I think I got to 8st 12 but I only lose a lb a month so 3lb is a big set back.

DD starts school tomorrow (😭) so it's going to need to be more regimented and routine led in the house, so going to try and start something like workout Wednesdays. I can now see why some people have the same meal each day of the week!

Sooverthemill · 06/09/2022 17:46

I'm so fed up as I'm utterly stuck now and nothing seems to,work. So I'm back to only eating homemade from scratch food and trying to move more. Bloody difficult!

neverenoughchelseaboots · 09/09/2022 08:16

9st 0.7lbs this morning. I did a workout this week, laid off the wine and generally tried not to eat so many biscuits. I'll keep doing that and hopefully my very slow progress will resume.

Hope you're all okay. @Knittingnanny2 @purplegirl13 you're especially quiet. Hope it's because you're busy having lovely times doing something fun. x

Knittingnanny2 · 09/09/2022 08:27

Ah thanks! Well I was having lots of fun but last 2 weeks have been ghastly and I’m eating to cheer myself up! Got an old lady gynae issue developing and waiting for an appointment. Can hardly walk so eating far too many calories and not using them up! I definitely won’t be weighing for a while
Hope you are all well.
Ive packed away my “ real” summer clothes and wearing a few in between season stuff which all seems to fit about the same as last autumn so that’s good

purplegirl13 · 09/09/2022 09:10

@neverenoughchelseaboots thanks for the mention. I am doing miserably on the food front but saying that, I am making an effort (sometimes ) to be more mindful but then there are days like yesterday where I had a choc croissant and then 2 krispy kreme doughnuts (I can't turn down office treats) then came home and shoved a burger and fries in the office as I was too tired.

I am still about 10st9 but will weigh tomorrow to confirm

purplegirl13 · 09/09/2022 09:12

I'll catch up on posts and I'll be back in a day or so, I've missed you lovely Ladies.

and whilst I'm here does anyone have a tried a tested oven baked mushroom risotto recipe? That's the plan for dinner tonight

I use a delia recipe @purplegirl13 []www.deliaonline.com/recipes/international/european/italian-recipes/oven-baked-wild-mushroom-risotto?amp here]].coincidentally we are having they tonight but courgettes not mushrooms

neverenoughchelseaboots · 09/09/2022 11:47

That's handy for me in that case too @Sooverthemill, we have an abundance of courgettes from the allotment that I can't keep up with.

In fact we have an abundance of everything but most can be frozen.

againmaeve · 09/09/2022 13:04

A second vote for Delia's recipe here @purplegirl13

Sooverthemill · 12/09/2022 09:19

The risotto was delicious and DH scoffed the leftovers. We went out Saturday evening but I had grilled chicken which was really nice too. Yesterday was a using up the freezer night so a bit calorie heavy probably. Today we are having steak and sweet potatoes in their jackets and salad. Desperately trying to empty the freezer to defrost for the winter or even to replace it as it's 22 years old and not very eco. My weight is stagnant

againmaeve · 13/09/2022 10:37

Tuesday weigh-in this week! Am mixing it up. Doing okay - few blips but basically eating and drinking a lot less than I was over the summer.
1st September 9 stone 7.4lb
13th September 9 stone 5.4lb.
How is everyone else doing?

thislittlebird · 13/09/2022 11:42

I weighed myself and I'm 10st 2 today. I've seen 3lbs or so creep on over the last few weeks of not doing much and not watching what I eat. I'm struggling to motivate myself to do exercise and eat better again. Will try to keep to 1200 cals today.

ShakeItOff40 · 13/09/2022 11:58

Waves Hello

5ft 1 here - and determined now life has moved onto another chapter (kids both in new schools I don't have to travel 2 hours a day doing school runs!) to take control and look after myself.

Currently 9st 5lbs - Heaviest I've been, the weight just keeps creeping up.

I'm trying macros as I do a lot of exercise and clearly am eating the wrong stuff to fuel me. My old PT calculated them earlier in the year, but my brain wasn't in the right place, but now I feel better. I would like to lose a stone by Christmas, so that's what, 1lb a week? SURELY I can do that? If I'm not a knob.

againmaeve · 13/09/2022 14:51

Hello @ShakeItOff40 - I have found it really difficult to shift a pound a week. More like half a pound a week at best. But I am mid fifties and not that fond of exercise so no surprise really...

ShakeItOff40 · 13/09/2022 15:43

Hi @againmaeve I suppose half a stone by Christmas would get me back to where I was when 'going in the right direction'

I love exercise, but I also love wine, and crisps....and chips....and pizza....and all the things that do not go alongside losing weight! 😂

thislittlebird · 13/09/2022 20:33

@ShakeItOff40 hi! yeah I think it depends what you’re doing. I can do a lb per week-ish if I’m strict with diet and exercise (most day).

Today I’ve had an omelette, two orange choco leibniz and a protein shake. That’s the least I’ve eaten in a while. Did my first 30 day shred workout since July or late June today and also signed up for a Pilates class on Friday morning (second time I’m going). Will try to fit another work out in between now and Pilates.

I’ve wasted my (unfortunately regular) ivf downtime. So I’ve only got a few days to do what I can before we try again, will try to keep up exercise most days before Sunday.

ArtOfTheImpossible · 13/09/2022 20:40

Hi I posted on here a few months ago, 5ft 3. Was then 10 stone 4. Now about 11 stone and kicking myself. At the end of every day I think tomorrow I'll start, then I get hungry. By the end of the day I've just eaten whatever.

I'm 40 and would love to lose a stone by Xmas. Then another stone at least.

bez91 · 15/09/2022 04:20

Hi ladies, hope I can rejoin. I was on here last year when having a tough time TTC and was trying to shift my attention to weight loss. Grateful for our little rainbow baby who is now 4month old so trying to get back to it as I think maternity leave is my best opportunity to get the weight shifted.

I am 5ft so never been much wriggle room as a lot of you ladies will be familiar with! Currently 61kg (9st 8lbs) and ideally want to get to 55kg so loose a stone and just be generally fitter and regain some strength as well as fit back in my clothes!

@ShakeItOff40 our measurements seem pretty similar, I was also hoping to achieve by Christmas too!

Currently doing the post pregnancy Sweat programme for exercising as well as trying to hit goals on my watch each day and attending postnatal fitness class weekly and using MFP to calorie track. Any low calorie breakfast suggestions welcome. I find I'll barely eating anything for breakfast as the calories seem to screw up the day

ShakeItOff40 · 15/09/2022 09:56

Morning everyone!

Feeling a bit blue and despondent today, it's only day 4, but I kind of wish I could see some difference. Macros are HARD to keep on top of, so I'm wondering about calorie counting, what do you guys aim for?

@ArtOfTheImpossible @bez91 We've got this! (she says wishing she could have pizza for breakfast)

@bez91 For breakfast low calorie I always aim for yogurt and fruit. My two favourite are frozen berries microwaved, or banana and peach fried in cinnamon and frylight. I would like some warm options thought, something that feels like a big buttery crumpet!

againmaeve · 16/09/2022 08:05

@ShakeItOff40 I aim for around 1200 calories and if I do any walking/exercise I don't 'eat' those calories. I watch my carb and alcohol intake. It works but progress is SLOW. News today said eating biggest meal at breakfast helps weight loss but I don't do that - I do always eat breakfast though. My tendency is to do well all week and then blow progress at the weekend!

bez91 · 16/09/2022 09:18

@ShakeItOff40 yoghurt and fruit is a good suggestion thankyou! I know what you mean about wanting to see a difference. I've had a pretty good week so far but expecting to see abs or something 🙈 my calorie goal is 1230 which is worked out by MFP based on goal etc I think

@againmaeve I couldn't have breakfast as the biggest meal I feel like I need a bit of wriggle room for later in the day so if there is any left over cals I can have a little treat in the evening 😊

I did have a naughty aero at 3:30am this morning. DS woke every half hour as he's got a really heavy cold which just kept ip both awake all night so I needed it to get me through!

bluetongue · 02/10/2022 11:17

Fellow chubby shorty here.

My issue is I’m great when I have a goal and need to lose weight. If I’m not being strict with my eating I tend to revert to old, bad habits and eating to feel good.

A couple of weeks ago I weighed in at 65.8kg. I was 63kg not that long ago. Eek. Have also had some recent not so great blood test results and my blood pressure could be better. I have a big holiday coming up mid January next year and am determined to be a healthy BMI (which means 59kg for me) by then.

After giving myself a bit of a talking to I’ve managed to lose 2kg in 2 weeks. Am sticking to 1200 calories a day. If you tell anyone that people think you’re starving yourself but I don’t think most people realise just how little a short person like myself needs to eat. It’s hard in a world designed for 5’10 men. I still go out for meals sometimes and you get looks when you order a starter instead of main and feel bad if you don’t eat the whole meal. My cousin was shocked that I didn’t want to order three courses. I almost never eat three courses even when I’m not dieting!

Sooverthemill · 26/10/2022 08:48

Have we all given up? I've had covid and am still really unwell 5 weeks later. Weighed myself on Sunday and was shocked yet again. When I'm ill I a,ways want stodgy. I still can't tatse or smell stuff right either. Trying from Monday to get back to cooking from scratch but it's wearing me out. But I know that's my best option plus not allowing myself to snack. In real life I never snack but when I'm unwell I'm craving a digestive or similar. Going to try to do a weekly weigh in, help motivate me!

Knittingnanny2 · 26/10/2022 19:34

Not given up! I’ve still got this debilitating, housebound condition ( bloody prolapse) which is supposed to be responding to physio ie squeezing! So I’m not active but eating loads so I’m not weighing at the moment
I’m having phases of being mindful
When I get my Seasalt size 12 winter dresses out in the next few weeks….. that might spur me on
Hope everyone is ok
