Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

Hello all good to see so many of you keeping on keeping on! Well I did the initial 6 weeks, list 9lb, then stepped outside the circle for the last 4 weeks Blush happily I've only put 2lb back on and I'm feeling very motivated to start my second 6-week plan!

Today I had:

B: Greek yoghurt + Brazil nuts, almonds, seeds and blueberries

S: a chunk of Wensleydale with cranberries and some almonds

L: a low GI roll with cheese and salad and a massive apple

S: strawberry & banana smoothie

D: baked fish with ratatouille and green veg

HardRockOwl · 27/06/2022 21:49

@NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoByAgain ooh hello again! Good to see you back! And brilliant news on only putting on 2 lbs. You'll soon have that off. And yes - I am so buying some Wensleydale with cranberries tomorrow!

Just flying by to say, I'm back on track woo hoo! 0.8kg/1.75lbs lost this week = 2.7kg/6lbs in 4wks - its not the fastest but that's ok and I'm under 17 stone (by 0.2lb!) for the first time in a very long time!

1w to go until my week's holiday!

HardRockOwl · 28/06/2022 09:02

@strawberrybarn yay well done! Definitely back on track! And just think ... if you lost 4 lbs every month, you'd be 48 lbs lighter in a year and nobody would turn that down!

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 28/06/2022 09:07

Weighed this morning and yay - I have hit the 2 stone off! Not quite sure how as all i seem to do is eat

So I now have 1 stone and 13 lbs to go ... and that is if I'm wanting to aim for what will be quite low for me really but middle of the BMI chart. So I might as well as I'm in it now.

I was 50 (ugh) last November so I'm aiming for a total of 4 stone off by the time my birthday comes around again. And I think that's achievable now. Just wish it happened a bit bloody quicker and with a little less effort

Breakfast has been a strawberry soya yogurt, fresh strawberries, coconut shreds and peanut butter drizzle.

I'm all out of my homemade breakfast cookies but think I'll make a fresh batch shortly as they were very good and make a bit of a change.

OP posts:
strawberrybarn · 28/06/2022 11:16

Hang on@HardRockOwl, I'll just PM you my address for a batch of cookies! 😂

Ace news on the 2 stone, what a brilliant milestone!

I bought Whole Earth peanut butter drizzle yesterday because of you! Like I need an excuse to eat MORE peanut butter!

HardRockOwl · 28/06/2022 17:27

@strawberrybarn I sometimes squeeze a bit of that peanut drizzle straight in my mouth, just for lols. It's absolutely delicious

Food times today ..

Soya yogurt, strawberries, coconut and peanut drizzle

Apple slices and peanut butter

Sourdough sandwich with cream cheese, spring onions and tempeh bacon which I made myself

Cherries and watermelon

I've managed to resist the chocolate covered mango today so that's something!

Not sure on dinner yet. I think it'll be quinoa with feta spread and salad bits

OP posts:
SnowWhitesSM · 28/06/2022 17:43

B - two oatcakes (because there was only two left in the packet) and two teaspoons of peanut butter.

S - costa iced coffee

L - feta, tomato and basil salad

S - forgot to eat a snack

T - garlic and heb sizzle chicken with salad. Gave dc rice with it. Did have two beetroots with my salad which I don't think is on plan but I like beetroot!

strawberrybarn · 28/06/2022 21:12

Cripes@HardRockOwl, don't tempt me!

I'm sure I've seen LPM recipes with beetroot@SnowWhitesSM, I'm certain that it's ok.

My food for today, a good day!

B griddled nectarines & pecan with vanilla ricotta yoghurt
S apple & peanut butter
L chorizo, cottage cheese, mixed nuts, leaves, extra virgin olive oil & balsamic drizzle
S None
T homemade saag paneer

Loads (well, at least 2 so that's loads...) of lpm + beetroot!
Yesterday I ate- b- more mixed beans on toast,
S- rye crisp bread and cream cheese and some strawberries
L- mackerel dip and veggies again- made it up with the pack of mackerel I had which is 4 x the recipe
S- cocoa covered almonds and raspberries
T- chicken chorizo and chickpea stew from lfl, with haricot beans instead of chickpeas (allergies)

I did not forward plan the amount of beans in one day.

I also had an oat cake with cheese because my child was dancing on my last nerve and it helped.

Back to work today so 3/5 meals are packed up in little boxes...

Gensola · 29/06/2022 17:27

I have tonsillitis :(

B - boiled eggs, avocado and spinach
S - iced Americano with Oat Milk
L: tin of sardines with left over fennel and tomato salad + a bowl of skyr with berries and crumbled protein muffin
D: Indian something - what is on plan from Indian?!

Gensola · 29/06/2022 17:27

I’m so glad beetroot is ok as I adore it!

strawberrybarn · 29/06/2022 20:49

Sorry to hear about the tonsillitis@Gensola, usually I'd recommend ice lollies or bananas in custard, but these are not very LPM compliant!

I've got some mackerel in the freezer@Megasaur5keeper, thanks for the inspiration.

Food for today:-

B griddled nectarines & pecan with vanilla ricotta yoghurt
S apple & peanut butter
L avo mashed with lime, garlic and chilli flakes on one slice of buttered wholemeal toast & cherry tomatoes on the side (see pic)
S 3 x tiny plums and 2 x Babybel
T Asda mango & coconut chicken with mayo, mixed leaves, extra virgin olive oil & balsamic drizzle

A new low on the scales today, just need to keep the momentum up!

@Gensola boo on the tonsillitis. Shame you can't have lots of ice cream to soothe it!

@strawberrybarn well done in seeing new lows on the scales. Always motivating isn't it?

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 29/06/2022 23:03

Food times for today ..

Porridge with banana and strawberries and peanut butter

Chocolate covered mango - I ate an entire bag. This only consisted of 5 pieces but still ... I'm stopping now with this stuff!

Sourdough sandwich with homemade hummus and salad

Watermelon
Ice lolly

Quinoa with halloumi and veg

Such a boring day food wise: I didn't feel inspired at all so tomorrow I will be better

SnowWhitesSM · 30/06/2022 08:45

Yey, weighed today and I'm now 11.10 and 3 quarters! Finally got under 11,11 (just!).

Yesterday I was in the circle and did 40 lengths. My swimming and cycling have really improved and I'm back to work Monday as my sciatica is loads better.

Today I'm having sugar free granola and full fat milk so not in the circle but I'm off to a pilates class and a swim/sauna after. Will have lunch at the gym with my friend and order something carb free and full of protein and good fat.

Megasaur5keeper · 30/06/2022 18:43

Yay @SnowWhitesSM ! Great that sciatica has improved, and on weighing.

Today food was
B- bircher with berries
S- cocoa almonds and some cherries
L- cajun spiced chicken salad
S- is still in the fridge at work 🙄
T - will be turkey patties with warm pomegranate slaw shortly.

I recently discovered I was not as I had previously thought allergic to almonds so I am essentially trying out a lot of snack options that were previously off limits. So there's a lot of almond and almond butter going on...

HardRockOwl · 30/06/2022 19:36

Well done @SnowWhitesSM

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 30/06/2022 19:41

Quinoa, more hummus and salad, tomatoes

OP posts:
SnowWhitesSM · 30/06/2022 21:23

Thanks guys

I need to get on the peanut butter drizzle 😍

HardRockOwl · 01/07/2022 16:41

Afternoon all

Forgot to have lunch which isn't like me!! Probably because I was really late having my breakfast

Anyway - so far today I've had ..

Porridge with Greek yogurt, blueberries and mandarin segments

Cherries

2 pieces of dark chocolate covered mango

So now I'm thinking about something a bit more substantial!

Slinking back in after a 'day off' yesterday. It wasn't planned and I've put on weight overnight :-(.

So it started off that I was super hungry overnight & I don't get hungry very often now. It was real knawing hunger. So I had a piece of wholemeal toast with peanut butter for breakfast...then 2 x more slices. That was enough to hit the fuck it button and I had a massive slab of birthday cake (which was shop bought and not nice), a homemade cookie and half a pack of tortilla chips. No lunch.

Then I went out for a pre theatre tea and I had the cheek to have something relatively on plan (see pic) then fecked it all up again by having sweets & chocs in the theatre.

In my defense, its a weird time - we were all finishing up work & school yesterday, had a big trip to the theatre to see a touring West End show planned and are getting organised to go on a rare family holiday next week. However, I'm cross and disappointed with myself - I'm about to go on holiday and want to feel as slinky as possible!

@HardRockOwl, how's the chocolate covered mango withdrawal going? I googled this and couldn't find it, where do you buy it from? Is it expensive?

Brilliant news on the weight milestone @SnowWhitesSMand I'm glad you are feeling better.

@Megasaur5keeper, you've reminded me that I love turkey burgers! Do you have a recipe for thr pomegranate slaw please?

strawberrybarn · 01/07/2022 18:04

Pic of tea (torn mozzarella, parma ham, cherry tomatoes and basil with sourdough)

Louise Parker Method thread 2. All welcome
Megasaur5keeper · 01/07/2022 18:59

@strawberrybarn - it's in lfl, about quarter of a savoy cabbage which you cook in a big frying pan for about 6 mins, adding wee splashes of water every couple of mins, then when it's soft you put a sliced half apple through it , stick on a plate and chuck some pomegranate seeds on it all with lime juice. It's nice if you like cabbage.

Don't beat yourself up. It's a process and one day off won't ruin all the progress you've made. Hope you have a lovely slinky hol.

Today I am exhausted.
B- bircher with nectarine and berries
S- aubergine dip and some tortilla chips from 6 week plan
L- cajun chicken salad again which merged into snack as people were talking at me from 150 to 330
.t- prosciutto wrapped chicken, tomato bail salad and asparagus
