I started 21st March at 14 stone 13lbs, 24th April I weighed in at 14 stone exactly. I haven't been doing any exercise so this loss is purely diet related, very few side effects, just a bit of nausea mainly after eating too much.
I compared my pictures on the me360 app and I've lost inches from everywhere. The biggest loss was 6 inches from my hips! I know this app is not 100% accurate but it gives me a good idea of how I'm changing.

Mortigua · 27/04/2022 10:17

Hi, can I join please ? I just did my first injection and I messed it up a bit (didn’t see the bit about leaving it 6 seconds after injecting ) I’ve only bought one pen for now so will see how I get on. I’ve been lurking and reading how everyone is getting on, hoping I get on ok. I had been doing well with exercise and diet changes but a combination of being back at work (from home so just sitting down) and losing my motivation food and drink wise over Xmas and not really regaining it fully has meant I now have probably 3 stone to lose but would be happy for now with a kick start .

Hi everyone,
im 6 weeks in and 14 lbs down. Feeling a lot more confident already.
I’ve got another 14-20 lbs I would like to lose so I’m gonna carry on as I am.
im currently on 1.8 and that seems to be about right for now.
out of interest where is everyone getting their pens from and how much do you pay? I’m trying to find a more affordable option.
thanks

Mortigua · 28/04/2022 19:13

Can I ask how long before you all noticed a change in appetite or anything noticeable? I’m on the second day of 0.6 and nothing yet but I’m probably expecting too much too soon?

Silverjellybean71 · 28/04/2022 22:39

Straight away for me, and no side effects

Mortigua · 29/04/2022 12:46

I am finding I get side effects if I eat too much of the wrong foods but it isn’t really stopping me from wanting to do it in the first place yet - it is perhaps helping a bit but certainly hasn’t taken away my appetite. It’s portion control I have issues with , I’m trying to up protein as that has helped before . Wondering if it isn’t going to work but it’s only my third day.

pollyroo · 29/04/2022 14:42

I ate a little too much yesterday & felt a bit tired & sicky ... and by too much I mean - 2 boiled eggs, 1 piece of whole meal toast, a baby bel cheese & a small advacado. Felt instantly bloated & far too full. So really toned it down today & feel much better.

I started on 1.2 yesterday & definitely feeling it's affecting my appetite much more now.

I felt it affect my appetite after the first 0.6 dose a couple of hours later, appetite just dwindled.

cherrypiepie · 01/05/2022 22:30

Hi everyone I'm new to saxenda (but not dieting I'm an expert at that - confessed chronic yo yoer here)

Should I buy one pen or 5 to get started?

One to see if I can tolerate it or 5 to commit for a few weeks?

Does anyone use the full dose? Seen lots saying they stay a lower amount

Thanks

deewillow · 01/05/2022 22:58

Hi I’m a newbie too, well I started last week. Day 5 jab this evening and around 5lb loss so far! On the 0.6 dose and plan to stay there for as long as I can. I initially bought one pen just incase it didn’t agree with me. The first evening I took it I did have horrid headache for about 3 hours but no side effects since then.
I’ve totally lost interest in eating which is unheard of !! And do have to force myself to eat a small lunch and something in the evening. Making sure I drink plenty. How long have people managed to stay on the lowest dose for?

Mortigua · 02/05/2022 15:03

I wonder if i would be better taking it in the evening . I am finding it does affect my appetite but takes a good few hours and by then I’ve eaten because I’m starving 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyone know if there is an optimum time to do the injection ? I have been doing it 9 am ish but finding it’s not till 3pm ish I notice any effect at all, it is helping with evening though as I’m eating less .

Mortigua · 02/05/2022 15:04

Has anyone drink alcohol on it? I haven’t yet but drank Saturday so didn’t do the injection and I know that is not the spirit at all!

lardass88 · 02/05/2022 18:54

I'm looking at ozempic but was just wondering where the best place to get it from online was?

AdditionalCharacter · 03/05/2022 10:42

Lost the last thread when MN changed sites

I'm 6 weeks in and have lost 13lbs. Happy with that although was hoping for a little more.

I have 2 more sax pens left and need to order. I had budgeted 3 months on sax then going to Ozempic, but wondering if I should just order ozempic. I like the idea of a weekly injection, my thighs are covered in tiny bruises.

Where are people ordering ozempic from and do you have a code?

I'm on the ozempic FB group and the admins seem to be from some clinic and advise ordering from them directly but I'm not keen on using a site that doesn't come up when googling ozempic.

LighterHeart · 03/05/2022 12:05

I order Ozempic from Quick Meds (had my post mentioning that removed on FB). There is a £5 off discount code REPEAT5. The first time I ordered I received a phone call from the pharmacist (pre-arranged over WhatsApp, so I could take it at a time good for me). It was about 10 minutes, and very helpful in terms of what to expect, and any questions I had.

AdditionalCharacter · 03/05/2022 20:03

Thank you @LighterHeart , I'll take a look at that site.

whatever1980 · 03/05/2022 22:52

Hi @Mortigua I think evening suits me better too. I still get nauseous and taking it mornings I'm still hungry for a while but really nauseous

Why are we meant to increase the dosage? Is it because it stops working at ie 0.6 or body gets used to it so need to up it?

Mortigua · 04/05/2022 07:51

Thanks whatever1980 , I took it yesterday early evening and it did help at least psychologically with the evening so that’s good and hopefully will be effective today as it will have fully kicked in. I’m not sure about dosage either so will be interested to hear .

Hi all,

I'm one week in. 3kg down, (13 down in total this year, long way to go).

First two days felt some nausea but wasn't sick and no food cravings.
Day 3 (bank holiday)I was hungry, had dinner early about 4pm and then nothing for rest of the night.
Day 4, first day working after taking it, I was hungry again straight after breakfast, so had lunch early and then felt fine rest of day.
Day 5 first day in office after taking it, and I felt like a mumsnet competitive under-eater, I got a wrap for lunch (first food of the day) and was full after half, took the other half home for dinner. Felt quite smug and a little confused.

I'm taking it around 8 in the morning. The lack of peckishness or craving for takeaway/cake in the evenings is quite miraculous. A little disconcerting too, that I'm that easily controlled Grin
I plan to do another week on .6 and see how it goes.

jay55 · 17/05/2022 12:33

Went up to 1.2 Sunday, on Monday felt nauseous all day, couldn't eat. Went back to .6 today as in office and didn't want to deal with any reactions.

eyeoftheworld · 17/05/2022 13:01

Just ordered 3 pens of Saxenda from Boots, nervous to get started and really hoping it helps me break out of my eating habits. It's become a bit of a crutch for me after having a stressful few years.

I'm wondering what the best time of day would be to take it? I take Sertraline after dinner in the evening to minimise the acid/heartburn feeling - would it be best to take Saxenda in the morning to space the medications out? Or maybe just before I go to bed, to hopefully sleep through the side effects?

I’ve read where people increase by 1 click and see how they feel and so on instead of just going up to the next dose, may help if you feel you need to increase?

jay55 · 18/05/2022 16:43

@Rinatinabina have read about the moving by one click. Might try a half way for a few days.
To be honest I've mostly been fine on .6, and maybe don't need to change it yet.

@eyeoftheworld Not sure about interactions. It makes me quite burpy but that doesn't seem to be tied to what time I take it.

Fedupmum21 · 19/05/2022 16:29

Hi everyone, I’m collecting my prescription from boots tomorroW and I’m so nervous but excited to start! Just wondering if anyone has any tips re best time to take the injections, and also are people following specific diets e.g. slimming world or just counting calories? How long have people been on saxenda and how much have you lost? I need to loose at least 5/6 stone to get near a healthy BMI- feels so overwhelming but I’m so determined this time!!

Tellytummytubby · 19/05/2022 21:16

Hi everyone I’m on day 3 but have started off with a half dose 0.3ish (5 then 6 then 7 clicks) for fear of side effects having read lots on MN and FB beforehand. Glad I’m starting slowly and chosen 7pm as after the first jab was floored with fatigue I had to go bed immediately. Yesterday was better but today I had (sorry TMI) explosive diarrhoea at work which came on suddenly. Feeling a slight reduction in appetite and just a general meh feeling. Really hoping the upset stomach gets better as I won’t be able to cope with it daily. Any one else?

Rinatinabina · 19/05/2022 22:41

I switched mine to 11pm starting on 3 clicks and working up over a week. It made a big difference to fatigue, lost 2.6lbs over the first week so I think its fine but I felt totally normal during the day except little interest in snacking and still got full quickly. Had a bit of a dodgy stomach but thats only been on day 7.
