Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

God I'm so starving today! I've had ..

Kefir yogurt, chopped plum and banana, peanut butter drizzle and pumpkin seeds

Low fat wrap filled with hummus, plant kitchen bacon, salad

Cherries + a pink lady apple

So I need something a bit more filling for dinner, may pop to shop and get some veg to roast

I was ravenous all weekend, so feel your pain

Today- smoky beans on toast (delicious)
Yogurt and an orange
Brocoli and leek soup
Cashews and an apple
Sole and cauliflower cream with asparagus (also delicious)

And had a wee skate. Fell on my arse which is likely to be very sore tomorrow.

Was down to 10st 4 lb on Sunday which is somewhat motivating me to keep on at it. And it is still rainy.

ElvenDreamer · 20/08/2022 19:23

How's everyone doing? Just thought I'd report a little win of getting through a social BBQ evening with friends where I had a Jack fruit burger (no bun), some vegetable and halloumi kebabs, asparagus, corn on the cob and just drank water. I didn't feel hard done by as it was all really enjoyable and proved to myself I didn't need the alcohol to get through a social occasion too.

Megasaur5keeper · 20/08/2022 21:54

That all sounds good. My husband has decided to join the lpm and is currently overthinking living well in relation to storage.
We had a nice meal out on Thursday and I stepped out for a glass of wine.
This week has been tricky- approaching period and I'm just worn out.
Today I ate:
Skinny benedict
Chicken ramen soup from 6wp
A ham sandwich quarter and some bread crusts at a kids party (also 4 grapes and a strawberry
Cherries and almonds
Prada chicken and broccoli- and a tablespoon or two of risotto.

Feeling very carby needing today and other than walking have done no exercise since Wednesday for worn out reasons. Its really cooled down here in the mornings and evenings!

ElvenDreamer · 21/08/2022 10:33

@Megasaur5keeper love a bit of overthinking 😂 but good to have your husband on board I imagine, mine drives me potty by questioning my food choices, and telling me he loves all the bits of me I detest, I mean that's a good thing obviously, but not when I don't want to think about them! On the other hand he has helped recently overhaul large parts of our house to create a nice living environment so I can't really complain...just need to convince the kids to keep it nice now...

Started today well with my usual Sunday run with my daughter, around 4k, then eggs and avocado on whole grain. Shortly I am off with a friend to a vegan wellness and weightloss spa for 24hrs, this is very much pushing me out of my comfort zone, (I was invited by my lovely friend) and I'm more than a little nervous but I guess it should definitely be good for me!

HardRockOwl · 21/08/2022 14:31

I'm back! I've had a few days decidedly out of the circle. No more pissing about now though.

@ElvenDreamer well done for your victory at the BBQ! They're always tricky to navigate

I've had an on plan breakfast of soya yogurt with peanut butter drizzle, raspberries and chopped banana

Lunch was a super healthy superfood salad of brown rice, garlic, edamame beans, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, black grapes, feta, kale and cashews dressed in olive oil and lemon juice. Trying to make up for the tub of ice cream and pasta yesterday!

I've recommitted myself to getting this next 20 lbs off and I'll be back to daily posting.

Megasaur5keeper · 23/08/2022 19:44

ElvenDreamer · 26/08/2022 20:20

Hi folks, camping in the in the Peak District for a long weekend so food is a bit hit and miss, but epically active! Yesterday hiked up into the Peaks, today was a 15 mile bike ride, tomorrow a whole day hike is planned. Using the time to really find my happy head place out in nature and hopefully continue he good mood and remain active when I return!
@HardRockOwl I love pomegranate seeds in salad, they really liven it up. @Megasaur5keeper thank you for a cauliflower rice reminder, I often have courgetti but I think I'd forgotten about the cauli rice possibility!

Megasaur5keeper · 27/08/2022 12:40

That sounds brilliant @ElvenDreamer . Fresh air, lovely nature.
I'm at 10st on the nose which is the lightest I've been as an adult I think. Tried on a pair of pleather leggings today to celebrate and just can't quite decide- think they were too shiny.

The cauliflower rice is quite good with curry tbh.

Thursday we went out for an Indian meal which was probably a step out as I had naan; yesterday was a very tupperware day owing to work stress

B- bircher with fruit
L- left over chicken tikka and salad with a lemon and yogurt dressing
S- nectarine and parmesan
D- venison steak and slaw.

HardRockOwl · 29/08/2022 16:19

I'm still here! Clinging on after a week of not good eating. The circle was a distant memory

I have pulled myself back up though and I will continue. I recognise my old patterns of behaviour and I'm not failing again.

Todays food so far

Greek yogurt with dried cranberries, pecans, peanut butter drizzle and pumpkin seeds

Wholemeal roll with a tofu hotdog, hummus and tomatoes

Green apple + peanut butter

Not sure on dinner just yet!

I took a photo the other day - new jeans, size 12. I know I'm hardly like a wafer thin mint but I took the pic to remind myself of how far I've come and how I mustn't throw it all away now

@HardRockOwl you look so slinky!!! I like the jeans and top too. It's really clear you've lost heaps.

I know you've been at it a while and it feels never ending - it's really not that long against the context of many years of up and down though.

Food today
Fruit bircher (saves thinking) and a tortilla chip to see if it was too burned.
Aubergine ricotta and now walnut dip and a couple of tortilla chips
Broccoli soup with butterbeans and pistachio
Strawberries and almonds
Chorizo and chicken stew with green beans

Started a new class of exercise, its good fun. Sore today though.

HardRockOwl · 29/08/2022 20:40

You've done so brilliantly @Megasaur5keeper - you're at my goal weight! And I've still got over a stone to get there Shock

You're right though - it feels like a long time and of course I'm feeling it a bit now. But I feel SO MUCH BETTER when I just stick to plan. So today I did that / dinner ended up being a nourish bowl thing and I'm going to plan properly for tomorrow

I'm be walked 5K today and eaten properly and I think I might make some overnight oats for tomorrow!

We all know planning is key!

Hello all! I was here way at the beginning but I didn’t last! I haven’t read the threads but I’m so impressed that you’re still here. Especially you @HardRockOwl, this frog needs to become an owl! That’s amazing tenacity.
I crashed out of the circle last time because I didn’t manage to plan ahead enough, because of a social life and because I was too much in the habit of a glass of wine in the evenings. I’ve broken the wine habit now but planning and routines I still expect to be a challenge. Still, despite over complicating it and not staying in the circle and being on holiday for 3 weeks il’m only 1.5lbs heavier than I was at the end of June so I’m taking that as a win!
I need to read back through the thread but I am def planning to get back in the game!

ElvenDreamer · 02/09/2022 19:52

@Firsteatthefrog planning is everything isn't it, that's where I've been falling down too. I guess we just keep trying and celebrate every little win.

Better day today, yogurt with bran and berries, chicken salad, cous cous salad, oat cakes and a babybel. Will have one more small snack this evening as I'm starving!

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy · 02/09/2022 21:10

Hi all I'm still here KOKO.. I've stepped out that circle more times than I can remember but currently back in it ..

Food today:
B: yoghurt with nuts, blueberries and seeds
S: Babybel
L: low GI roll with cheese & an apple
S: smoothie with yoghurt, banana & strawberries
D: homemade sourdough pizza & salad

Megasaur5keeper · 02/09/2022 21:49

Happy Friday people
Serious lacking motivation with exercises right now. Getting on with it but just feeling a bit bored.

Anyway today I ate
Some avocado hummus on toast with an egg
Almonds and a nectarine
Barley and bean soup
Bean burgers with avocado hummus and salad
Cheese and an apple

Which is fairly similar to what i ate yesterday as the soup and burgers made 2 lots of 2 portions.

Megasaur5keeper · 23/09/2022 22:09

Hello anyone who is still here... its been a bit quiet. Hope everyone is doing OK!
We had a short break and somewhat random food but a fair bit of messing about in woods which was nice.

9st 12lb, thinking about going back to basics to get another 7lb off.
Frozen planet is distracting me from an early bed...

ElvenDreamer · 24/09/2022 07:07

Hi @Megasaur5keeper , I nearly posted last week but forgot in the end (trying to do less phone time etc too.) I'd had a good couple of weeks and was genuinely starting to feel good about myself, less tired too. Then this week happened, I'm not sure exactly what triggered it, stressful few weeks with kids and work, feeling a bit hormonal, and had 3 days straight where I basically ate junk. Feel like I've slipped right back, today I feel horrible and bloated and need to remind myself of how good I felt the other week and get the heck back there!

Megasaur5keeper · 24/09/2022 12:05

It's just three days, they are done and you can "u-turn" whenever! Life is bloody hard sometimes and it doesn't take much for the whole house of cards to fall down I think. And then one ends up eating random stuff at random times.
I've been nicking too many mouthfuls off my child's plate for no real reason other than its there which is the opposite of mindful beautiful eating!

Today so far has been
Skinny benedict
Cream cheese on 2 ikea ryvita things and strawberries
Lunch will be bean and Barley soup.

Need to fit steps and an exercise blast in also which should be doable as being outside today seems a nice idea.
I got a lot of sleep on hol, but less movement than I've been used to recently and I'm feeling a bit jammed to be honest
Also frantic at the thought of planning food and activities around work.

ElvenDreamer · 24/09/2022 20:35

You are so right. So today I u turned. Breakfast didn't happen as I felt bloated and wasn't hungry. Had oat cakes with a little cheddar for snack, lentil curry for lunch, apple and banana 'breakfast' muffin (sugar free) for snack, and now prepping a big plate of vegetable sticks and something protein based for tea, either some cooked meat or sardines. I will run tomorrow morning as per my once a week habit. Totally feel you as regards trying to plan food and exercise round work, everything is crazy atm for me too, just trying to limp through the next few weeks as best as possible.

Megasaur5keeper · 25/09/2022 19:56

@ElvenDreamer - How's the day been?
I started off with pilates which was fun. I ate-
B- skinny benedict
S- yogurt and an orange
L- antipasti salad and crusts off a slice of white toast ( tell me you have a small child without telling me you have a small child
Couple of Brazil nuts, spoonful of scraped chocolate from the bowl (was making chocolate Brazil nuts
S- an apple, almonds and 2 chocolate Brazil nuts
One oatcake and butter and cheese
T- venison stew (adaptation of "gan gan's pot roast" )with romanesco, hazelnuts and a wee bit of butter.

I'm feeling very full and sleepy now! Also about 2000 steps off my target for the day, but it is cold, wet and miserable here so I'm not going back out!
Planning on getting organised for going back to work tomorrow instead. Haven't looked at email at all so I have no doubt I'll be going back to chaos.
This tends to curtail my random eating also.
Hoping for an early bed...
