WOW 😯 Where did February go … A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Good luck @HouseofHolbein

Foreverlexicon · 17/03/2022 08:27

Good luck with your interview @HouseofHolbein

Well I am 0.2lb from my Thailand goal but I’m going to say that’s good enough as finally the day is here and in a few hours we will be on a plane. Whoooo. So probably won’t post fit a couple of weeks. Definitely not dieting whilst away and will have plenty of cocktails. I’ll deal with the damage when I get back as a mature 30 year old Hmm

129orbust · 17/03/2022 08:28

STICKING MY HEAD ROUND THE DOOR BEFORE I WALK!
130lbs on the button - catch up properly later.

Good Morning All

Hello lovely @Graphista I’m pleased to hear the scales have pleased you! Sub-consciously you’re eating to needs rather than to you wants = lose ☺️ That’s a great skill to hone! Anyways lovely to see you and I hope your move goes smoothly!

@HouseofHolbein you’re really in the zone with weight, life etc 👏👍🥇Well done on securing a job interview and fingers crossed they see your worth and offer you the right wage 😬

@pennysays What a positive post! Well done! 👍👏

@BaconAndAvocado 👍. It’s all about changing habits and cues. If tea means biscuit have something else. Good choice!

Yesterday I was looking at my numbers on my apps and my daily average walking steps have increased to over 4000. Last year the average was around 3000. Not a lot in most peoples world but it mine it’s significant ☺️. Was it @Crazzzycat or @buzzofthebumblebee who suggested a pledge to do more exercise around the number 2022. I settled on exercising at least 22 mins a day, which in the main I’ve done apart from when ill. Thank you 🙏

Menu
Meal 1 - Hallucinating, cabbage, carrot, red pepper stir fry.
Meal 2 - Chicken Burrito Bowl.
Tea, black coffee, water.

Enjoy your day! Whatever you do, do with gusto!

@TheRealHousewife love your first meal of the day, nothing like a bit of hallucinating to make you feel better about dieting Grin

8stone13 · 17/03/2022 09:13

Day 75 - Thurs 17th March - 9s 3 & 1/2lb
BMI 21.4
BF 23.9

Literally zero change from yesterday! I ate more at mealtimes though which stopped me from snacking 👍🏻

8stone13 · 17/03/2022 09:15

Happy 30th birthday & have a lovely holiday @Foreverlexicon SmileCakeThanks

8stone13 · 17/03/2022 09:21

Good luck with the job @HouseofHolbein 🤞🏻

And hello @Graphista & welcome @BaconAndAvocado 👋🏻

I love cabbage too! Don't get enough of it actually 🤔

Crazzzycat · 17/03/2022 09:37

Morning all!

It’s me who’s doing the 2022 km in 2022 challenge @TheRealHousewife. I’m not very consistent with posting about it, but at least I’m consistent with the exercise. That’s the main thing that matters 😄

Great job on increasing your steps. That’s a 30% increase, so I’d definitely call that significant!

I hopped on the scales this morning and found myself a lbs lower than yesterday. I’m now 2 lbs away from the mid year target I set myself. Once I hit it, I’m going to increase my calories. I feel permanently hungry on the calorie limit the NutraCheck app suggested for me. That’s fine for a few weeks, but doesn’t feel sustainable in the long term.

Good luck with your interview @HouseofHolbein!

Nice to see you back @Graphista. Fingers crossed your house move goes well.

And enjoy your holiday (and birthday) @Foreverlexicon 🥳

maccheeseandpeas · 17/03/2022 09:44

Im in. Currently at my heaviest weight ever, side from when i was pregnant. I have lost my way, I was doing really well but put all the weight back on.
Day 1 today (for the 999999th time). Summer is going to be here very soon and I AM going to be in my lovely summer clothes. I have a stone and a half to lose. I am trying to 1-2lbs each week by healthily eating, significantly reducing crap & alcohol and some gym work.

I'm 12.5lbs. Lost 3lbs from my last weigh in. Target weight is 11 stone. March goal is to get into the 11 stone bracket.

HouseofHolbein · 17/03/2022 10:25

Well apparently my interview is going to take slightly longer than anticipated so instead of a nice frock and jacket I am wearing my work trousers and a polo jumper (that I wear under my work tee shirt) with a scarf and jacket.

Tough if they don’t like it 🤷‍♀️

BaconAndAvocado · 17/03/2022 11:02

HouseofHolbein good luck for your job interview!

Just got back from a 2 hour walk with the hound. Meeting a friend for a coffee but she's also trying to lose weight so hopefully no cake temptation.

Weighing in tomorrow but considering I was 9st 11lb on the scales last night, I know it's not going to be good!
Usually I will only weigh myself first thing in the morning after a wee and completely naked.....night time weigh-ins never end well.

SanFranBear · 17/03/2022 12:05

Well done, Forever - I hope you have a wonderful holiday and many happy returns!!

Very best of luck, Holbein - if you hadn't put yourself forward, you'd always be wondering 'what if' and I always think it's good to have options. I hope it goes well - you sound perfectly dressed to me!

I managed an 11k hike yesterday but we had rain almost the whole day so it was a very muddy, wet slog! Was so good to get home and into a nice, hot bath (although lying in the bath reminds me of just how far I've got to go... but don't dwell as at least I'm on the way now!)

Welcome maccheeseandpeas - in my current state, your username is conjuring up all sorts of yumminess Grin

Right, I hope everyone else has a lovely Thursday and should at least make some semblance of working today!!

SanFranBear · 17/03/2022 12:08

I should at least make some semblance of working today... I'm sure you're all working hard, whatever you have on your plates today!

Gonnagetgoing · 17/03/2022 12:54

Need to weigh myself.

Had an Itsu noodle meal with the gyoza and only ate half as it was yucky...

Had blueberries in Oatsosimple with honey (small bit) this morning - previous 3 days has been Waitrose berry granola (35g) with Onken set plain yogurt and blueberries and small bit honey.

Had cheese and pickle sandwich with 4 cherry tomatoes, same as yday with Bachelors normal cup a soup - lunch.

I did notice the other day when I visited my DM that Rich Tea Light Biscuits are about 35 cals and even her beloved Digestives are something like 73 cals - the Rich Tea has less sugar and the Digestives have more fat and sugar. But that makes my saintly (so I thought) date with peanut butter has more at about 95 calories so better ditch those but I think it makes me feel fuller?

Off for run today.

Seeing boyfriend on Friday and he wants a takeaway - any ideas for ones that aren't too evil?

Gonnagetgoing · 17/03/2022 12:56

Day 75 - Thurs 17th March - 9s 3 & 1/2lb BMI 21.4 BF 23.9

Literally zero change from yesterday! I ate more at mealtimes though which stopped me from snacking 👍🏻

@8stone13 - you're right - if you do eat more at mealtimes I find it helps me stop snacking.

If I have scrambled eggs on toast at weekend and then go for a walk or whatever else I need to do I find I definitely don't need to snack, if I need someone for e.g. a coffee then I might have something with it but I don't need to.

Gonnagetgoing · 17/03/2022 12:57

Quick question - I noticed the other day when I had a Pukka Pie for dinner I literally couldn't eat all of it, and also the Itsu noodles with gyoza yesterday - no way could I eat all of the noodles.

So does that mean my stomach is shrinking and I should cut portion size accordingly?

Crazzzycat · 17/03/2022 13:51

@Gonnagetgoing, calories are only one part of a healthy diet. I’d personally much rather have a date with peanut butter, which provides minerals, vitamins, fibre and protein, than a biscuit, which is just calories and may be some fibre.

I don’t think stomachs actually shrink when you lose weight. You just become more aware of when you feel full. It may be worth looking at your portion sizes if that happens a lot.

TheRealHousewife · 17/03/2022 14:12

Happy Birthday @Foreverlexicon Hope you have a great time celebrating :) Safe flight! Sorry it should have read halloumi lol. Mind you I could do with a bit of tripping ....

@Crazzzycat well done on getting closer to goal!

Welcome to thread @maccheeseandpeas . I totally get that you'd like to lose before the summer months are upon us. If you stick to your plan you'll achieve it! Every time you want to stray from the plan visualise yourself in your favourite summer outfit looking all svelte and feeling confident. You've got this!

@HouseofHolbein good luck!

Have a wonderful holiday/birthday @Foreverlexicon 🥳

I really want to know what your lunch was today @TheRealHousewife 😅

My calorie intake has been sub-800 for the last couple of days... Not intentionally, I'm just not hungry?! Trying to consciously eat more today...

L - Mediterranean bean soup (whole tin, normally just have half)
D - vegetable curry, rice. Will have some mango chutney, no naan for me though.

According to mfp this is only c.850 cals for the day, including teas so far. Will have an apple shortly. Went for a 40 minute walk with the young one earlier. I know this isn't great on consecutive days but I genuinely don't know what to have to healthily increase my cals?! I'm happy for a couple of v.low calorie days a week, but three on the trot doesn't sit well in terms of being good for me.

I'd best lose on the scales tomorrow after this though!

HouseofHolbein · 17/03/2022 14:36

Think it went ok 😊 I told her how much money I need for me to move so we both have the information we need. We’ll see 😊 helps that I used to work with the person who would be my manager in fact I do her old job 😂😂 she’s keeping me informed from the inside

SunshineCake1 · 17/03/2022 17:26

Well done @HouseofHolbein on your weight loss and your job interview. Hope they offer you tonnes of money!

Have a lovely time @Foreverlexicon. Doesn't matter what weight you come back as as long as you enjoy every food item and drink you put in your mouth! It has to be worth the gain. Happy Birthday too.

Well done @129orbust. Fantastic!

Great increase in steps @TheRealHousewife. I'm still on course for 2022km in 2022.

Still a win @8stone13 as you didn't snack.

Excellent work @Crazzzycat. Keep going.

Welcome @maccheeseandpeas. I was going to make Mexican chilli for dinner but discovered too late it takes two hours so DS2 and I had a new version to us of macaroni cheese and tomato with peas, corn and broccoli. Must have been good as he had seconds and dd came for a taste. I didn't have seconds. Shock.

I made another new recipe for lunch - spicy courgette soup. Was ok but probably wouldn't make again. Lots of new stuff as went through my recipes books to see what I could make with what we already had in.

@BaconAndAvocado always always always weigh naked after a wee in the morning!!

Good win there @Gonnagetgoing to stop eating the food that wasn't nice. No idea about a takeaway unless you make your own version? Always nicer and less unhealthy.

Ran super fast 5km this morning 32 minutes 12 seconds but apparently I wasn't running - DH and I was cheating - my professional athlete friend as I was holding on at times. Tbh I was holding on a lot but I still did it. Then walked the dog for 2 hours 4 minutes five seconds Grin. 6.59km!!

Great news @HouseofHolbein. Hope you get what you want.

murmuration · 17/03/2022 18:24

Welcome @maccheeseandpeas - totally get what you mean about repeated Day 1s! This thread seems to be the only thing that can get me to Day 2 :)

Congrats on a good interview @HouseofHolbein and hope you hear what you want from them!

The 5:45am starts are killing me here. Maybe it would have been better to travel as people wouldn’t then be expecting me to work until 5pm as well! Although I’m pretty sure I couldn’t have handled it, never mind all the extra legwork to prepare for travel nowadays. Just thinking the grass is greener, I think. Have to remember it isn’t!

Plus I’m eating breakfast and lunch on Zoom and keep eating too much.

But today was last day of that, so hopefully will get back on track tomorrow. Just had 1 Lindt ball and decided I had better read this thread instead of going back for more :)

TheRealHousewife · 18/03/2022 07:04

Good Morning All

Sat here in bed with a cuppa listening to the bird song 🎶 Delightful it is.

Meal 1 - Mediterranean omelette
Meal 2 - Home made chicken curry & Cauli rice.

Morning! 1.5lb down today 🥳 super duper happy with this! I've noticed the difference this week with my clothes, having to do belts up tighter etc. 3.5lb away from my March target with two weigh ins to go... Not sure whether it's doable but I can but try, eh.

Happy sunny Friday to all ☀️
