Precious thread is here ... Louise Parker method anyone? I know it's a bit old fashioned now .. http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/4517125-louise-parker-method-anyone-i-know-it-s-a-bit-old-fashioned-now

Just a place to chat about the method, the ups and downs and how it works etc.

I personally have just completed the first 6 week Transform phase and have lost 18 lbs. Not quite 'transformed' yet but on my way Grin

Bloody hell - I’ve lost 4lb! Best first week loss I’ve had for years!

HardRockOwl · 28/05/2022 14:35

Afternoon! (Echo chamber Grin)

Ah, it's always the way with weight loss threads. We all get a bit bored in the end. However I'm here until the bitter end Grin

Doing ok in that I'm still in the circle! Hoping for a small loss on Monday weigh in. I think I've got confused with how many weeks I've been doing this for ... I believe im due to start week 9 on Monday!

I'm 6 lbs away from a 2 stone loss so that's my focus for now. Oh and I'm 2 lbs away from being 'overweight' so I'll be glad to get away from being obese!

HardRockOwl · 28/05/2022 14:37

@Plainandsimple ooh didn't see you there! Well done! It really works doesn't it? I'm not very far away from a 2 stone loss and honestly, it's not been particularly difficult. 4 lbs is such a good loss, must have really motivated you

Plainandsimple · 28/05/2022 17:11

Afternoon @HardRockOwl ! It does really work! And I’m cautiously optimistic I can keep it up long term - I don’t feel like I’m on a ‘diet’ which I think is part of its success (I am a serial dieter!) Still haven’t got the daily steps sorted though!

TheWreathLady · 28/05/2022 21:26

@Plainandsimple & @HardRockOwl
Well done both of you, such an achievement! It has gone very quiet hasn’t it? I wasn’t so strict with the plan last week, a bit of wine over a few days and piece of cake yesterday and more bread than usual but my weight stayed the same so that’s good. I’ll ease off a bit this week with half term/jubilee etc but it’s easy to snap back into it after a while isn’t it? My HRT doses/products have changed this month so I’ll be pretty miffed if it affects my weight 😂 as it does such a great job otherwise.

HardRockOwl · 28/05/2022 21:47

@TheWreathLady it has gone quiet but this is par for the course with diets. We all know only too well how people hop on and off the wagon and just how hard it is to stay on it

keiratwiceknightly · 29/05/2022 09:01

Just popping in to say I'm still mostly in the circle though weight loss has plateaued at just 11st 12 - 1lb above healthy bmi. Keeping going though - going to have an 80% week for half term then hit it hard for the last 7 weeks before the summer break.

keiratwiceknightly · 29/05/2022 09:01

Hard Rock Owl - you are doing brilliantly- nearly 2 stone! Well done you.

Plainandsimple · 29/05/2022 16:15

I seem to have killed the thread off so I daren't post often! 😄Still here, day one of week two. Breakfast was blueberry pancakes with strawberry sauce (no raspberries so had to improvise), lunch - tuna & mixed bean salad, dinner will be chicken wrapped in parma ham & veg. Been in and out of the garden all day so haven't had time for snacks, but am counting the gardening as my exercise for today!

HardRockOwl · 29/05/2022 16:50

@Plainandsimple lol . I'm perfectly capable of killing off a thread, don't you worry! However I think it's important for future folk considering the plan to have something I formatted to read through. Or not informative. Who knows Grin

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 29/05/2022 16:51

@keiratwiceknightly ooh that's a great weight though. I'm approaching it but not 'quite' there yet. Kinda on the horizon! I'm short and don't have any bloody height advantage either!

OP posts:
Plainandsimple · 29/05/2022 17:57

Height is no advantage when dealing with a lardy belly that stops you seeing your feet! And being tall and fat can be worse - put me in a floaty summer frock and I look like a galleon in full sail!

HardRockOwl · 29/05/2022 18:52

@Plainandsimple ah I can relate. No maxi dresses for me thanks!! Deffo look like a ship in full sail

Food times for today

Smoothie bowl with Greek yogurt, pumpkin seeds and strawberries

Mexican hot chocolate

Low carb wrap with goats cheese and salad with cherries/ tangerine on the side

Babybel

Couldn't be bothered with dinner as didn't fancy much. Went for porridge with a chopped up apple and a tablespoon of peanut butter

I'm still here keeping on! Stepped out of the circle on Friday and Saturday night but back in today. Tomorrow is my last day of the six week programme as no I've lost 9lb in total so I'm pleased with that!

Next 6 week period starts tomorrow so another 9lb off would be amazing!

Food today:
B: Greek yoghurt + seeds + nuts + strawberries

S: Babybel and a few nuts

L: salad with bacon and cheese

S: Ryvita with PNB and 1/2 a banana

D: bolognese on roasted aubergine

HardRockOwl · 29/05/2022 20:19

Ooh well done @NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoByAgain - you've gotta be chuffed with that

I've actually lost count what weigh in it is for me tomorrow but I'm pretty sure, having counted back, that it's week 9

Morning gang! I’m still lurking and stalking you all. No loss for me this week but no surprise as I fell into a bit of a celebratory vat of wine this weekend (got a bit overexcited about a week off work). I always fancy something a bit carby the next day. I know we’re allowed the odd piece of GOOD toast but it always impedes weight loss for me - I think I might have a bit of a wheat intolerance.

Also I had some chips on the beach. Forgot about those.

Still going though! This week is the last week of my first 6 weeks. I think I’m going to struggle for the planned stone off, but I’ll think big (or small?) and go for it! I’ve got some smoked tofu in the fridge so I might go for the cashew and tofu thing tonight, and I’ve got plenty of Bircher and salad ingredients.

Glad to see you’re all still going @HardRockOwl and @NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoByAgain and @Plainandsimple is off to a flying start.

Oh yes and I ran (well hobbled/shuffled) 5K yesterday! I’m sure that will be easier when I’m lighter!

Plainandsimple · 30/05/2022 08:19

Morning all! Thankyou @Hobbes8, I am well chuffed! Danger zone now though - this is where a bit of complacency kicks in and my twisted brain turns 4lb into several stone and I start to ‘reward’ myself for doing so well! And of course the rewards are always edible! Why do we sabotage ourselves?! Anyhoo, enough doom and gloom - it’s nearly sunny here, I’ve got a week off work and am about to haul my ample backside out of bed for a delicious breakfast of fresh strawberries, Greek yoghurt and flaked almonds - yum! Have a good day all!

MrsBartlet · 30/05/2022 08:27

Excellent losses everyone! I am also still lurking and stalking Grin Wk 5 weigh in today and I have lost 7lbs since I started. I know it is not as much as others but I was already at a healthy BMI when I started (10st/ 5ft 3) but right at the top end. My aim has been to get more in the middle of the healthy BMI range. I stepped out the circle at the weekend when I went to visit ds and his girlfriend and had to eat pasta and bakewell tart (such a chore!) but it was a really good lesson as I was very full after and just had raw vegetables and dip in the evening when we were back and still saw weight loss this week.

I am off on holiday for 2 weeks just after I finish week 6 so I aim to do the lifestyle phase for those 2 weeks then do another proper 6 weeks when I am back. I am really happy with half a stone loss so far and loving the food and never hungry which is amazing! I feel so good 😀

GoodNutButters · 30/05/2022 08:48

Hi all, four weeks in now and I've lost another 2lb so that's 9lb in total. Been away from Mumsnet for the last week or so due to various family dramas which have also resulted in some serious time outside the circle but I'm back in the game this week!

GoodNutButters · 30/05/2022 08:52

Just seen the updates from everyone else who's still cracking on, nice work everybody!

Sparker201 · 30/05/2022 08:56

Well done everyone with your losses - still here lurking and sabotaging myself 😂 Restarting again today, good luck this week to everyone!

HardRockOwl · 30/05/2022 09:39

Well it's my 100th week weigh in today. At least it feels like that sometimes Grin

I think I've done 9 weeks actually. Started at the every end of March so think that's about right.

Anyway, I've lost another couple of pounds this week so total loss stands at 1 stone 9 lbs

I'm really hopeful I just this is it for me. I have been here before in the past but I would really like this to be the last bloody diet I do. And sometimes it doesn't feel too much like a diet really. I may treat myself this week and buy some dark chocolate covered mango to have as a few snacks .

Anyway I'm still taking Louise's advice and not getting off the train a stop or two too early so I'm going to aim to lose another 24 lbs. This will take me to relatively slim so that's the aim

OP posts:
HardRockOwl · 30/05/2022 09:43

@Sparker201 good luck with the restart. You can do it

@GoodNutButters sorry to hear you've had some issues. Well done for getting back in the circle

@MrsBartlet that's an amazing loss

@Plainandsimple I'm the queen of self sabotage! I also have previous form for being complacent so I'm really trying hard not to fall into that trap right now. I find reading the books again helps, as does buying the odd 'on plan' recipe book. I'm considering buying the new 'Plant You' one

OP posts:
Hobbes8 · 30/05/2022 12:08

@Plainandsimple I totally do that too! I reward myself with food and clothes that don’t fit. What a dope.

Not this time though. Back on it today. Banana pancakes for breakfast, lunch of picky stuff - chicken, olives, oat cakes and hummus, bit of goats cheese. Planned dinner of fish cake and salad.

Off swimming in a mo but with the kids so probably won’t count as much exercise.

Sparker201 · 30/05/2022 14:29

Thanks @HardRockOwl - 1st 9lb is an amazing loss, very inspiring! I have 42 days to my holiday so let's see what I can do 😄
