Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

You are doing brilliantly @HardRockOwl! Well done!

Today has been tricky for me as attended local village fete and as it was lunchtime, I wasn't organised and I was hungry, I couldn't resist the tea tent. I had a couple of small plates of mini sandwiches and small cakes and have since drawn a line. I saw a new low on the scales this morning (officially weigh in on a Tues) so especially cross with myself.

B Greek yoghurt, blueberries, toasted almonds & chia seeds
S 2 x babybels & 12 x cherries
L tea tent (see above)
S None
T Asda Finest burgers & homemade salsa

ElvenDreamer · 11/06/2022 21:08

Ugh, today I've mainly just picked at stuff, some good, some definitely not, and to be honest I've slightly lost track of what I've eaten 😭 I did have a good breakfast though, yoghurt with bran, flax seed and blueberries and a little stevia. Not really sure what happened after that!
Glad to fill the role of your 'salad pusher' though @strawberrybarn 😁

SnowWhitesSM · 12/06/2022 10:20

I drank beer and ate burgers yesterday 😂

HardRockOwl · 12/06/2022 13:11

Well I'm on the plane about to head home so will see when the damage is later! I did have goats cheese salad last night but had some fries with it. Oh and then a scoop of ice cream. I've had a scoop for the past three nights! But I've just had one in a cup - id usually have 3 in a cone! And I've not snacked particularly. Eaten to hunger I suppose

So all in all I don't think I could have done better really.

@HardRockOwl it sounds like you've done amazingly well for being on holiday!
Today I had egg and rocket on toast for breakfast, orange, feta and watercress salad again for lunch, husband did a curry for dinner and I had a very tiny amount of brown rice only in my portion. Snack were an all the ps smoothie and some fruit. Went for a run this morning, 4.6k, other than that have been fairly inactive as had an all day rehearsal but felt the run set me up nicely at least.

strawberrybarn · 13/06/2022 00:18

Late (& quick) check-in from me today:-

B super fluffy pancakes & strawberry coulis (see pic)
S 2 x babybels & plum
L out at garden centre - coronation chicken salad (see pic) - I left the bread
S decaff latte
T grilled halloumi with pesto and roasted veg (cauliflower, courgette, pepper, cherry tomatoes, onion, chilli and garlic)

Hi all, just checking in as I'm officially at the end of my first six weeks. I've lost a total of 10lb. The last week or so I've been pretty far out of the circle as sleep deprivation with the baby has been really getting to me so there's huge room for improvement.

However I'm really enjoying this way of eating and I love how it makes me feel. Progress not perfection!

I've got a lot more weight to lose so I'm going to be sticking around. Bring on round two, starting today! Feeling positive.

HardRockOwl · 13/06/2022 10:22

That's brilliant @GoodNutButters well done:

HardRockOwl · 13/06/2022 10:28

Well it was the moment of truth standing on the scales this morning.

2 lbs ON

AAGGHHHHHH

However.. I had 4 soleros, 3 ice creams, 2 bowls of pasta, fries, chocolate biscuits and bread rolls over the past 4 days when I think about it.

So even though I was careful and the above wasn't shoved down my throat in a day, it was certainly more than I've had over the past 2 and a half months. I also didn't do my usual 45 minute daily swim - floating up and down the pool doesn't count!

So I've decided to just regroup. I enjoyed the break, I stepped outside of the circle and I didn't go off the rails. And I'm hopeful that by next Monday's weigh in, I can have lost this 2 lbs

So I've started the day with porridge, chopped apple, a few strawberries, chia seeds and yogurt. I won't do anything like cut out snacks etc as I was initially tempted to do .. Ill just return to the plan

@HardRockOwl how long were you on hols for? 2lb doesn’t sound too bad!
I have a few events coming up this week and can’t decide whether to drink at them or not :/

HardRockOwl · 13/06/2022 11:40

@Gensola I'd like to say 3 weeks. The reality of it was 4 days. We hopped over to Portugal and lay by the pool and ate out every single meal

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 13/06/2022 17:47

Feeling back today on track today I think ..

Porridge, fruit, yogurt, peanut butter

Cherries + matcha latte

Low carb wrap with salad, quorn, hummus, edamame beans and tomato

Mixed nuts

Quinoa with red peppers, tomatoes, halloumi and salad 🥗

Already missing my scoop of rum + raisin!!

strawberrybarn · 14/06/2022 00:01

Another late check-in from me, definitely not on top of other self-care - digital detox, exercise etc, apart from food & drinking water!

B 1/2 avo & smoked salmon trimmings on slice wholemeal toast thinly spread with ricotta (see pic)
S apple & cashew nut butter (small amount!)
L homemade rose harissa houmous spread on cucumber (see pic)
S None
T mini cooked breakfast (sausage, bacon, fried egg)

I think you've done brilliantly @HardRockOwl & despite small holiday gain, think how far you've come since the end of March!

strawberrybarn · 14/06/2022 00:03

I forgot the pics (again!)

Morning all

I remembered to weigh (have I spelt that right it looks wrong) before having my morning coffee and I'm pleasantly surprised. 11.13 this morning. Considering I went up past 12 before the weekend, was in a beer garden drinking beer all day Saturday and had KFC Sunday, I'm very happy with that!

I have gone on a bike ride every day too!

strawberrybarn · 14/06/2022 07:43

Yay - 0.7kg (1.5lbs) off this week, so 2.1kg (4.5lbs) in a fortnight. 3w until my holiday so would love another couple of kg off by then, got to keep trucking!

Well done on the bike rides @SnowWhitesSM, I need to dust off my bike!

SnowWhitesSM · 14/06/2022 07:52

Well done you too @strawberrybarn and your food photo's look delicious 😋 . Also yes dust off your bike! I've been having so much fun on mine.

I even went for a bike ride hungover Sunday 😆

strawberrybarn · 14/06/2022 19:56

Thanks @SnowWhitesSM !

B vegan chocolate & raspberry bircher (does anyone else think this recipe makes a HUGE portion? Maybe she means to have some as leftovers?)
S very disappointing latte (see below)
L (this wasn't what was planned but had about 5 mins flat to make and eat lunch) 2 x leftover gluten free sausages, a couple of thin slices of Double Gloucester cheese, some leftover homemade salsa & 1/2 a cucumber, sliced
S 12 cherries & a handful of mixed nuts
T (Asda reduced) Gino D'Acampo salmon & Sicilian white wine sauce - 3g carbs for the whole thing. I had this with mixed leaves & balsamic (see pic)

I had a very disappointing takeout latte from a cafe today - see pic! It tasted miserable and wasn't worth the carbs (!!) or calories. I wish I'd realised what I was buying/drinking before I did!

GoodNutButters · 14/06/2022 20:16

@strawberrybarn yes it's huge, I always cut right down on the amount of yogurt (and I use dairy Greek yogurt). Love it though!

Well done @HardRockOwl you've come so far since you started, and progress is never strictly linear!

SnowWhitesSM · 14/06/2022 21:19

How was the salmon @strawberrybarn and what a load of rubbish in a shit latte!

B scrambled eggs in a mini wholemeal wrap

S loads and loads of edam cheese, about 5 slices!

L hummus and chicken in a mini wholemeal wrap, pot og grapes.

S completely off plan - ice cream and more cheese. All I want is cheese today!

T chicken salad

Another 12 mile bike ride and took dc swimming this evening. Feeling good and resisting the rest of the edam!

Gensola · 15/06/2022 07:37

@strawberrybarn that’s so annoying, I can’t believe what they’ve put in there!

I had 2 glasses of wine at my work garden party yesterday but apart from that stayed
within the circle for food:
B: homemade pancakes from oat/banana/milk/egg/vanilla with fruit and skyr
L: sea bass with beetroot, cucumber, tomato and couscous
S: apple and banana
D: Moroccan chicken salad, 2 falafels, baba ganoush, 1/2 a pitta
maybe couscous and pitta need to go…

HardRockOwl · 15/06/2022 10:12

Ooh that latte doesn't sound particularly good! I used to have a daily costa habit which I've managed to knock on the head this year. I was buying an iced peach tea every single day as well as a hot chocolate for my son at least three times a week when I picked him up from school. It was costing me about 40 quid a week. So I've weaned myself off and haven't bought any this year

Weight has returned to what it was before my little holiday so that's good. So I'm working towards 2 lbs off before Monday. That's the goal

I do need to reset a bit though tbh. Flick through the books, double down on it all. Complacency is not going to get the last 2 stone off

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 15/06/2022 17:23

Food times for today

Porridge, peanut butter, yogurt, chopped apple and banana

Cherries

2 slices of wholemeal toast with mushrooms in a light cream cheese and black pepper

1 piece of dark chocolate covered mango

Not sure about dinner but I think it'll be quorn 'chicken' pieces with salad and halloumi

OP posts:
strawberrybarn · 15/06/2022 19:04

It wasn't even a nice latte! It tasted all chemically and disgusting.

B grilled nectarines & vanilla ricotta cream
S apple & peanut butter
L rose harissa houmous and a few almond crackers (see pic - didn't eat all these!)
S watermelon & feta
T Vietnamese pork salad - 6w book (see pic)

The pork salad was so tasty, I highly recommend it! And I think it would work with quorn pieces or tofu too. My food in general is super tasty just now, must be because I'm not dulling my tastebuds with all the sugar & carbs!

My portion sizes need work though.

Well done on losing the holiday lbs @HardRockOwl, it usually takes me 3 x as long to lose it as it does to gain it!

@strawberrybarn finding your food really inspiring!
B- poached eggs with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and courgettes
S - 1 small protein pancake with spoon of Greek yog and handful of blueberries
L- coley fillet with harissa, broccoli, salad and melon & pineapple salad
S - iced oat milk latte and coffee and walnut cake (see below)
D - quinoa, chickpea, cucumber, red onion, pistachio and radish salad

I had a slice of coffee and walnut cake at a work leaving do and it was so sweet it made my teeth hurt and I felt sick after it, then had a massive sugar crash and felt tired and drained. So I feel like maybe I have broken my sweet tooth! I have no desire to repeat the experience.
