Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

Evening all!

Not updated for a few days as I'm just plateauing at the moment weight wise and it's irritating me! All I can do really is trust the process, keep going and see if I can get a loss for Monday. Too far in it now to give up and although I know logically that weight loss is not linear, it's still annoying!

Food times ..

Fruit salad with coconut yogurt and pumpkin seeds

2 babybels + cherries

Wrap filled with plant kitchen bbq pieces and salad and hummus

Walnuts

Avocado, tomato and mozzarella

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 08/07/2022 14:06

Afternoon all

Scales are moving a little in the right direction and I'm still as committed as ever to losing this last err stone and a half

Todays food so far ..

Kefir yogurt, porridge, chia seeds, strawberries, nectarine and blueberries

Wholemeal roll with halloumi and tomatoes + pumpkin seeds on the side (recent blood tests show I'm deficient in iron so I'm adding in iron richer foods where I can alongside taking prescribed tablets)

Cherries

OP posts:
Megasaur5keeper · 08/07/2022 19:52

That all sounds very tasty.
Hard to keep motivation over a long period of time, and you've done so well!

Today was
B- bircher with berries and nectarines
S- cherries and parmesan
L- chorizo and onion and cheese fritatta and salad
S‐ almond butter and apple
T- breaded chicken fillet and salad, based on the parmesan chicken in lfl.

Got my steps in and a good wee exercise session in this morning and am hopeful for lots of rest at the weekend. And some walking.

HardRockOwl · 09/07/2022 10:32

@Megasaur5keeper you've inspired me to have some cherries and Parmesan as a snack today! I keep forgetting about that!

Breakfast today was porridge, chia seeds, chopped apple, blueberries, peach and peanut butter drizzle. With a little pink grapefruit on the side to take with my iron pill to aid absorption!

Looks revolting but tastes nice!

Megasaur5keeper · 10/07/2022 17:22

Parmesan and cherries is a great snack.

S- crispbread, cream cheese and a nectarine
S2- apple and almonds
S3 (lunch having not happened- couple crackers and a tiny but of Wensleydale

Pondering whether my bad mood is hunger.

HardRockOwl · 10/07/2022 21:53

@Megasaur5keeper that sounds like a delicious menu today. And yes - I have been desperate for something sweet this evening. Keep looking in the fridge and cupboards and getting all cross with myself Grin

Pretty sure it was a combo of hunger heat and mild headache.

I made soup for lunch today which is clearly what I need... it is already toasty warm ... oh well.

HardRockOwl · 11/07/2022 13:37

Monday weigh in! Lost count how many a long time ago but I've been doing this for 3 and a half months now. Feels like forever sometimes Grin

Anyway, another lb off, taking me to 29 lbs in total now. 2 stone and 1 lb!

I'll take it. I'm on track for 4 stone off by November (my birthday) and this is the final destination for me. So I'll just stay on the train for now

Food so far ..

Soya yogurt with apricots and raspberries and pistachio nuts / pumpkin seeds

Rye bread with Greek feta spread, tomatoes and avocado. A few walnuts and dried apricots on the side for my stupid iron deficiency

OP posts:
Megasaur5keeper · 11/07/2022 17:38

Greek feta spread- sounds interesting and delicious.

Good going on weigh in too.

B- bircher with strawberries, a nectarine and rasps
S- apple and almonds butter
L- broccoli, leek and butterbean soup
S- nectarine and parma ham
T- turkey meatballs in tomato sauce and some veg. Not sure what quite yet though...

HardRockOwl · 11/07/2022 20:43

@Megasaur5keeper it is delicious! Quite tangy though but very nice.

B- wholemeal sourdough, cream cheese strawberries
S- cocoa covered almonds and strawberries
L- breaded chicken fillet and salad
S- apple and cheese
T- ratatouille, poached egg and 50g Wensleydale cheese

I went rollerskating today. That's a first. I have no broken bones!

HardRockOwl · 14/07/2022 10:24

I don't think I'd be brave enough to roller skate! Too worried about falling over and breaking something! Same with ice skating

Well, I'm still plodding along and still at a 2 stone 1lb loss. I'm going to try and have another lb off for Monday if I can.

Just had my chia porridge with yogurt and berries for breakfast

strawberrybarn · 14/07/2022 11:28

Hello!

Not many messages to catch up on, I'd say you've missed my chatter haha!

I got back from the sunny Baleriacs yesterday and am back on plan today. The least said about the last 8.5 days, the better. I had the chance to be reasonably good, but didn't make the most of it. Rather than choosing fresh fruit and natural yoghurt from the breakfast buffet (which I had planned to do), I went head first into eggs on toast/croissants and jam etc etc instead. We were half board and I didn't only make bad choices, I ate too much too.

I haven't weighed in yet - after a pizza late last night after we got home, I thought I'd wait until tomorrow.

I'm annoyed with myself but refuse to beat myself up. I have turned a new page and am moving forwards. So today has started with lots of water and Greek yoghurt with fresh raspberries & toasted hazelnuts.

I am reading your daily menus for inspiration, thank you.

HardRockOwl · 14/07/2022 13:56

@strawberrybarn yep it's very quiet in here now but that's always the way with weight loss threads I find. Lots of early enthusiasm but so so easy to fall off the wagon

Sounds like you had a great time! It's really hard to go away and stay on any sort of plan so all you can do is just enjoy yourself and resolve to hop back in the circle asap which you're doing

Fingers crossed for a weigh in you're ok with tomorrow!

OP posts:
Topazpearlagain · 14/07/2022 14:44

I am still here, slowly losing (1 stone 1.4lb now) and mostly in or near the circle. I have had a few comments from people noticing my weight loss, which is nice. I have been reading the UPF threads and am listening to 'A thorough investigation' on BBC sounds, all of which are inspiring me to make healthier choices.

Megasaur5keeper · 14/07/2022 21:15

Welcome back @strawberrybarn
Sounds like the right attitude to moving forward.

I've been trying to stick to meals from the books for me until I'm at my target- aside from anything else we were significantly in a rut with food and it's been good to get some new ideas. 4yo even ate curry from 6 week plan today which I'm delighted by.

B- bircher with blueberries, rasps and a nectarine.
S- apple with almond butter
L- antipasti salad from lfl,
T- chicken curry with spinach and cannellini beans (chickpeas is the recipe but I'm allergic,)

took cherries and parmesan with me, failed to eat them so having for supper which I'm also delighted by!!

Knackered.

strawberrybarn · 14/07/2022 22:50

Evening all! Glad to see you all sticking in here with me!

I've been busy at the washing machine today, I think I'm on my 6th load of damp & sandy holiday clothes now. Luckily, the clean washing is drying quickly.

B Greek yoghurt with fresh raspberries & toasted hazelnuts
S None
L Gala apple & peanut butter
S Handful of grated mild cheddar and handful of mixed nuts
T roasted sweet potato salad with pine nuts and green power dressing.

I didn't have a lot to eat today, too full from the past few days!
