Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right into July! Reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself! It’s going to be a Sizzling Summer!

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating to LOSE or MAINTAIN. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable). It’s a journey, not a destination.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why? You can do it, if you really want too!

Well done @Benjispruce4! And amazing pic.. I've lost 19lb this year so far, which I worked out in blocks of butter (inspired by a poster on here).. a little over 34 blocks! It's mental when you think how/where that weight was be carried!

Sports day picnic has been packed. I found a veggie sweet potato/black rice salad pot in the co-op which is about 250 cals, I've also packed a punnet of grapes/apples, a tub of veggie sticks, a small pack of crisps (normally for a picnic I'd buy a sharing bag or tub of pringles) and a pack of cookies (50-odd cals each).

Feels relatively sensible 😬

Dinner tonight is lasagne - not the healthiest with the cheese sauce, but we don't have it often, and I will have mine with a large salad (DH will have garlic bread).

Have a good day all!

ImALittlePea · 06/07/2022 07:50
  • was being carried... 🙄
schratching · 06/07/2022 07:54

Hi! I want to join please. Want to lose 5 kilos by end of august

ginsparkles · 06/07/2022 08:06

Hello, a quick touch base from me. Sorry for the absence. Given all things, I am happy to report a maintain.

This week is awful Ddog is getting worse. We are all so sad. Trying to make healthy choices where we can

giatta · 06/07/2022 08:26

WoW
1.6kg down from last week.
SW 83.3kg
CW 78.5kg

BlueSilver23 · 06/07/2022 08:42

@fallfallfall @SanFranBear I think I know I will have to weigh regularly at some point. I know my starting weigh was just over 80kg as I was weighed at the doctors office! I am relatively tall but I still dont like being the overweight category and feel uncomfortable at this weight. I might carry on for a couple of weeks as I am with the exercise and healthy eating just to get in the swing of it without getting depressed and falling off the wagon if the scale doesn’t move, and then start regularly weighing and tweaking things.

@ginsparkles Im new here but I’m sorry to hear about your ddog. It’s just heartbreaking isn’t it? All we can do is love them and try our best to look after them while they are here.

Slightlystressedbride · 06/07/2022 09:00

Morning everyone! I'm 1lb down from last week although that could be anywhere between 1.5lb and 0.5lb because myfitnesspal has got rid of the sodding decimal point on the progress tracker Angry
I've been too lazy to change apps so far (hoping they will bring it back) but if anyone can recommend a weight tracker (that displays a decimal point!) I'd be interested!
I weigh daily at exactly the same time and my scales are quite new so I'm confident they're accurate. Agree there's no point weighing more than weekly if you have analogue scales/less precision. I find it quite interesting how much my weight can fluctuate day to day, clearly based on water retention. I'm quite good at predicting now what I'll be given what I've eaten/drunk the day before!
@fallfallfall can I outsource my wedding dress shopping to you please?? Grin

buzzofthebumblebee · 06/07/2022 09:05

Awwww @ginsparkles give your beloved pooch some extra cuddles from the bee's

You are only 1lb off @Benjispruce4 - well done. & thanks for photo. frightening to think of the damage all that fat has on your body - heart, joints, etc etc. I'm pleased to still be 20+ lbs off when I first joined here in Sept. (I could still do with loosing 5lbs fat off each leg/thigh alone !!)

Think you made great choices at your picnic @ImALittlePea . well done! lasagne OK if portion controlled, and always good to not deny yourself anything.

Well done on loss @giatta !!

No losses here to report. But on the plus side I'm exercising - 30km tough mountain bike ride Sunday (sit bones NOT of steel !!) and then 5km run yesterday. Trying to calorie burn to compensate for eating more than I should at weekend ...

Have a good day everyone

buzzofthebumblebee · 06/07/2022 09:10

Well done on loss and forthcoming wedding @Slightlystressedbride ... how exciting. Big fan of Say yes to the dress <can't believe I've admitted that out loud in public>. Gok's my favourite. He gets right under the skin of the bride, and their dresses are all about how the feel, not how they look. Are you a seamstress @fallfallfall ? Clothing is so clever how different styles can transform.

Vic1234567 · 06/07/2022 09:22

Benjispruce4 that's a really interesting picture to see! Well done also on you loss.

buzzofthebumblebee no loss for me either, just one if those weeks for me, I have just snacked too much. No gain either, so I'll take it and now move forward. Have a lovely week everyone 🙂x

Chatterbox89 · 06/07/2022 09:31

Hi all, only a slight loss for me this week as I haven’t been very focused, weighed in at 9 stone 6. I need to up my exercise and perhaps get back to properly tracking and weighing everything again. @Slightlystressedbride i use the app weight diary, the icon is a white scale and you can display the weight in pounds, kilos, or stones and lbs with a decimal point so it’s quite good 👍

plan for me today is porridge and berries for brunch, then some toast with houmous, and then off to see a friend later for dinner so fingers crossed I can choose something healthy ish off the menu!

ginsparkles · 06/07/2022 09:34

Well done on the losses folks!

@ImALittlePea lasagne is a firm favourite here. dd loves it, so we make it with low calorie sauces and like you I have a small portion with a huge side salad.

Thanks for the kind thoughts @buzzofthebumblebee and @BlueSilver23 .... we are taking her tomorrow to say our final goodbyes.

Adversity · 06/07/2022 10:54

One week in here and I weighed myself and am 9st 12 and 3/4 ilbs., I was 10st 1lb last week.

Upped exercise and did a 7 mile walk plus 2 bike riidexv of 6 and 10 miles. I also cut down to carbs once a day and apart from one hunk of cheese when making a cheese sauce have not snacked at all.

ListenLinda · 06/07/2022 11:03

Woah haven’t been on for a few days and need to catch up with the thread.

well done to everyone this week.
i’ve weighed in and lost 1lb, was hoping for more but had a ‘can’t be bothered’ takeaway the other day.
on it for this week though, good luck everyone!

TheRealHousewife · 06/07/2022 11:37

Good Morning 😊

Pleased to say my WOW the same as my weight on Monday, meaning my holiday loss has stuck.

Good visual @Benjispruce4 thank you for sharing. Well done on your loss and nothing beats the svelte feeling, nothing! 👍

@MiracleBaby2022 Your lunch looks lush 😋

@fallfallfall great weigh in👍 You’ll soon bust the 150 barrier!

@ImALittlePea Im proud of you for swerving the temptations! I bet you feel a million times better having abstained than the fleeting joy you’d have felt if you’d eaten them.

@BlueSilver23 Weigh as often or as little as you feel comfortable. At times I weigh daily such as when I’m fluctuating up and down but seem to weigh less often when my weight is more stable iyswim. For me I need to know where I’m at.

@SanFranBear good luck with your 10k walk and enjoy yourself at the theatre 🎭 I love the theatre but not been since covid.

@schratching Welcome to the thread. What do you intend to change/what is your plan? Failure to plan is planning to fail 😬

Hello @ginsparkles so sorry to read about your dear dog 💔 Sending a hug.

Well done on your losses @giatta @Slightlystressedbride @Chatterbox89 @ListenLinda 👍Even small losses are important!

Awesome exercise @buzzofthebumblebee 👍

@Adversity yes you got into the 9s! Well done!
I know the visual isn’t particularly accurate as some weight lost will be water but I think it helps. I’m

fallfallfall · 06/07/2022 18:12

a little upswing here to 154.7 but the trend continues to be downward although slow this month.

Adversity · 06/07/2022 18:29

Thanks @TheRealHousewife and @Benjispruce4 i feel tired today but I did a 2 mile walk. Want to keep the momentum going.

Cudz · 06/07/2022 19:03

WOW = 2lbs loss this week and down to 9st 9lbs. Very pleased with that and my end goal of 9st 6lbs for my August holiday is well and truly in sight!!!!

TheRealHousewife · 06/07/2022 19:13

@Cudz thats great news! You’ve done very well! Imagine how fantastic you’ll feel on holiday 🏖

@fallfallfall Im like you; when fluctuating I take into account the downward trend. 👍

You’re welcome @Adversity 😊

Had a change of menu. I’ve been in a lot of pain today with my back (think I’ve overdone the move more mantra) and the oh did our evening meal. So gf scampi, garden peas and oven baked French fries it was. Small portion but will have blown up my macro ratios 😬. Just going to roll with it.

@ginsparkles So sorry to hear this 💔

ImALittlePea · 07/07/2022 07:34

@ginsparkles so sorry about your dog 💔

Last night's meal ended up being bolognese pasta bake instead of lasagne as I realised as I was about to make the cheese sauce that I had no milk 🤦‍♀️

Struggling with motivation today, it's a bit bloody here but still ruddy hot.

Lunch - back to the usual cup-a-soup and veggies
Dinner - pea and asparagus risotto

TheRealHousewife · 07/07/2022 08:02

Good Morning 😊

@ImALittlePea I agree, the weather is weird at the moment. It’s murky dull & cloudy here and very muggy hot. Sometimes motivation does wane and it might be a case your body/mind might be telling you to ease up a bit. Your menu sounds tasty, I enjoy a good risotto 😋

@ginsparkles Thinking of you today 💔💐😢

Menu
Meal 1 - Mushroom Omelette. Small apple.
Meal 2 - Roast Chicken, carrots, green beans, broccoli & onion gravy.

Tea, black coffee & water. Pecan nuts.

Exercise
Part 1 - Yoga session
Part 2 - Try to hit step-count

Enjoy whatever you’re doing and do it with gusto 😬 oh … and don’t forget your liquid intake too! 💧

I forgot to post yesterday for WOW - I just got caught up in the news.
So my mini-target was to be 13 stone by 9th July and I've done it.
SW 15 stone
CW 12st 13
Loss 2lbs

My target now is to stay the same for the next two weeks. I'll be on holiday in France next week (a language course) and intend to be careful but still enjoy some bread cheese and wine! Then I'll have a few days to lose the inevitable gain.

Thinking of you and your dear dog today @ginsparkles

raspberrymeringue · 07/07/2022 08:47

Just checking in. You all seem to be doing so well. I was too scared to weight in yesterday. Had a workplace meltdown and scoffed 4 squares of a Lindt Lindor bar 😩. I would have eaten more but luckily that was all that was left. It didn’t even belong to me. The perils of WFH ugh…
