Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

End of 2nd cycle weigh in! Can't believe I've managed 12 weeks actually sticking to a diet! Unheard of tbh

So I've lost 3lbs this week ... this is the 2lb gain after my little holiday last week and another lb

So my total loss for 2 full cycles on plan is 1 stone 12 lbs ... so 26 lbs in total. Looks like I'm averaging almost a stone per 6 weeks.

I mean, I wouldn't say that it's absolutely flying off but 13lbs down every 6 weeks is something I can accept!

This should mean that another 6 week cycle should see me approaching something like a normal weight for the first time in a decade.

I initially started wanting to lose 2 stone as that makes me a comfortable size 12. But it also makes me still overweight.

So as Louise says .. I'm not getting off the train a stop too early so I WILL be a size 10 and - most importantly - I will continue to do everything I can to improve my health

@strawberrybarn sounds like you've got a good handle on it all. And I agree .. it would be easy to make each meal and snack have a carb element and I've been guilty of it in the past.

It's useful for when you're having a really hungry day though but on a normal day, I try and be mindful of it.

Ooooh is the quinoa recipe from your new cookbook @HardRockOwl? Or is that a Hello Fresh/Gousto recipe? 26lbs is 12w is very inspiring, well done! You must look and feel so different. Have you had to buy lots of new clothes?

Yesterday's food:-

B super fluffy pancakes with raspberry coulis
S apple & peanut butter
L Heck chicken sausages with melted cheese & homemade salsa
S None
T chicken fajita bowl (chicken, onion, courgette, yellow pepper, fajita spices, avo, sour cream, cheese & homemade salsa)

strawberrybarn · 21/06/2022 08:12

End of wk3 for me today, 0.2kg/just under 0.5lb gain :-(

I have a solstice beach celebration thing this evening (possibly outing!), I NEED to stay away from the hot chocolate and toasted
marshmallows!

ElvenDreamer · 21/06/2022 10:45

Sorry guys, I've been rubbish at posting, and frankly also a bit rubbish at keeping in the circle, but I shall keep trying! Here is the promised shelfie anyway!
Food today was bircher for breakfast, a ham salad for lunch and I have a stir fry recipe to make for tea.

I've had covid the last week which has impacted my appetite- finally back in healthy BMI but no thanks to Louise!

HardRockOwl · 21/06/2022 14:57

@keiratwiceknightly oh that's rubbish re covid. But small yay for the weight loss! How's the appetite now?

Excellent selection there @ElvenDreamer / I'll do mine just as soon as I can be bothered to get up

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 21/06/2022 14:59

12 week comparison pic. Don't actually think it's mind blowing but meh. It's small progress, even if you have to squint a bit

It’s definitely noticeable! Well done you!

HardRockOwl · 22/06/2022 14:53

Afternoon to all those who are still with us 😀 My aim is to make this a rare weight loss thread where the person who started it actually managed to lose the weight they said they would ... and the jury is still out on that one Grin

Food times for today so far

Porridge with chia seeds, strawberries, banana, oat milk and Nush almond based yogurt

Cherries

Sourdough sandwich with salad leaves, quorn, caramelised onion hummus and red pepper

3 pieces of dark chocolate covered mango 🥭

Too stuffed to consider dinner right now!

Gensola · 22/06/2022 15:45

I was out for dinner last night and stayed within the circle for food but had wine. Sadly the food disagreed with me a bit so I’ve had dodgy tummy today.

food today:
B: 2 eggs, German rye bread, mixed berries
S: apple and peanut butter
L: chicken, tomato, beetroot and broccoli
D: salmon fillet with quinoa, kale, feta, pepper, onion, cucumber and pistachio salad.

SnowWhitesSM · 22/06/2022 19:39

I'm still here, I'm just not in the circle at all!

Am going to make some overnight oats now to start off tomorrow on the right track!

strawberrybarn · 22/06/2022 21:57

So, I wasn't good at the beach last night. I had 4 x toasted GIANT marshmallows followed by a massive bag of crisps (I don't even really like crisps) then some sweets to finish off when I got home. Sheer piggery and I'm cross with my self sabotage. I watched all the ladies go in to swim at sunset and wanted to go with them. The only thing holding me back is my weight - the other ladies are all shapes and sizes but I find it too cold without a wetsuit and I'm not buying a giant plus size expensive wetsuit! To go in swimming is now a goal for next year!

Here's my food for the last 2 days (omitting thr above):-

B 100g Yeo Valley natural yoghurt (green pot) with keto granola, cacao nibs, flaxseed & vanilla powder
S Pink Lady apple & peanut butter
L small leftover chicken fajita bowl (chicken, onion, courgette, yellow pepper, fajita spices, sour cream & homemade salsa)
S feta & watermelon (both going off so not very tasty!)
T (Asda reduced) Gino D'Acampo salmon & Sicilian white wine sauce - 3g carbs. I had this with baby leaf salad with extra virgin olive oil & balsamic glaze again

B griddled nectarine & pecans with vanilla ricotta yoghurt
S apple & peanut butter
L BLTs - cos lettuce leaves filled with grilled bacon, mayo, tomatoes & boiled egg
S 2 x small plums & 2 x Babybel
T (M&S reduced) cauliflower & butternut squash ready meal (see pic)

Great shelfie @ElvenDreamer, most of my recipe books are in a pile in the garage as somehow records have taken precedence on our bookshelves!

@Gensola, I hope your tummy feels better soon!

@keiratwiceknightly, I hope you are over COvID now and your senses haven't been too dulled.

@SnowWhitesSM, good luck with your restart! Have you done much damage, weight wise?

@HardRockOwl, I don't have to squint at all, you look amazing! I am rooting for you to go a bit further on that train and not get off a stop or 2 too early! How much more would you like to lose?

I am not working from home tomorrow for the first time in over 2 years. I have lots of home visits to do instead so will be car based. I think I'm going to have to get up about 5am to prepare all my food for the day! Daunting! I'm so used to now being able to prepare and cook all my meals when I want them, rather than having to be organised!

I'm popping back to let you know that I have now hit the milestone of a 1 stone loss, taking me to 11 st 6 lb! I am definitely at the back of the class as far as Louise would be concerned, but am, mostly, in or near the circle. I will keep going as I would love to lose another stone. Well done to everyone who is keeping going or getting back on track.

HardRockOwl · 23/06/2022 16:31

@Topazpearlagain that's amazing. Well done you. You've done so well

@strawberrybarn ah well. It was a special occasion. But now I'm craving toasted marshmallows!

I ended up with a boring dinner. Yep t was an m and s feta salad and I added some asparagus and pistachios. Ended up picking out the asparagus as didn't like it much

Really trying hard to reach my 2 stone loss for Monday. Didn't swim today but went for a 5K walk to try and mix things up a bit

OP posts:
strawberrybarn · 24/06/2022 00:37

Well done @Topazpearlagain, that's the kind of inspiration I'm here for!

@ElvenDreamer, you make ace salads!

I had a bit of an odd day as I worked out of my house for the first time in a long time, visiting people at home. I did a lot of eating in my car, which I HATE (don't let my kids do it) and struggled with water/peeing but it was really good to connect with people f2f again.

B 125g Yeo Valley natural yoghurt, strawberries, raspberries and a sprinkling of keto granola
S apple & peanut butter
L salmon & avocado sushi
S 2 x small plums & 2 x Babybel
T (M&S reduced) chilli & lime sweet potato ready meal (see pic)

Fingers crossed for Monday @HardRockOwl!

@HardRockOwl well done in your weight loss, I hadn’t heard of Louise Parker before but it sounds so doable! And just bloody sensible! I will give it a go….I’ve put on 4 stone in two years 😧. Time to start reversing!

HardRockOwl · 24/06/2022 09:02

@strawberrybarn eating on the run in a car doesn't feel like you've actually eaten really does it?
