☀️THE SUMMER COUNTDOWN THREAD 2 ☀️

Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself in time for a Sizzling Summer!

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating to LOSE or MAINTAIN. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

@SanFranBear thats amazing, well done!
@fallfallfall I too have one of those DH’s.

buzzofthebumblebee · 17/06/2022 07:38

Huge relief for you gin. Take care. pLenty of R&R to get your back muscles relaxed again.

Congtats on your losses Fall & Sanfran too !! Such a motivational boost.

None for me though - scales STS all week, as in have not budged one bit, to the extent that I'm either lucky / unlucky (!!) or they are broken !!! I've been SO good this week too - in my proper dieting days this week's intake of food would have def seen a loss. Not now though? I'm OK about it though. But still annoying ; ) Think I've got a huge amount water retention going on. Plus very bad night sweats. Usually only happen after alcohol but there's been none of that this week (NSV). Maybe just the heat, but think menopause stuff. Shrug.

You have been through so much TheRealHousewife. Flowers

ButteryNuts · 17/06/2022 07:53

Well done @SanFranBear @fallfallfall

@buzzofthebumblebee it'll be the heat I'm sure. Thunderstorms predicted where I am this weekend so bet you'll drop when the temperature does!

Lovely menu as always @TheRealHousewife

@HouseofHolbein was this weekend your half marathon? If so send positive vibes!

milkfromthesleepycow · 17/06/2022 09:44

Sending not send 🙄

HouseofHolbein · 17/06/2022 09:59

@milkfromthesleepycow no it's next Sunday 26/6. It's too hot to train and I'm too busy with work anyway 😭😭 it'll be fine 🤞🤞

123ROLO · 17/06/2022 10:21

Tried on a bridesmaid dress last night, size 12 (which is what i usually buy for dresses) There was about a 7 inch gap on the back from closing it :(

They are giving me the spare size 18, so in 8 weeks I either have to lose enough to close that 7inch gap, or wear the 18.

But anyway. Happy Friday everyone!

123ROLO · 17/06/2022 10:23

Well done @ButteryNuts enjoy your bbq!

TheRealHousewife · 17/06/2022 11:44

@ButteryNuts That is Fanblummintastic my girl! Well done! Awesome 👏

@123ROLO is their sizing wrong? Are you still in size 12 for regular dresses? What are you inch measurements and weight (you don’t have to share). Something doesn’t seem right!

OP posts:
CrimsonAlligator · 17/06/2022 12:14

That sounds like a sizing issue @123ROLO. If it makes you feel any better, I’m a size 12 and had to send back something I ordered in XL the other day, because it was too small. There’s so little consistency between manufacturers that sometimes sizes are almost meaningless.

You can make a lot of progress in 8 weeks, but 7 inches does sound like it would be a challenge. Does the 18 fit ok?

Great progress @ButteryNuts !

ImALittlePea · 17/06/2022 12:40

Agree that sounds like a sizing blip @123ROLO can they source an in-between size for you or take the 18 in?

Well done for losses today, and enjoy your BBQ @ButteryNuts!

I weighed in with a 1/2lb loss 🎉 under half a stone to where I know I'll be happy to switch to maintenance. Had some lovely compliments last night at the theatre which is always a boost!

Plan today:
Lunch - cup-a-soup, veggies, greek yogurt and pomegranate (quelle suprise!)
Dinner - pizza (1/2 oven with pepperoni) with homemade chips and a salad. DH and I off for date night at the cinema tonight, normally our date night would be dinner and wine out somewhere but doing it differently today!

We have a BBQ with friends planned for tomorrow so that'll be an off-diet day, but I do find that I'm sticking to my diet more and more over weekends now I'm getting close to goal.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone! Plenty of water, especially in this heat!!

Weight I'm guessing I'm about 13 to 13.5 stone, sounds like a lot but I'm tall. Even when I wasa stick thin size 8 I was 11.5 to 12 stone. I'm not planning on weighing till I feel the first few pounds drop. Measurements I'm also not sure. I have dresses that range from 10 to 14. I would I'm upper end of a 12 bordering onto a 14 right now.

It could be sizing but the others seemed to fit okay, a bit snug and maybe not apple to fully close the zip, but nothing like several inch gap like I had

xogossipgirlxo · 17/06/2022 13:35

Happy Friday, Everyone ☀

@TheRealHousewifeno one offered me laparoscopy. I generally feel OK despite some bloating (like 2-2.5 kilograms before my period, I'd say. Depends on a month and what I eat. If I overindulge in Pringles, I get water cellulite etc. 🙄). So sorry reading your story 😓 This is awful disease and I still feel like it's not talked about enough, although they are trying to normalise it like PCOS, which is good thing.

xogossipgirlxo · 17/06/2022 13:38

@123ROLO sizing sounds really odd. Why don't they have size 14? All taken? Size 18 would require lots of alterations I'd guess.

TheRealHousewife · 17/06/2022 14:15

@xogossipgirlxo Thank you. Hopefully you won’t develop the full blown disease! I’m pleased it is being considered more. Too many women have suffered needlessly.

Well done @ImALittlePea ! How lovely you received compliments, it does tend to give a little boost 👍

I’ve melted into a little puddle 🥵 Not complaining 😬

Get the water in ladies 💦 👍

Hey all. Sorry been a busy old morning. Back really uncomfortable but it is what it is.

Gosh it's warm today!

Todays meals are:
Lunch was Moroccan Cous Cous salad with goats cheese
Dinner spicy beef kebabs on a bed of rice with some salad on the side.

Off work tomorrow, so planning on taking DH somewhere fun as it's Father's Day this weekend.

ImALittlePea · 17/06/2022 15:44

Oooh @ginsparkles can I have some please? Both meals sound super delicious!

ginsparkles · 17/06/2022 15:53

With pleasure @ImALittlePea ! The Cous Cous is from sainsburys, it was lovely actually. Mixture of normal and giant Cous Cous with some cranberries and raisins. So I added some goat cheese from the local farm shop and a green salad. Super tasty !

milkfromthesleepycow · 17/06/2022 15:57

I found these in Lidl- just over 100 calories. I haven't seen them since I was a kid!!

Not ideal food but very necessary for this weather (I'm Scottish but live in the south west- have never adjusted properly!)

LOSE IT! JUNE 2022 ☀️
Benjispruce4 · 17/06/2022 16:19

@milkfromthesleepycow they look cute and remind me of holidays in Spain. Lidl also do the coconut ice cream in a shell and that’s my favourite .
I’m lying down after a boiling day at school and a sweltering drive home. Car therm was 38!!
B- poached egg on seedy toast
L- crispy salad with olives and a little crumbled feta and pumpkin seeds, apple
LOADS of water!
D- BBQ salmon with with homemade , low fat coleslaw .

milkfromthesleepycow · 17/06/2022 16:29

38degrees is ridiculous!
Wish I had the money to put in air conditioning- fan and bowl of ice tonight
On the up side I want to drink water rather than eat 😂

fallfallfall · 17/06/2022 17:05

bonjour everyone :), i do love orange and lemon sherbert on a hot day.
oddly although where i live is known to be semi arid and heat has yet to arrive? but i'm totally okay with the cool moist air after living 30 years in a rain forest.
no plateau yet 157.9. and dh is happy to report his lowest weight as well while enjoying 1700+ calories a day...
so i will stick to the ongoing plan: delayed breakfast which results in 16hrs of fasting (crepes planned this am), veggies and hummus for lunch, and a open faced tuna melt for supper.
i'm sticking to rather light exercise (walk around the block and bike ride weather permitting).

TheRealHousewife · 17/06/2022 17:29

@milkfromthesleepycow they look so refreshing! I’ve never seen them before! Yes, I probably live under a rock (but definitely not a troll 😬) Enjoy!

@fallfallfall sounds like you’ve found your groove! Hope it carries on for you!

Pic of todays lunch = 380 calories
