Hi I @AmbushedByTheCake

How was your first injection? I read taking it before bed means you slept through the nausea. Took it around 7 last night but was starving at 10. Started to feel nauseous around 12 and have woken up feeling nauseous and foggy.

Not sure if I'm taking it at wrong time for me. I'm a late afternoon evening snicker so wanted maximum impact no hunger then

bellac11 · 10/04/2022 10:42

Im updating the thread on my progress

Im just coming to the end of 4 weeks now on Ozempic and so far have lost 8lbs according to the scales this morning. I have 3 more days to make it to 4 weeks (I jab on a Tuesday evening)

I have ordered my next pen and upped a dose, just to see really. I am currentlly on 0.25 and will move to 0.5. However I dont feel hungry on the current dose but also have no side effects to notice, perhaps a slight bit of nausea last week but I think that was migraine and vertigo related which I suffer from anyway

If the 0.5 is the same level of hunger then I will simply stick to low doses as I dont want more meds in me than I actually need

My beef is still that I am averaging a very low calorie intake but this is not represented on the scales. For my weight the amount Im eating should result in 3lbs loss every week but its only been 2lbs a week (which I know people will say is amazing which it is in one way) but my issue is that the deficit and loss is not tallying up. Im confused by this because in the past without meds, for the time that Im able to stick to low cal intakes my loss always tallys with it. Sort of like clockwork.
Its therefore making me worried that perhaps the medication is slowing down my metabolism. I have tried researching information about this online but cant find evidence of that as a side effect.

Anyway I will continue, this is the only thing that has ever made me able to feel comfortable and confident to eat less. It feels like I am a 'normal' person now and arent afraid to be around food, to see adverts on telly for burgers and pizza without craving them and feeling empty, to stop eating when Im full (this is unheard of for me), to feel full, to not be consumed 24/7 with 'what can I eat/how can I not eat'. It just isnt a feature in my life anymore. Its like an addiction that has just vanished.

I've upped my dose to the next increment. Was wiped out energy wise yesterday and spent the day doing nothing. Had a few carbs (cornflakes) as I felt like I was running on empty. Feel better this morning.

Weight loss 6lb now. At least my clothes feel looser now.

Whitney168 · 10/04/2022 12:02

Does anyone else up and down their doses depending on the day ahead? (I do my jab last thing at night.)

I take a lower dose for the weekend, as I know I won't be sitting at my desk for hours, which is my downfall.

Motnight · 10/04/2022 12:31

I have been taking Saxenda for 10 days. Lost 6 lbs. Incredibly pleased, although I am obese and have a lot to lose.

After experimenting about what time to take it, I now inject about 8 pm. I did it just before bed for the first few times and slept really badly, not sure if it was just a coincidence or not.

I am still on the 0.6 dose because it is working for me. Really hoping that this is going to get me into good habits so that eventually I can stop taking it.

HostessTrolley · 10/04/2022 14:56

I’ve just completed my first week on 0.6. Lost 1.4kg (about 3lb) but also got my period which usually adds fluid weight. No side effects but definitely reduced appetite. I’m eating what I feel like and going with the flow, but tracking on MFP and it’s coming out at about 1400cals/day - it’s been my sons graduation during the week so that includes a meal out and a fair bit of prosecco. Have done my first injection of 1.2 this morning. Have also been on night shifts and don’t feel that being on saxenda has caused any issues in this respect, I just do my injection in the morning, regardless of whether I’ve just got up, or whether I’m going to bed x

Sockpile · 11/04/2022 08:59

3weeks+3 days in. I’ve just gone up to 2.4.

My starting weight was 285lbs and I’m currently 266.6lbs so a loss of 18.4lbs so far.

Fantastic, Sockpile!

DiminishedSevenths · 11/04/2022 12:36

Hello all, can I join your gang? I've been dieting for about 25 years and have overall achieved nothing. In fact I'm heavier than I've ever been. I'm now in the obese category and feel like I need to do something different. None of my clothes fit, I can't wear my wedding ring and I'm huffing and puffing just going up one flight of stairs.

I've ordered Ozempic and took my first dose last night. No side effects so far but my appetite has totally evaporated (could be psychological I suppose). I'm combing it with Fast800 to begin with. I'm also weighing every day to keep me motivated and logging in Happy Scale to see the trend.

I'm 163 cm and was 81.3 kg on Friday down to 80.4 kg this morning. Aiming for 65kg as a starting point to get me into a normal BMI range.

Carriemac · 12/04/2022 08:10

I seem to have stalled after 2 weeks and 5 llbs weight loss . Need to up dose but afraid the slight 'sicky' feeling and headaches will get worse . Also going abroad this weekend for 3 nights and don't want to bring needles etc ard so was going to miss 2 days -

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 12/04/2022 08:40

I'm not tolerating the side effects of the next dose up. I'm absolutely exhausted, sleepy and weak. I'm not even awake enough to prepare and cook my health foods. I'm just going to stay on the lowest dose and hope it's enough to help.

Sockpile · 12/04/2022 11:59

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation I felt the same to start with- was in bed at 8.30 for a few nights! After a couple of weeks it did start to get better but each increase gives me a couple of sleepy/nauseous days before feeling ok again.

Motnight · 12/04/2022 12:57

I have been on the 0.6 dose for 11 days now, starting to feel as though I need to go up to the next dose. I was hoping to stay on the lowest dose possible but I am feeling very hungry today.

Whitney168 · 12/04/2022 13:16

What time do you do your jab, @BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation? I have always done mine as I'm about to go to bed and (touch wood) have noticed no side effects. Is that an option if you don't already do that?

Welcome to the thread, @DiminishedSevenths - and good luck, keep us posted.

Whitney168 · 12/04/2022 13:19

Any tips on where people are buying Saxenda at the moment, by the way? Need to think about re-ordering soon - not least because Boots seemed to take ages last time.

Would also much prefer it if I could get them delivered to home address, but with Boots you need to collect in store.

DiminishedSevenths · 12/04/2022 13:28

I am on Ozempic rather than Saxenda but haven't had any side effects yet (apart from loss of appetite). Although I've only taken one dose so far. I took it in the evening. I'm on the lowest dose (0.5 mg).

Motnight · 12/04/2022 16:31

I have bought my first lot from Asda online. Went through really quickly and delivered to your house.
EachandEveryone · 13/04/2022 06:41

I really dont know what to do. Im on 1.2 but I dont know if its worth it for me. Every time I go up the nausea is terrible and the constipation horrific. Also its not a miracle cure for me. St first I loved it but as the time goes on if feels like a very expensive prop. I think theres a tv show about it tonight.

HairyButtMonkey · 14/04/2022 18:04

I've been on this a week now and lost about 4lbs overall (fluctuating) but not sure I can continue. Am on 0.6 but just feel shite all the time. Constant sore tum, not really eating much, little interest in food - in fact everything tastes a bit crap, which isn't much of an incentive for healthy eating. The worst bit tho is I'm just so tired and unenthusiastic about everything; including exercising. I'm going to miss tonight's dose and see how I feel as meeting friends tomorrow and don't want to feel as lethargic as I felt today.
@EachandEveryone - what is the TV program you mentioned?

EachandEveryone · 14/04/2022 21:32

It was itv called fighting for it will be on catch up

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 16/04/2022 17:12

I had a 0.6 dose last night and another 0.6 dose this morning and I'm still wiped out 😥

How long will this last? I'm still hungry on 0.6 once a day. There's just no point doing this.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 16/04/2022 17:22

Should I do the dose at night? Will it last during the day?

Brownduck · 16/04/2022 18:17

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation why are you splitting the dose in two - it’s a daily injection.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 16/04/2022 19:40

I know, but I'm not coping with a dose of 1.2 straight off. Perhaps I need to inject it at night. I'm fed up because I'm so tired and weak with it. I feel like I have the flu. I can't function like this.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 16/04/2022 19:42

I've had some appetite suppressant granules tonight as well. I'm sick of feeling hungry. I've never known hunger like it, it's due to menopause 😥
