Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

@SMUnz welcome. And yes, it's super easy as really, the principles are just eat three meals a day and two snacks. Of course there's a little more to it but I've found it very straightforward so far

Breakfast today! Porridge with chopped apple, nectarine, chia seeds, pistachios and a peanut butter drizzle

Your breakfasts are always so interesting & inventive @HardRockOwl! Is the peanut butter drizzle just runny/squeezy peanut butter?

My shape is really changing just now, my husband asked where my bellygut had gone today as it is noticeably drastically shrinking! My weight is dithering about, but my body is definitely changing.

B 125g Yeo Valley natural yoghurt, strawberries, raspberries and a sprinkling of keto granola
S apple & peanut butter
L spreadable smelly cheese & black grapes on v. low carb M&S super seedy crackers (that taste of dust, but the cheese was amazing!)
S None
T Itsu vegetable gyoza & homemade dipping sauce

Welcome @SMUnz, have you bought/borrowed the LPM books?

Looking at my breakfast again @strawberrybarn , it looks like I've absolutely covered it in peanut butter. Grin Ots just the perspective I promise!

It's the new ish Whole Earth drizzler so it's ideal to squeeze on. Mind you I could eat gallons of peanut butter tbh

Good non scale victory there though! Refresh my memory - how much would you like to lose?

I'm back on it from tomorrow and staying in the circle. This week has been a write off as all I've done is go out for food and drinks. Haven't gained any weight though so the bike rides paid off.

Have prepped overnight oats and made tabbouleh for dinner tonight and have enough left over for my lunch tomorrow. I'm meeting with friends and going to a family friendly festival so will take my tabbouleh with feta and salmon and stay the fuck away from the burger van and the beer tents 😂

SMUnz · 25/06/2022 04:36

@strawberrybarn thanks for the welcome…no I don’t have any of the books but I’ve looked online and have found what look like the ten or so principals

HardRockOwl · 25/06/2022 10:50

@SMUnz it's quite simple once it all clicks. There's only 4 pillars to it though - basically .. eat beautifully , think successfully, live well and work out intelligently

So make of that what you will 😀

In reality, it's about not eating sugar tbh. And there's no rice or potatoes or pasta on plan - not really.

I've done ok so far, lost just shy of 2 stone in 12 weeks and I've rarely felt hungry - and that's the main thing for me. I hate feeling hungry!!

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 25/06/2022 10:51

I would try and get any one of the books though as it really helps to understand the thinking behind it

SnowWhitesSM · 25/06/2022 11:15

@SMUnz I think its on the first page of this thread there is a free pdf version of a book. That's the one I've used.

Megasaur5keeper · 25/06/2022 19:22

Hello! I've been lurking for a couple of days and working up bravery to join in.

I'm going into week 6 of round one tomorrow, having danced out of the circle at a work function yesterday night... the food was not too bad but there was also wine, which was almost worth it. Anyway 1st fortnight 6lb off, 2nd 2 ld (portions might have been too much) and I will be happy with no gain this fortnight. 11st 6 at the moment, 5'3" and I'd like a stone more off fo I'm here for a bit I think, at least one more round.
Total was ranch eggs, a salad with black pudding and bolognese in peppers for meals and really GOOD cheese and and apple snack.

strawberrybarn · 25/06/2022 23:35

Hello @Megasaur5keeperand welcome! 8lbs in 4w is brilliant, well done! Please tell me more about ranch eggs?!

Today involved a McPlant burger, a Magnum, fudge, sweets and bagels. HOWEVER I should say that my teens and I went to our first Pride and it was ace, a real place of celebration and love. My young gay teen felt happy and accepted and I was so pleased to be a part of it. I could have stayed (& did start the day by staying) on plan but I kicked back a bit to enjoy the day, mindfully and am happy and ready to get back on board tomorrow.

How did you get on at the festival @SnowWhitesSM?

I am around 17st still @HardRockOwl so have a long long long way to go. It's going to be a journey for me. I was 2.5st heavier in November last year, so I'm getting there s-l-o-w-l-y. I find it too difficult to think about the total still to lose so I am concentrating on small victories/aims. I have a special event in late September which is my new goal, I'd love to be 15st by then (or as near as dammit).

HardRockOwl · 26/06/2022 10:43

Fudge? Sweets? Bagels? You eat the best food @strawberrybarn 😜

@Megasaur5keeper that's a great loss, especially considering you don't have an awful lot to lose. As I approach the 11's, I find the losses seem slower but then, when I look at it over a period of weeks and not just week to week, I can see it's relatively consistent.

Made some cookies the other day from my new vegan cookbook so I've been having a couple of those each morning as they are 'breakfast nutrient bomb cookies' so they're nice with yogurt and fruit.

Basically, they're oats, oat bran, little honey, coconut shreds, seeds, mashed banana, cinnamon, chia seeds and baking powder. They're delicious actually so will definitely make them again

Oooh recipe please @HardRockOwl they look delicious!

Megasaur5keeper · 26/06/2022 14:38

Ranch eggs is "Ale's huevos rancheros " from lfl cookbook breakfast section. Very nice but messy.

I wish I'd measured before I started- I've been doing the exercises too and I feel smaller; jeans are much looser also so that's positive.

Next Sunday is my DD 4th birthday - it is also final day of week 6 so I feel this will include a number of worth it's and a measurements for round 2!

Just stopping by to say hi. I lost about 5lb then unexpectedly was offered a new job and life is chaotic while I transition. I've been in and out of the circle but have maintained the loss and will be trying to lose more once things stabilise.

@HardRockOwl those cookies look delicious!

Megasaur5keeper · 26/06/2022 19:53

Does anyone who is doing the exercises from the 6 week plan understand the point of "hippies" ? I feel like I'm doing something very wrong- there is a definite burn with all the others but I just do not get this exercise.

Thanks for the kind words @HardRockOwl !
Today lunch was super random from the buffet at birthday party (and snack come to think of it) but rest of day was chocolate rasp. Bircher, cream cheese on 2 crispbreads and chicken and ratatouille

HardRockOwl · 26/06/2022 20:03

Recipe for the breakfast cookies. No measuring which was good. And all on plan bar the maple syrup. I used just a squeeze of honey - and I substituted the cranberries with coconut shreds

Highly recommend though - it makes 8 cookies and I've been having 2 for breakfast

@Megasaur5keeper you'll be hard pushed to find someone here doing the exercises in the book 😀 I think I maybe glanced at them once! I've heard they're quite tricky?

I basically just go swimming most days. I listen to a podcast and swim up and down until I've burned 500 calories according to my Apple Watch. And then I get out. It's probably not good enough in terms of exercise but I think that daily swimming HAS to be doing 'something' and it'll have to do for now.

@PrincessCarolyn congrats on the loss. And congrats on the job! Hope it settles for you soon

Those cookies look so good! Thanks for the recipe @HardRockOwl!

Sorry, can't help on the exercises @Megasaur5keeper, I am failing miserably on that front just now. I need to work on this after my holiday. Thanks for the ranch eggs recipe, I've got the cookbooks so I'll look it up. And enjoy birthday preparations - that's a lovely milestone to work towards for the end of your first LPM cycle!

Great news on the job @PrincessCarolyn, I hope things settle down for you soon.

My food today:-

B 9.30am super fluffy pancakes & raspberry coulis. I accidentally doubled the wholemeal flour in this recipe so I was very full and skipped lunch
S 11am apple & peanut butter
S 6.30pm Starbucks decaff skinny latte & handful of mixed nuts
T 8.45pm Yo Sushi salmon & avocado poke (see pic). I just love a yellow stickered bargain!

Good luck to anyone weighing tomorrow (mine is Tuesday).

Morning all

Another 1 lb off for me this week. So that's a total of 27 lbs. Can't believe the scales couldn't be good enough to give me just a little extra 1lb to make my 2 stone!

Anyway I think I'll tighten stuff up this week as this is bloody slow going to be honest - or it feels that way! I have been eating half a pack of chocolate covered mango as a snack each day and also a solero type lolly. Although they're on replacement of my usual Louise approved snacks, they're a bit naughty really so that's an area I can tighten up on a bit

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 27/06/2022 11:21

Started the day with my remaining breakfast cookies and soya yogurt with strawberries

Have just had a snack of fruit salad and mixed nuts even though I was desperate for the chocolate covered mango

Food times for today

2 breakfast cookies
Soya yogurt
Strawberries

Mixed nuts + fruit salad

Sourdough sandwich with beef tomato and red pepper hummus

2 pieces chocolate covered mango - yeah yeah .. couldn't resist!

Quinoa with mozzarella and salad

@HardRockOwl the exercises are okish. I did bodypump and pilates a lot pre baby and pre covid and many of the moves are familiar from that, but the descriptions of what you do in the books are hit and miss. I like most of them. I did a round and a bit before my pregnancy too so the lfl ones live in my muscle memory!
I was being very inactive and it was making me incredibly sad and these are a start.

Well done on the loss- very annoying scales though. Rude almost!

Food today- mixed beans on toast ,
Almond butter and apple for snack
Mackerel dip for lunch with veggies,
Aubergine and ricotta dip and tortilla chips for snack from 6 week plan and chilli for dinner with avocado yogurt, cheese and some more tortilla chips for tea.
Very hungry, for the first time in a few weeks. Ho hum.

strawberrybarn · 27/06/2022 20:48

Well done on the loss@HardRockOwl, just because it's not 2st on the nose, doesn't mean you've not done brilliantly! How many blocks of butter would you still be carting around if you hadn't started LPM?

Your food today sounds lovely@Megasaur5keeper!

B 9.30am super fluffy pancakes & raspberry coulis
S 11am apple & peanut butter
L Tesco sushi salmon with sriracha mayo & crispy onions + lots of strawberries
S 2 x Babybel
T Gino D'Acampo Aubergine Parmigiana (yellow sticker!), leaves, extra virgin olive oil & balsamic glaze
