WOW 😯 Where did February go … A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

@Lzzyisgod not as far as I know but I could be wrong.

Had a mixed day today. Picked up a bikini I’d ordered online, so tried it on in the changing rooms while I was there. The lighting was horrendous and made me look very saggy and not toned at all. It fit nicely though, so I’m hoping it is just the lighting. However, on the school run I bumped into a mum friend I hadn’t spoken to for a while and she said she was very jealous of me for losing lots of weight because she also wants to, and asked if I’ve been going to the gym. I was quite surprised because I haven’t spoken to her in ages, so I was flattered she’d noticed.

Did a spin class this morning, yoghurt, granola, blueberries and seeds for lunch. Dinner will be a Vietnamese pork bowl with brown rice.

Wow - that place looks amazing, TheRealHousewife.. although I think the stairs would finish me off as well!

HouseofHolbein · 15/03/2022 18:46

Hello! I’m still keeping going up and down with my weight but today I weighed in at my lightest this year and about 1lb off my initial goal. Goes to show that doing 10k + steps and cutting down on crisps is helping along with being too busy to eat 😂😂

SunshineCake1 · 15/03/2022 18:50

Well done @HouseofHolbein!

murmuration · 15/03/2022 19:11

That place looks amazing @TheRealHousewife !

Barely managing to keep up here. Was surprised to see last time I read this thread was Friday!

Work has been overwhelming. I’m doing too much but I don’t know what to do. I’ve already been fussed at for being late on something - there is literally no way I can do it before a week from now. Last week was in pain 2 nights, today was already hurting by 4pm. And I have a meeting at 5:45am tomorrow! Time zone issues - I’m just so glad I declined to travel with everyone else as I’d be in even more dire straits.

Had an ‘I deserve it’ Lindt ball this afternoon, but otherwise have been sticking to plan. Need to keep it up. Feel a bit like food is something I can control, so I want to make sure I do right.

TheRealHousewife · 15/03/2022 20:01

@HouseofHolbein well done 👍 I’m the heaviest I’ve been all year (2 years actually) 😬

Sounds difficult @murmuration. Hopefully it’ll ease off soon! Well done on sticking to plan 👏

@SanFranBear our dog hated them. The stairs went up 3 flights and down 1. Kitchen on ground flour. A 2nd bedroom on lower ground. Our dog chose to go down to lower ground, turn around before then going up the sitting room. Like a 3 part turn 😅. I actually didn’t like them at all. I’m sure people must have died falling down them. The tower was built in the 1570s and the ladies in centuries past wore loads of skirts and petticoats…. Actually quite spooky at night. TBH I didn’t sleep well at all whilst there as the main bedroom was at the top plus the bed was very high … felt like I had vertigo.

wow - what an amazing destination for a mini-break @TheRealHousewife. Forget the weight - it will come off in time, and a change / break would have been much needed I'm sure.

Sorry you are having a tough time at work @murmuration - just the one Lindt ball was it? or one box? ; )

Even you mentioning bikini rather than swimsuit @SingaporeSlinky means that you can rock it !!!

Clients have covid .... I've got funny taste in my mouth. Dare I test? Could I have it for the 3rd time? after 3 jabs? I'll test tomorrow. Too busy watching trashy tv

HouseofHolbein · 15/03/2022 21:34

@TheRealHousewife @SunshineCake1 thank you! Pretty sure I’ll be heavier tomorrow 😂😂

In other news I won £203 in the draw at work yesterday 👍 and I have to phone for an interview for another job tomorrow 👍

I quite fancy having evenings and weekends off again 😂😂

ComebackQueen · 15/03/2022 21:44

Can I join? I had a baby 5 months ago and, have gained 2 stone post baby, I had HG so lost weight during most of my pregnancy. I haven’t stopped eating anything not nailed down because my child was born early, been in and out of hospital and, most recently I lost a cousin who was like a brother to me, so I’ve spiralled into depression. I am literally eating away my feelings and, something needs to give.

TheRealHousewife · 15/03/2022 22:03

Great win @HouseofHolbein 💰 Treat yourself!

Welcome to the thread @ComebackQueen and congratulations on your baby. Sorry to read you’ve had a tough time of it! Baby steps, you’ve a lot on looking after your little one. Do you have a plan/goal etc? Mental health and weight loss/gain are so entwined. Are you getting support to improve your mental health? Bereavement counselling?

Thanks @TheRealHousewife and @buzzofthebumblebee ! Just one ball ! :)

Hope you haven't caught it, buzz. I've managed to get some kind of conjunctivitis! Woke up with gunky eyes. Oh. I've just googled and that can be a covid symptom for 1-3% of the population. I've been taking nearly daily LFT, though, for work, so don't think I have it, especially without any other symptoms.

Pleased I stuck to plan - happy with my WOW:
SW 14 st 4
CW 12 st 11 !!!!
Broke into the 12 stone, so very happy. I hope it's real and stays...

Welcome @ComebackQueen - be kind to yourself, it sounds like its been a tough time.

SunshineCake1 · 16/03/2022 07:25

Welcome @ComebackQueen and congratulations on your baby. Sorry for your loss Flowers. Many of us eat our feelings but I don't think we always realise that is what we are doing. You can get there just be mindful of the fuel needed to care for a tiny human.

buzzofthebumblebee · 16/03/2022 07:40

One lindt ball is seriously impressive murm. Respect. And there was you confessing your ONE lindt ball as if you'd eaten a kg of the stuff. Wish I could do that. I am all-or-nothing through and through.

And your loss is amazing too murm - another trumpet fanfare for you. It's good when you're in the zone mentally.

SW 13 2
CW 11 2.75
which is amazing, so I've lost all the (5 lbs) blow-out bloat except last 0.75. Have had to dig deep and be very very mindful this week, but goes to show it has worked. I'm feeling better for it too. My body really does blow-out like the Michelin man after sugar & wine & carb overload.

@HouseofHolbein - you SO deserved that cash. Hope you are successful job hunting - despite the pay rise you know now the current one doesn't suit your lifestyle. And good news on your weight loss too.

Congratulations on your baby and big hugs to you @ComebackQueen - go easy and be kind to yourself. What an emotional rollercoaster you've been on. Rest and headspace and comforting treats (gentle walks, bubble bath and sit down with a cuppa) if you can, rather than reaching for the sweet stuff which will send you crashing down further.

Have a good day everyone.

129orbust · 16/03/2022 08:18

Wow this thread moves so fast - welcome @ComebackQueen and well done @murmuration @buzzofthebumblebee and @HouseofHolbein Great successes motivate us all.
130.4lbs this morning so another 0.4lbs off. I have been making sugar free jelly in a variety of flavours to stop me hitting the crisps - I had forgotten how lovely they are especially the lime.
Hope the day is a positive one for all.

TheRealHousewife · 16/03/2022 08:19

Good Morning All

WOW sees 1.5lbs off which I’m pleased about. Usually I weight daily but I’m going to wait until next Wednesday for my next weigh-in. Im hoping most of my humongous gain will have p*** Off by then 😬

Cross posted. Well done on the loss @129orbust 👏 I agree the sugar free jellies are such a treat for hardly any cals. Not had one for a while. I usually make individual ones in small glasses. Mosh them right up once set and add about a teaspoon of fresh cream. Tastes super indulgent and still comes in under 50 cals.

Thank you so much for the lovely and kind welcome.

I’m currently 70kg as I weighed myself in the bathroom this morning & would like to get to 50Kg by the end of the year.

I’ve been referred to my local mental health facility and, have a telephone appointment next week.

I hope this can help me deal with not just the loss but also, my feelings post birth, I’ve always known I’m most likely suffering from PND and, despite my husband’s assistance on seeking help, it’s after the bereavement I finally decided to take my mental health seriously and ask my GP for help.

I’m planning to do 10min HIIT exercise daily following this.

I’m only going to eat from 12noon to 8pm everyday, I believe this is what they call intermittent fasting and, I’m going to eat mostly repetitive food.

I’ve decided I will do variations most days of a few of the following:

full fat yogurt and frozen fruits.
Fish/chicken and unlimited vegetables.
Turmeric coconut lattes
Chickpeas, feta and avocado salads.
Jacket potatoes with cottage cheese and sweetcorn.
Brown bread bloomer home made cheese and salad sandwiches.
Salt popcorn only if I need a snack.
Lots of nuts.

Then, after a week or two once my body adjusts to reduced calories, I’ll be introducing one meal replacement shake and one main meal only.

Pipe dreams to be turned into reality.

I’m just going to catch up on the thread just so glean some ideas.

On page 17 alone I can see weight loss and winnings Flowers so happy to see this.

Let’s get shredding ladies Blush

We'll done @murmuration @buzzofthebumblebee & @TheRealHousewife 👏🏻

Welcome @ComebackQueen You're going through a really tough patch. Good luck with the mental health referral, & of course with the weight loss - I think sometimes having something to plan for & focus on is helpful, especially one that will yield discernibly positive results Thanks

Day 74 - Weds 16th March - 9s 3 & 1/2lb
BMI 21.4
BF 23.9

I did better yesterday on the avoiding chocolate front but I don't think I'm eating enough & it's leading me to snack which isn't great even if it's healthy things. I need to look at my diet (again!)

8stone13 · 16/03/2022 09:21

@ComebackQueen I meant to say I also had HG & remember that phase post-birth when I could actually go near food without vomiting, it's was incredible! In my case it took 2 years after each pregnancy to get to the stage where I was ready to stop doing that & to lose the weight, we're all different of course, but please don't put too much pressure on yourself, do it when you're ready, & remember to look after yourself as well as your baby 🙂

129orbust · 16/03/2022 09:29

This is mainly for you @ComebackQueen as having a baby you may be short on time but could fir this in whenever you have 15 minutes and work up to longer ones:
