Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

Hi all

I'm really struggling to eat 3 meals and two snacks at set times. I've been signed off for another 6 weeks due to my sciatica so maybe it's that that isn't helping. Although I've got so much spare time that really it shouldn't be a problem!

Today I had brunch - 3 slices of bacon, 1 egg, handful of mushrooms and a handful of cherry tomatoes.

Just got back from a bike ride. Only 5k, I'm not allowed to over do it.

Drinking a coffee and about to eat two apricots now. In a little while I'm going to make the bean burgers ready for dinner and get out in the garden. The more I move the less my sciatica hurts but if I move and do too much it becomes unbearable and I'm stuck in bed or on the sofa.

Enjoy your holiday @HardRockOwl what are you planning to do around drinking? Maybe vodka lime and sodas to counter the carb and sugar effects? Although the cordial will most likely have sugar.

HardRockOwl · 08/06/2022 14:56

@SnowWhitesSM sciatica is just awful so I feel your pain. I chucked a lot of money to get rid of it a few years ago

No problems with drinking as I'm teetotal (not an alcoholic though 😅)

SnowWhitesSM · 08/06/2022 17:49

Thank you @HardRockOwl it really is horrible. I've been referred for surgery but I'm hoping with the exercises I've been doing it will resolve itself.

Oh you'll be fine dancing around the circle if you're not drinking. Hope you have a lovely time!

strawberrybarn · 08/06/2022 21:54

Evening all! Just checking in with today's meals:-

B griddled peaches and toasted pecans with vanilla ricotta yoghurt
S apple & peanut butter
L Asda Extra Special chicken parmigiana. I think this was serves 2 and I ate it all
S 2 x babybel & plum
T roasted sweet potato salad with vine cherry tomatoes, pine nuts and green power dressing AGAIN. I had at least 2 x big portions of this - it was too yummy

I've eaten too much today. I had 2 x portions (at least) both at lunch and tea - I will work on this over next few days. Dancing dangerously near the edge of the circle.

I'm sorry to hear about the sciatica @SnowWhitesSM ! I hope you feel OK after the bike ride.

I don't really drink either @HardRockOwl. I'm not strictly teetotal as I maybe have one or two a year, but that's all! And with regards to the weight gain possibility, I know how you feel - I put on 3kg+ in 3 days recently (weekend away), aaarrrggghhh! Good luck and enjoy your hols! Did you have to buy new holiday clothes?

I know the 'tummyish' feeling @ElvenDreamer! I like to eat once my youngest has gone to bed around 7.30pm as then I can really relax and enjoy my meal then, but my stomach prefers more digestion time overnight!

Welcome back inside the circle @Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas! What are your food plans?

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 09/06/2022 08:43

Thanks @strawberrybarn.
Yesterday I had;
B - bircher museli with berries and nuts
S - babybel and mini cucumber
L - Goat cheese and tomato fritta with salad
D - tray bake pizza chicken

Today, I will probably have the same so I can use up the left overs but different snacks.

strawberrybarn · 09/06/2022 15:10

Popping by to ask how much peanut butter is normal to eat with an apple? Very embarrassingly, I seem to have started and finished a 1kg tub of Whole Earth Crunchy in approx. 10 days (no-one else eats it). Apart from the fact @ £5.50, I can't afford to replace it every 10 days, I'm sure that's far too much PB! I love peanut butter and have been adding a generous teaspoon (+) to each slice of apple but can now see that this has led me to eat approx. 100g per day as part of a snack portion!

No wonder I'm fat. I don't think I'll buy any more for just now!

Have a wonderful time @HardRockOwl ! Very jealous! Please let us know how you get on eating wise when away when you get home - I'm off on holiday too soon and don't want to completely undo my work so far so need tips!

SnowWhitesSM · 09/06/2022 16:30

I'm pretty sure two teaspoons are a portion @strawberrybarn 😆

B peanut butter and oatcakes for breakfast

S two apricots and two brazil nuts

L Lidl ready meal of cod and green veg (it's one of those light meals)

S yoghurt and defrosted berries

Am on track with my meal planning and doing sausages and bean mash for dinner with Brocoli and asparagus.

Also went for another bike ride and did 12k! I hope I haven't overdone it but it was so nice being out cycling on the cycle track near me!

HardRockOwl · 09/06/2022 16:34

@strawberrybarn 😀😀 I could eat peanut butter by the bucket load! And it's a tablespoon per serving I'd say.

I'm in my hols! Lovely here in Portugal but I suffered with travel sickness so it wasn't fun throwing up into my handbag in the taxi from the airport much to my husbands horror

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 09/06/2022 16:43

@strawberrybarn and I'm hoping to stay relatively on plan but we will see. I won't stay on plan if it means not being able to enjoy myself. But I want to just make sensible choices and eat in the style of 3 meals and 2 snacks

Anyway, today I had porridge and mango in Pret followed by a snack of almonds and babybels on the plane

And then I puked it all up so I'm taking this as zero food today so far

OP posts:
strawberrybarn · 09/06/2022 18:23

Oh no @HardRockOwl! Bad luck to have had porridge then vomit! Hopefully your holiday will start properly now.

Great menu @Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas.

Well done in the 12k cycle @SnowWhitesSM! I need to try the bean mash as I think I'd like it.

Food for today:-

B griddled peaches and toasted pecans with vanilla ricotta yoghurt
S apple & peanut butter (last time for a while until I can get a handle on my peanut butter addiction!)
L 300g cottage cheese & 5 or 6 M&S seedy crackers (the ones made from psyllium husks)
S None
T 1/2 Dr Oetker pizza & big homemade salad drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic drizzle + an orange as I missed afternoon snack.

The pizza isn't ideal as it's so processed but I need a night off cooking (& forgot to take anything out of freezer!), however it is only 369cals and 7g carbs for 1/2 pizza so I am hoping I'll get away with it!

strawberrybarn · 09/06/2022 18:24

The pizza

SnowWhitesSM · 09/06/2022 20:36

@HardRockOwl I hope you're feeling better and now enjoying your time away.

Well done for not eating the whole pizza @strawberrybarn as I most definitely would have.

HardRockOwl · 09/06/2022 21:46

I am feeling better thanks. Just needed a couple of hours for it to wear off

Food times ...

Pret porridge
Fresh mango + dried mango

Dark chocolate dusted almonds
3 x light babybels

--- 2 episodes of sickness, so I lost most of the above 😀

Dinner was pesto pasta in a restaurant. My first pasta for 11 weeks ish. I only managed half of it before I felt full so I just stopped eating and didn't force any more down.

1 scoop sorbet in a cup.

So.. all in all, it was a day of eating I'm relatively happy with. It was a bit snacky as I was up at 6am to leave for the airport therefore didn't have my usual breakfast and the pret porridge isn't very nice

Tomorrow will be better I think as it's breakfast in the hotel so I'll have yogurt and fruit. We are eating in a restaurant for lunch tomorrow so I'll have the tricalore salad I've already spotted and then I'll see for dinner

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 10/06/2022 09:33

Breakfast I'd say was on plan. They've got everything of course but I swerved past the pastries and went for ...

Muesli with goji berries, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, oat milk and natural yogurt with a little pineapple and melon

And god - I'm even in a bikini for the first time since I was about 9

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 10/06/2022 09:33

And yes - I've taken the pic not to show all the really chubby bits Grin

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 10/06/2022 14:52

Lunch relatively on plan .. had a mozzarella and tomato salad. Followed this up with a solero but I figured that this is fine as didn't have a snack this morning

OP posts:
ElvenDreamer · 10/06/2022 15:12

That breakfast sounds really tasty HardRockOwl. Mine was rubbish today, in a bit of a rush so just ate a banana! I had fortunately prepped my lunch though so that was a watercress, feta, chicory and orange salad which was nice. I have some bridgen beef stew with cauliflower mash already cooked for dinner later courtesy of forward planning and the freezer. Not much exercise today as Friday I'm just one set of work after another but I've been fairly on it the rest of the week.

SnowWhitesSM · 10/06/2022 20:37

Witwoo OP!

I made over night oats with coconut and frozen berries. Was really nice, I thought I didn't like them. My ds liked them too.

I've not had a great today. Had one of those monstrous giant freak shakes and ever since all I've been craving is birthday cake 😂

B overnight oats

S hummus and oatcakes

L freak shake

T cajun salmon with asparagus, spring greens and pak choi

S graze box of amaretto biscuits, cocoa covered almonds and plain almonds. Not birthday cake but a compromise.

HardRockOwl · 10/06/2022 21:12

@SnowWhitesSM what was in your freak shake? I sort of can picture them I think.

Food times for today ...

Muesli with peanut butter, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, goji berries and natural yogurt with fruit

Mozzarella and tomato salad
Solero

Pizza
1 scoop rum and raisin

So err yeah. Well and truly out the circle here! But I'm being as measured as I can be, I'm not overeating at all I don't think, and I'm being sensible with potions (so I'm not having 3 scoops of ice cream which I could quite easily have gone for!)

OP posts:
SnowWhitesSM · 10/06/2022 21:24

Something like the picture OP.

I think you're being remarkably restrained OP! Glad you're enjoying your holiday 😊

strawberrybarn · 10/06/2022 21:28

@HardRockOwl, you look amazing! I hope you're having a wonderful time and the Solero was tasty!

@SnowWhitesSM, what is a freakshake?? God, I LOVE cake!

@ElvenDreamer, the watercress & orange salad sounds lovely! You are my salad pusher!

B Greek yoghurt, blueberries & pistachios
S 2 x babybels & plum
L small portion of meatballs & melted mozzarella & cheddar
S None
T roasted sweet potato salad with vine cherry tomatoes, pine nuts and green power dressing, yes AGAIN!

HardRockOwl · 11/06/2022 09:42

Bloody hell, the freak shake! What a time to be alive! (But not for long obviously. Not once you've eaten/drunk that Grin)

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 11/06/2022 16:00

Been ok again with food I think

Muesli with yogurt, fruit and seeds

Mozzarella and tomato salad then a fruit plate

Small solero thing that I've not seen on the UK. Only 50 cals

Not sure about dinner yet!
