not eaten anything substantial for 5 days now. I hope I can manage a Christmas dinner on Sunday!

OliviaEmmaSmith · 20/12/2022 13:54

Is anyone else feeling really exhausted since starting the injections? I’m onto week 6 now and am still struggling with energy levels and coming home from work wanting to go straight to bed! I’m 6 weeks in and now on the 0.5 dose and am down 9lbs so I really want to keep going but this tiredness is making it so hard.

Happierwithouthim · 20/12/2022 14:51

Hermione I haven't spoken to anyone about it, I'll see how next injection goes.
I took motilium at lunchtime today so that has helped but the burping is something else Smile
Olivia I'm often tired anyway but I find I've one evening that I feel like you do per week, that's definitely a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Alstoybarn · 20/12/2022 16:33

Hi could anyone recommend a reliable site online to buy ozempic please? Hoping to get started and join in ASAP!

orangelotus · 20/12/2022 16:38

i bought mine on a recommendation from the OP on here.
The company is called Juniper.
The Op may have a code for £50 off but if she hasn't I have so happy to share it.
Full disclosure I would also get £50 off
