Diet for Christmas challenge

OhFatty · 24/07/2022 15:30

I know it’s boiling hot and far too early but does anyone want to start a Christmas diet?

I’ve got a LOT to lose and in June I set myself a target of 4 stone by Christmas. So far I’ve lost 1 stone 3, so starting today my new target is going to be 40lbs by Christmas (although more would be very welcome 😀) My weigh day is Monday. I’ll update here every week, and hopefully some others will join me?

You have my sympathy wuthering. My DS was an awful sleeper and it was that that caused me to pile on weight, I lived on sugar and caffeine.

LaTangerina · 30/09/2022 08:00

@yearyearofthefat that's brilliant you're doing so well! I'm glad the bread tip helped. I have the whole family eating the 60 calorie bread now 😀
I'm still going with the diet. I'm so close to my goal of 8st. Last weigh in I was 8st 6. I'm going to stop as soon as I reach the 8 & eat to maintain.

WutheringShites86 · 30/09/2022 08:12

Thanks @DreamingofItaly2023, it really does crush any willpower some days!

DreamingofItaly2023 · 30/09/2022 08:18

I’m feeling very down about my weight today but I just need to get back on the wagon now I am feeling better. Am going to calorie count from tomorrow until Christmas. If I do that I can hopefully lose a few kg at least.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 30/09/2022 08:20

Just looked and it is 12 weeks until Christmas so am aiming for between 8-10kg loss.

MuddyBoo · 30/09/2022 09:08

Amazing progress @yearofthefat and well done for being close to your goal, @LaTangerina.

Hope you start feeling encouraged again @DreamingofItaly2023, 12 weeks is still a good amount of time to make progress, and every step counts!

For me the bad news is that I felt really stressed yesterday because I'd messed something up and was awake a lot of the night worrying about it. Which then gave me a dodgy stomach.

The good news is that I'm 2lbs lighter this morning. Which I know is a bit of an artificial loss but I'll take the positives where I can get them.

Thanks @yearofthefat, I'm feeling better now and put right what I can.

Start of a new month! My aim this month is to get under 10st, so 6lbs to lose which should be doable, and ideally I'd like to lose more, but it is also my birthday this month so a few treats will be happening.

@yeayearofthefat thank you! I did start in March though to be fair so I'm a lot of months ahead of you all, I only hopped in here not long ago to cheer you all on! I'm also short so my ideal weight/BMI is probably a lot lower than anyone even slightly taller.
I weighed myself this morning I'm 8st 5, so I have 5 more pounds to lose before I reach my target. So looks like I'm going to be doing this a lot longer because I've only lost 1 pound in the last 2 weeks. Its coming off me a lot more slowly now. To be fair there have been a few days I've eaten over my calories...yesterday I had a large slice of Victoria sponge! I'm so close now I feel like I deserve it but need to make that final push to get there, because then I can just eat to maintain.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! x

My Sunday Weigh in for the list @OhFatty : 10st6

4lbs off since last Sunday so I am back on track now. Phew!

I think I'm beginning to see a difference in the mirror now. My arms and my face look a bit slimmer than they did in the summer. It's encouraging to see.

LaTangerina · 02/10/2022 08:30

@MuddyBoo wow that's a brilliant loss, well done! 🎉

SnowyMouse · 02/10/2022 11:08

Today I weighed in at 11 stone 4, which is 2 lb loss this week (25 September), 12.75 lbs loss overall.

WutheringShites86 · 02/10/2022 11:11

No change for me this week, still 15st for the list @OhFatty. Still no improvement with DD's sleep and my motivation is suffering for it.

Well done to @MuddyBoo and @SnowyMouse, great results for you both!

SnowyMouse · 02/10/2022 11:17

Thanks. STS is better than a gain though @WutheringShites86 !

WutheringShites86 · 02/10/2022 11:22

True @SnowyMouse. I'm not giving up completely but think I need to be realistic about what I can manage at the moment so I don't set myself up to fail.

SnowyMouse · 02/10/2022 11:24

What's your goal loss, @WutheringShites86 ?

WutheringShites86 · 02/10/2022 11:30

I didn't set a specific goal for this thread @SnowyMouse. I need to lose around 5st to be in the healthy weight bracket so I'm on the long road. I have mfp set to 1lb a week calorie deficit because I love me food too much to cut drastically. 7lb loss since I joined the thread I think.

SnowyMouse · 02/10/2022 11:41

Ah, ok @WutheringShites86 . I like having small goals as well as the overall one. My goal is 20 lb before Christmas, I think I'll hit it.

WutheringShites86 · 02/10/2022 11:43

I'm glad your Christmas goal is in sight @SnowyMouse 😊

SnowyMouse · 02/10/2022 11:52

Thanks!

Stepcount · 02/10/2022 13:38

@OhFatty 2.4lbs loss this week- taking my total loss to 15lbs since starting about 7weeks ago. Just over 8lbs lost in September. The aim this week is to get down into the next stone bracket. Aiming to lose at least one more stone before Christmas.
well done to everyone, some great results. 👍☺️

SnowyMouse · 02/10/2022 14:31

That's a great loss @Stepcount !

Stepcount · 02/10/2022 16:17

Thank you @SnowyMouse . I’m a little surprised it added up to 8lbs this month. It’s felt like it’s come off in small amounts but I guess that’s when it all adds up.
You’re doing very well too. 💪🏻

SnowyMouse · 02/10/2022 16:19

Thanks, I know what you mean by it adding up!
