WOW 😯 Where did February go … A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Afternoon all!

I've managed to gain 2 lb this week, over indulged massively over the weekend, so while I'm disappointed in myself I am not giving up. Which is what I would normally do.

It's a lovely day here so I've been for a walk already, and I'll walk to pick the kids up from school.

SunshineCake1 · 14/03/2022 14:08

Hi all

Can't really focus to post properly. Just keep going. We are all winning as we are still trying.

CumbrianExile · 14/03/2022 16:01

@sunshinecake1 I hope you DD got home ok yesterday, and that she is settling well! You have enough on your plate, so don't worry about posting on here. We know you are with us in spirit Flowers

fallfallfall · 14/03/2022 16:10

@SunshineCake1, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
i hope dd's transition back home goes smoothly.
i read you post on feeling frustrated with the scale and believe me i'd be able to commiserate with you on that one.

SanFranBear · 14/03/2022 16:37

What a lovely sentiment, Sunshine.. look after yourself Flowers

youdoyoutoday · 14/03/2022 17:19

Hope you and your DD are ok @SunshineCake1 x

SunshineCake1 · 14/03/2022 19:02

Thank you so much @CumbrianExile @fallfallfall @SanFranBear and @youdoyoutoday

Outwardly DD seems to be doing ok. DH took her to get the food she wants and she has been for a run. She's spending most of her time alone in her room but that is nothing new. Worried about tomorrow as have to leave her home alone though she will probably be asleep. I think she needs to see a GP for an infection but no point telling her.

Feeling guilty when I have a few moments where I forget and I enjoy time with my dog or talking to DH but then I remember and it hits me again. Hard.

SanFranBear · 14/03/2022 19:59

Hugs, Sunshine - but take the joy where you can find it, no need to feel guilty.

I am so hungry today - snacked more than normal and could still go now. Didn't help I tried a new recipe this evening and it wasn't all I'd hoped (a Pinch of Nom one, which I know people don't seem to like but I've quite enjoyed those I've cooked previously - and they are low calorie) Shame really as have three more portions of the damn thing to finish up as I hate wasting food so much!!

buzzofthebumblebee · 14/03/2022 22:28

for all your feelings @SunshineCake1, do not burden yourself with guilt as well. Not deserved, not needed. You are doing the best you can do. Flowers

buzzofthebumblebee · 15/03/2022 08:27

Morning all. Body feeling less puffy, so sugar/carb bloat going away. Hurray. Now need to stick with it! Hope to get out to exercise outdoors at some time today. Big wave to everyone.

8stone13 · 15/03/2022 08:54

Morning all 👋🏻

Day 73 - Tues 15th March - 9s 3lb
BMI 21.3
BF 23.6

I've had a great start to the day - a good morning with the kids (mornings can be very hard as the Autistic one really struggles until his meds kick in) but it was easy & fun & no stress. Short walk with the dog to post a birthday card, I listened to the sounds & inhaled the smells of spring. I'm determined not to succumb to chocolate & sugar today & I do feel I can do it. Feeling quite positive all round 🙂

Crazzzycat · 15/03/2022 09:20

Morning all! I had a presentation landed on me at the very last minute yesterday, which triggered a bit of a stress eating response. I realised just in time that the urge to eat wasn’t anything to do with being hungry, so that’s better than I usually do 😅 Hopefully I can keep it up today when I’m supposed to deliver this bloody presentation...

I find stress eating to be even more of an issue after a stressful event, so wish me luck 🤞

Have a good day everyone!

129orbust · 15/03/2022 10:00

Beautiful morning here - delighted to report I am 130.8 this morning on my scales. I'm sick of going up and down and nearly getting to my new target but not quite so I have the bit between my teeth again and am determined.
Every time I see your user name @8stone13 I am thinking of the next target and I cannot set it until I reach this one so I had better get on with it.
I cannot see @SunshineCake1 if DD has come home from Uni for a break or for good. Hope it is the former and please do not feel guilty of taking breaks and forgetting the pressure for a few minutes Flowers

Lzzyisgod · 15/03/2022 10:15

Morning all

Covid has hit me like a brick and I feel rubbish - however some advantages in that my appetite has diminished, can only eat small amounts due to awful indigestion and the fatigue means I can't be bothered to get up to snack. Every cloud hey Grin

8stone13 · 15/03/2022 11:53

@129orbust I still think I should change my username as I'm not sure 8 stone 13lb is a good aim now - my main aim is to defeat my problem with chocolate (doing well so far today 🤞🏻) Well done on your result & your resolve 👏🏻

Oh no @Lzzyisgod feel better soon Thanks

SunshineCake1 · 15/03/2022 13:33

Thank you everyone for your kindness. DH has gone to get DS2 from school with DD and then are going into town. She seems fine. I'm a nervous wreck. She's home for the foreseeable at the moment but wants to go back in September but dh and I can't see how.

I've run a really good 5km, 33mins 12 sec. Weight wise , not as bad as before so 12 1.4 which is fine with just the 1.5 stone to get off to get me back to where I was before I had glandular fever and the appointment will cost £3500 worse case. Sigh.

129orbust · 15/03/2022 14:20

Don't change your user name @8stone13 - it's giving me something to aim for! I have a real issue with resisting crisps so when I feel tempted Mon-Fri I just repeat my mantra: Do you want to be a little bit peckish or a little bit fat!
On the weekends I have them as I want to be a little bit indulged rather than a little bit deprived Grin
It might work for you.
Really sorry to hear that @SunshineCake1 but glad you are getting a bit of a break. @Lzzyisgod covid seems to be doing the rounds again - bad luck and hope you feel better soon.

TheRealHousewife · 15/03/2022 14:31

Good Afternoon All

The thread has really moved on. Too many posts to respond personally but would like to say bloody well done on everyone’s progress.

Thank you for all your good wishes. Had a great time away … too great! I had a sneak peak on scales this morning and oh boy!

I did not over indulge massively but had the odd treat like a gf Mac & cheese which to be fair was heavenly. Had a couple of glasses of wine and a few crisps. Also had breakfasts, which I normally don’t have. Consequence is that I’m the heaviest I’ve been for 2 YEARS 😮. I was floating up and down several lbs around my maintenance, BMI upper end of normal. Now I’m definitely not in maintenance by any stretch and BMI is in the over weight category. I am definitely back on it! Fast800 recipes, eat twice a day, IF, no sugar, alcohol or crisps. Trying to up exercise when able.

PS I’ve posted a pic of where we stayed. Not for the faint hearted. Took my life in my hands every time I tried to navigate the stone spiral staircase 😱

Menu

Meal 1 - Spicy Cauliflower Soup. GF bread.
Meal 2 - Mozzarella Chicken, cabbage, carrots, mange tout.
Tea, black coffee, water.

Where is that @TheRealHousewife ?

Glad you had a nice break, good luck with getting back on track 🤞🏻

youdoyoutoday · 15/03/2022 15:19

OMG @TheRealHousewife that place looks beautiful! Where is it??
Glad you had a lovely time.

@Lzzyisgod hope you feel better soon. Flowers

I've lost half a pound today so back under 14 again. Feel so bored today, my should is still hurting so I didn't swim today but I will bootcamp in the morning as I can't keep putting it off.

8stone13 · 15/03/2022 15:19

Ok @129orbust I'll keep it 😀

TheRealHousewife · 15/03/2022 16:04

It’s in the county of Derbyshire on the Chatsworth Estate. They have a lot of estate properties to let.

We actually booked in 2019 for 2020 then covid happened so kept getting rearranged. 2020 was our 20th Wedding Anniversary so celebrated 2 years late 😅
