WOW 😯 Where did February go … A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

That sounds like a nightmare @SanFranBear. I hope your kittens make a swift recovery.

@SunshineCake1 is it possible that the weight is not coming off as fast as you’d like because of stress? You’ve been through so much mentally and physically that I wouldn’t be surprised if that plays a role here. .

youdoyoutoday · 12/03/2022 10:21

Morning all!

Stepped on the scales and I've maintained today, well 1/4 off. Bit surprised as I had pizza and wine last night.

Happy Saturday 🌞

SanFranBear · 12/03/2022 11:58

Thank you again for your kind words - and kitties are fine in themselves.. just having rather awful 'movements'! Here they are - no bonnets here unfortunately although I think my ginger boy might tolerate it once he's better (no chance with my tortie girl!)

I'm really impressed with all you runners.. I tried C25k a few years back and killed my knees so have decided to stick to lower impact... plus other than the post run high, I hated every minute. It always seems like such good exercise though - works all of you, you get to see the great outdoors and it's totally free!

SunshineCake1 · 12/03/2022 13:28

Absolutely @Crazzzycat. It has been a stressful few months or more. I think failing at my fasting hasn't helped. I do 5.30pm- 12.45pm and hit fat burning but if I end up having a snack at 8pm it messes it all up. I had got on top of it but I had two days where I didn't have enough lunch and that was the two days I had a snack. I lost 1.5stone without much effort when I stopped eating all the food I was intolerant too then it took over 18 months to lose another two stone. I'm just so slow. Currently registering a nett loss of 2 stone when I had achieved a loss of 3.5 stone Sad. I'll read the link in a bit. Thank you.

Treadmill later as I walked the dog, 4+km this morning, hour and half, and I want to have some chocolate later.

DD coming home tomorrow. Yesterday was a tough day for me emotionally and hormonally and today I am also feeling anxious and emotional and can't talk to anyone about it. Might text a friend in a bit.

Your cats look like my two @SanFranBear!

Day 70 - Sat 12th March - 9s 2 & 3/4lb
BMI 21.3
BF 23.6

SanFranBear · 12/03/2022 17:28

Sunshine... your cats are beautiful - are they brother and sister too?

And you've done incredibly well and are still two stone down overall which is a significant achievement... that article linked is fascinating and definitely worth a read.

SunshineCake1 · 12/03/2022 17:36

They are half siblings according to the vet @SanFranBear. We rescued them.

Foreverlexicon · 13/03/2022 06:38

Just a quick check in.

Been very on it on the exercising but food has been a bit lax. Been going over by a couple of hundred calories a day and eating too many treats. Glad that I’ve not entirely fallen off but going to tighten it up a bit now as really want to be under 150 by Thursday so need to crack on!

4 work days left. Bit of major stress in I didn’t realise one of my days leave wasn’t approved and my department boss approved it but our duties department threw their toys out the pram. Thankfully managed to shift swap (not really a thing usually) as it’s the day I’m flying back so physically cannot be at work. Not helping my feelings of resentment towards my organisation and slight flicker of regret that I didn’t walk when I had a chance!

SunshineCake1 · 13/03/2022 06:55

Is it too late to walk @Foreverlexicon?

8stone13 · 13/03/2022 12:14

Hello all 👋🏻

I’ve just caught up on the thread - well, I got as far back as last Wednesday & then stopped as I imagine most people’s lives have moved on since then 😀

What a brilliantly upbeat post @pennysays
👏🏻

Same also @ImALittlePea 👏🏻

@Crazzzycat Where do you live? Cliff top living sounds amazing!

Sending hugs to you @SunshineCake1

Hope you are ok @buzzofthebumblebee I loved the capitals NO SNACKING 😀

@SanFranBear How are the kittens?

@Foreverlexicon Am I right that you are in a same-sex relationship? I only ask as I am too 🙂

Day 71 - Sun 13th March - 9s 3lb
BMI 21.3
BF 23.7

I’m not worried about the scales at the moment, I knew I had three nights of quite serious food to come & I’m not at the end yet 😀 I'm having smaller portions & cutting other things back so I don't think I've actually overindulged that much, I think a lot is water weight from fish & chips & Chinese food...

I am still a bit concerned about my sugar & especially chocolate intake though. I was thinking this morning that - to my shame - I used to have two large hot chocolates with fresh whipped cream per day (which is a large part of what sent me up from just over 9 stone to closer to 10) & I’ve given them up & I honestly don’t miss them. I can’t seem to do the same with actual chocolate, or rather when I do, I creep back to it. I managed a day without any last week & felt so much better for it. Still ate it the next day though. Argh!

I’ve seen a thread entitled something like: “I’ve just eaten a third of a jar of Nutella” by a woman who has the same demon, I’ll have to look that up 🤔

Have a good Sunday all 🙂

SunshineCake1 · 13/03/2022 12:44

Hi everyone

Did a really good 5km this morning on the treadmill and pleased with the time. Then walked the dog then I haven't stopped doing housework. Dh is bringing DD home but probably another 2-3 hours depending on if they stop and the traffic.

No weight loss again. Crept up slightly since my whoosh. Have to admit I am fed up.

Crazzzycat · 13/03/2022 13:45

@8stone13, I live just outside of Snowdonia National Park. It’s not one of those cliffs that has the sea lapping against it at the bottom though, so perhaps a little less idyllic than it may have sounded originally!

By the way, how much chocolate are you eating?! I have a few pieces of chocolate pretty much every day (25g). That adds about 12 grams of sugar, but as I eat very few other things with added sugar, I don’t really see it as that much of a problem for me. I’m much more fixated with salt at the moment. I have made good progress with bringing the salt levels down to a more acceptable level, but not sure I’ll keep it up. Everything just tastes so bland 😣 Healthy eating is hard sometimes!

Foreverlexicon · 13/03/2022 14:02

@SunshineCake1 don’t be fed up! You are making real progress especially with your exercise amidst all the stress you’re under and that’s really admirable.

It’s too late to walk for original offer. I did finally get another through the other day for a mass recruitment thing (took them a month to process my interview!) but I don’t really want to…I was self employed for 7 years so I just still resent not owning my own time! Especially when it’s just policy with no common sense applied - I’m clearly not going to cancel my holiday over 1 day so work with me to find a solution Hmm

@8stone13 yes I am :) makes joint weight loss a bit easier since it always seems to fall off men!

@Crazzzycat still sounds idyllic to me! I recently moved and whilst we are in a village on the outskirts of a big town, every road around here seems to be a rat run and I miss the ‘proper’ countryside desperately. Even in the fields on the footpaths around here I can always hear a road, it drives me mental!

Busy morning at work, now trying to convince myself to get off the coach to go run. Not feeling motivated!!

SunshineCake1 · 13/03/2022 16:38

Thank you @Foreverlexicon. I really needed that and need a hug so I'm taking your words as a hug. Thank you.

SunshineCake1 · 13/03/2022 16:38

Can I send you a PM please @Foreverlexicon re DD? No probs if not.

SunshineCake1 · 13/03/2022 18:27

Just thinking of you @TheRealHousewife. Hope you've had a nice time away and are feeling better.

Foreverlexicon · 13/03/2022 20:22

@SunshineCake1lf course you can! No need to ask, my inbox is always open Smile

SunshineCake1 · 13/03/2022 20:39

Thank you. Will do so now.

ImALittlePea · 14/03/2022 08:01

Morning all. Managed a slightly less indulgent weekend but trying not to translate that immediately into achieving a loss this week. Sun is shining here and DH off for the day with me and the 16mo so starting the week feeling positive. Have a good day everyone ❤️

129orbust · 14/03/2022 08:38

Good start to the week 131.8lbs which is really good for me on a Monday as I'm usually a few lbs up.
Might have a really careful day today and try to get out for a walk tonight to consolidate things.
Don't be fed up @SunshineCake1 - you have done so well x

Crazzzycat · 14/03/2022 08:41

Morning all! I finished my first week of sticking religiously to the calorie limit the NutraCheck app has set for me. I’ve lost three pounds. That sounds great on paper, but I’ve been SO hungry all week. I’ve also found that I’m much slower when I’m exercising, so I’m wondering if that calorie limit is really enough for me. Think I’ll stick to it for a few more days and then reevaluate 🤔

Have a good day everyone!

8stone13 · 14/03/2022 09:03

Morning all & happy twisting melons day (can't remember who said that on the other thread 😀)

Day 72 - Mon 14th March - 9s 3 & 3/4lb
BMI 21.4
BF 23.9

Not too worried as yesterday was night three of salty food, & I don't feel any different.

@Foreverlexicon 🙂👋🏻 I've just worked out that if you're about to turn 30 I've been out since before you were born! 😮😀

@Crazzzycat Sounds lovely ☺️ Don't ask about the chocolate. I can easily sink a 110g bar & feel I've not had enough. Working on getting a grip of it...

buzzofthebumblebee · 14/03/2022 09:35

hello all. sneaking back in as despite my good intentions last week, my head wasn't with it and I indulged in carbs and wine. Felt rubbish - body and mind.

New week, fresh start, kindness to myself, and positive thinking.

Keep up the good work everyone.

youdoyoutoday · 14/03/2022 09:47

Tut tut for me!!
14 stones on the scales this morning, I'm going to blame my period and not the rather indulgent weekend!!

Also no bootcamp this morning as I've hurt my shoulder, think I slept funny on it so I'm resting up today but will get out for a walk later as I have bits to get from the High St and its a lovely day out! A good good walk will dust away the cobwebs!

Happy Monday 🌞

Happy Monday 🌞

Foreverlexicon · 14/03/2022 11:35

Grumble I only lost 0.8lb this week. Which isn’t surprising as I’ve been pretty lax with food. But I’m 0.9lb from my target for Thailand so I have 3 days Grin not going to crash diet as really, 0.9lb means nothing but hoping with a few very on track days, maybe I’ll hit it?!

Lots to do before then and 3 more shifts to go so hopefully I’ll be a bit too busy to snack much!
