Going to log my experience here as a journal and also to help others if interested.

having gone hungry to lose 5lbs earlier this year and then stalled because I’m always hungry, I put 4lbs back on. Being v pear shaped I never have a belly, but now it sticks out and digs in and clothes are uncomfortable. Doing more exercise makes no difference. It is clear that will power simply doesn’t work for me.

I took my first dose (0.25mg) last night. Woke up around 2.30 with pain at the injection site which passed. Was v thirsty so gulped water which just seemed to sit there. A couple of small burps. Got back to sleep. Weirdly vivid dreams. This morning, not particularly hungry first thing.

@Parpetrator if you’re eating less your weight will come down, just stick with it!

End of week 3 on 0.25, up 0.4lb since last week, which is not surprising as I haven't been especially focused and appetite suppression gone. But still 5lb down since I started, so not feeling disheartened.

#marathonnotsprint - LOL at the idea of me being able to run a marathon, even a sprint would be a challenge!

Can I ask a question of those using Juniper? (I have also asked my coach, but always good to hear from those further along in their journey).

I have just taken my 4th 0.25mg does using my final needle. However I can see that the pen has more in it. It clearly states 0.25mg pen and 4 doses, but 4 x 0.25mg is 1mg and the pen contains 1.5mg.

Do I throw it out and wait for delivery of my next pen and start 0.5mg next week on the new pen? Or save it, click twice next week (with new needles)? I am conscious this stuff is expensive, at £200 a pen, I'm loathe to throw out a third of it! Also there's a shortage isn't there?

What did everyone else do?

Happierwithouthim · 06/12/2022 10:29

Penguin I'm also wondering that, have a gp appointment on Thurs so going to ask then.

4th injection last night, scales up 2lbs this week. Still down 4lbs overall and reading up on this apparently 0.25mg is just to get your body used to medication and no weight loss is expected.

It could be down to water retention from a drink thurs night, takeaway fri night, fryup(airfried) on Sunday though because my clothes still feel good.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 06/12/2022 10:32

They say you can use it for 6 weeks from opening. There are two 0.5 mg doses left in your pen. I used mine up by double dosing and saved a bit of money. Then you can get 2 0.5 mg and 1 1mg out of your 0.5mg pen.

LighterHeart · 06/12/2022 10:35

I squeeze out every click from every pen - have to be thrifty with how much it costs!

I took 2 x 0.25mg for my fourth dose and once I've had three doses of 0.5mg from the new pen I will take 0.5mg + the remaining 0.25mg from the old pen before moving onto 1mg, if that makes sense. Don't throw anything away!

ashamed222 · 06/12/2022 13:35

I see some people have said it also decreased the appetite for alcohol?
Does that apply to everyone?
My biggest downfall is white wine so anything that helps me stop guzzling that would also be great

PenguinTattoo · 06/12/2022 15:30

Thanks all, my coach said to dispose of pen and even sent me recycling details! I will use every drop! :)

Happierwithouthim · 06/12/2022 15:33

Penguin coach is probably on commission Grin

Katrinawaves · 06/12/2022 16:00

What do people do with their sharps bin when it is full? Mine still has some capacity left but I was wondering how to safely dispose of it when I need to.

I don’t know about everyone. But yesterday I decided to treat myself to a bottle of beer. Drank a third during the football, left the rest as just didn’t want it.

My diabetic consultant is trying to get me on a different medication, saying they are not taking any more semaglutide patients atm.

yellowfloss · 07/12/2022 15:25
