Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

HardRockOwl · 14/07/2022 23:33

Food for today

Chia porridge with yogurt and berries

German rye bread with hummus, tomato and mozzarella

Banana
Pumpkin seeds

Piece of Wensleydale and cranberry cheese
Bowl of watermelon
Mandarin slices

Not the greatest day as just didn't feel like making dinner tbh!

Oh after holiday washing. It's the worst.

Today I ate...
B- bircher with berries and a peach
S- apple and 20 carefully counted out almonds
L- antipasti salad
S- nectarine and parma ham
T- will be a steak and some veg to be decided upon

strawberrybarn · 15/07/2022 21:49

Haha, and it poured overnight (yes, I'm lazy and left my washing out) - ggaaaahhh!

B griddled nectarine & pecans in vanilla ricotta yoghurt
S Gala apple & peanut butter
L 2 x sliced large boiled eggs on one slice of buttered protein bread (4g carbs per slice) with mayo and lettuce
S None
T roasted sweet potato salad with pine nuts, cherry tomatoes and green power dressing

I need to get back on track with water drinking.

strawberrybarn · 16/07/2022 20:52

Hello!

I'm missing the chat on this thread :-(.

Another good day - I'm back on track with water drinking and was very good with my eating. I don't feel very hungry in the heat anyway.

B Super fluffy pancakes & strawberry coulis - I was chuffed that my son ate this too!
S None, ate breakfast late
L Gala apple & peanut butter
S None. Resisted cakes & leftover party food (sandwiches, mini sausages, sausage rolls, sweets) at a 5yr oldest birthday party
T buffet at my Mum's. I swerved the crisps and baguette with butter and instead I had an avo, feta & olive salad, cold chicken, ham, smoked salmon, houmous, cheese, boiled eggs, mayo and cream cheese - yum!

I walked to/from the party today - it would have been very easy to take the car but we had a walk in the sunshine instead - probably around 2 miles.

HardRockOwl · 16/07/2022 21:00

@strawberrybarn yep it's tricky when there's only a few of us now! Let's hope more join in because it really is such a great plan and more people deserve to know about it

OP posts:
Megasaur5keeper · 16/07/2022 22:11

Hello! Good swerving the sausage rolls @strawberrybarn
Today was
B- super fluffy pancakes and strawberry coulis stuff, SNAP!!!! First time trying that one, very tasty it was too.
S- apple and almonds
L- chicken salad and a handful of chips
T- steak, caponata and over crisped broccoli
We went to Edinburgh Zoo and went to the new fish and chip place there- I had taken my lunch anyway but DH and Dd got food there and the chips were fabulous so I'm clocking it up as worth it.
@strawberrybarn - rzss have a giraffe trail at the moment round Edinburgh - there's an app and loads of giraffe statues to "collect". Loads of steps and something for kids to walk "for".

Definitely needing to up water drinking too, feeling somewhat sticky.

I do quite love the Method- husband said something last night about it looking very hard and that he is feeling down about his tummy too and also wanting to support me with it being hard. I haven't been finding it too bad to be honest. I would appreciate more help from him on the living beautifully pillar (not really being super goody two shoes about the whole pillars thing but there are piles of hoarded craft materials (old boxes basically) that are doing my head in. And are apparently really important... moan moan moan.
I am off to bed now. Hope everyone gets a restful night!

ElvenDreamer · 17/07/2022 06:03

Hi all, sorry for absence, it's been a crazy couple of weeks and food prep has gone out of the window so frankly I've been utterly rubbish and too ashamed to show my face! Been better the last couple of days though and ready to jump fully back in the circle today. We had guests over yesterday which meant the house was actually clean for a change which helps my state of mind! Plan to do my usual Sunday morning run shortly (off early before the day gets too hot!) and then we shall see, will report back later!
Glad to see people still hanging out in here 🙂

Megasaur5keeper · 17/07/2022 08:24

Weighed today- 1 lb off in 2 weeks, which is a loss but not much. Waist is now 32" which is 3 down from last time so something is going on but if I am totally honest I've been not so good with avoiding chips and scraps from child's plate on occasion. So not eating beautifully! Clearly not the time to move to lifestyle as I'm a bit disappointed in the loss.

Shall tighten up. On the upside, I had on a dress for work on Friday that would not have zipped up 8 weeks ago and while it was a little close on my upper tummy it zipped easily and did not burst so yay.

Off to food plan if I can get snuggly child off my legs.
Hope you enjoyed your run @ElvenDreamer

strawberrybarn · 17/07/2022 21:23

Second time I've written this reply today, grrrr!

I think that's a great result @Megasaur5keeper! You are relatively near your target, aren't you? I love the dress story, I've got so many lovely clothes I can't wait to fit into. Thanks for the RZSS giraffe trail tip! And I very much hope your husband sorts his craft boxes and joins you on LPM soon! I'm very glad you enjoyed the super fluffy pancakes, they are my new weekend staple!

Good to see you @ElvenDreamer, I wish my house was clean!

Its not that hot here yet (although we have now just been included in an amber warning, so expecting it), so life continuing as normal for now (albeit a bit topsy turvy with the kids and my DH off work & school).

My food for today:-

B Leftover super fluffy pancakes & strawberry coulis
S Gala apple & peanut butter
L Homemade rose harissa houmous & homemade paleo crackers (made with almond flour)
S None
T cubes of cheese and handful of mixed nuts (long story!)

Megasaur5keeper · 18/07/2022 08:35

Ah, do the pancakes keep OK? Because there's 3 of us and the recipe is 3 eggs for 4 people there was a fair amount of division going on which was pesky but of they are OK the next day would just make the full amount.

Stay cool every one 😎

HardRockOwl · 18/07/2022 09:22

Morning all

I'm feeling relatively ok so far today heat wise! We do have an air con unit downstairs though so that helps. I'm currently upstairs though on my bed with a fan on me. Considering going swimming ..

Weigh in today and I've stayed the same so still at a 2 stone 1 lb loss. I really do need to think of how to speed this weight loss up a bit! I know it's averaging out at a loss of 1.9 lbs a week but it's just like a snail pace. Just not sure how to rev things up a bit

OP posts:
strawberrybarn · 18/07/2022 10:09

@Megasaur5keeper, yes it's an odd recipe to halve/quarter, isn't it! I usually halve the recipe but use 2 medium eggs and eat over 2 days for breakfast (make all the pancakes and coulis and leave half of each covered in fridge) but this weekend I made the full recipe and my son ate lots!

@HardRockOwl, it's tricky isn't it! Can you plan a really strict week, following recipes & principles/pillars and see how that goes?

Remember to drink lots of water today!

HardRockOwl · 18/07/2022 10:45

@strawberrybarn yes - I really should just do a super strict week following the principles spot on. I've started today with porridge, nectarine, 1/2 banana and kefir yogurt and I've got my trusty waterdrop bottle to hand!

Still lying on my bed Grin

How are you finding it all since the holiday?

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 18/07/2022 10:46

I'll aim for 2 litres today as opposed to my usual 1.2

Louise Parker Method thread 2. All welcome

Sparker201 · 18/07/2022 13:10

Still here @HardRockOwl and well done for keeping this thread going - loosely following the plan at the moment and staying the same weight. Have been lurking on the thread for the last few weeks and cheering on everyone’s losses. Currently on holiday in Greece so again loosely following LP with lots of Greek yoghurt, salads, BBQ meat and fruit, interspersed with my “worth it” wine and daily ice cream, but laying off the stodge, pastries, breads and desserts so feeling like I’m winning 🤣 Will be back in the circle next week and going to try to stay in the circle as much as possible over the Summer holidays and get at least 1 stone off by the end of September.

strawberrybarn · 18/07/2022 19:37

@Sparker201, well done on keeping going while on holiday, I failed miserably at this! Where in Greece are you?

@HardRockOwl, did you get off your bed?! I'm doing well post holiday, thanks, just want to start losing proper weight again and not the weight I've already lost!

B griddled peaches (2 x small) and vanilla ricotta yoghurt
S a version of monkey toast (4g carb per slice protein bread spread with peanut butter & half a banana, mashed)
L Leftover homemade rose harissa houmous & homemade paleo crackers (made with almond flour) and 2 x carrots cut into batons
S 10 x cherries & 25g parmesan*
T chicken caesar salad (cooked chicken, romaine lettuce, shop bought caesar dressing & parmesan*)

  • parmesan = Asda Just Essentials medium fat hard cheese
Megasaur5keeper · 18/07/2022 20:16

Pretty bottle @HardRockOwl

Food times
b- bircher with that utterly bonkers citrus puree. I kind of liked it to a point, then it started hurting a bit... and Hazelnuts
S- couple of protein soufflés- lfl cookbook- red onion and cheese and an apple
L- mackerel and beetroot and orange salad and an iced coffee with tsp sugar (black but full fat caffeine)
S- almonds and strawberries
t- meatballs, broccoli and green beans.

Plenty of water... Still too hot. Also a top of risotto that the kiddo was having to check it was hot. Like everything else...
Hot hot hot

1.9lbs a week is pretty good as an average but the non linear thing is frustrating.

HardRockOwl · 19/07/2022 09:14

@Megasaur5keeper god I remember the citrus purée. It was a no from me.. far too bitter and I kept pulling a face as I ate it.

I've had coconut + kefir yogurt with nectarine, raspberries, seeds and mixed nuts for breakfast. Im going to try hard today to eat less carbs. I'm not exactly ramming them down me but there is room for improvement

OP posts:
Megasaur5keeper · 19/07/2022 09:25

It is a bit on the mouth puckering side... ha some more today and it was OK in a smaller quantity.

Sparker201 · 19/07/2022 12:05

Hi @strawberrybarn we are in Halkidiki - going home tomorrow sadly ☹️

strawberrybarn · 19/07/2022 19:56

I hope your journey home is uneventful @Sparker201!

B chocolate & raspberry bircher (made with Greek yoghurt, not soya)
S None

S Rowntrees watermelon lolly

Megasaur5keeper · 19/07/2022 20:40

S- protein soufflés (red pnion spinach and cheese in eggs)
L- pommy cobb salad
S- aubergine and ricotta dip with a couple of tortilla chips and crudités
T- beetroot, orange and mackerel salad.

Got my steps, did some circuits and went rollerskating. Very sweaty day!!! Hence all the salad.
