^ it was my first week taking it.

Orangemoon77 · 14/03/2022 12:27

@BeHappy91818 I had really bad side effects when I injected my stomach. Others have said time of day can cause issues.

Personally I only inject in my thigh now and at 7.30am ish every day. I still get the occasional nausea but a lot better.

Hope this time it’s a lot better for you

Ooo! That may help as I injected every dose into my stomach.
I did try 10am and then 2pm & 6pm and I was still up every night.

I didn’t even lose any actual weight either!

I will try my thigh when I start again! I’m just catching up on my sleep just incase!

Notthatbad · 14/03/2022 15:55

@Orangemoon77 That's what I was hoping. Will definitely be extra careful tomorrow but worried that I lost some of the dose.
Day 1 for me and feel ok so far. Injected at 11am so will see what the evening brings!

CannaBelieve · 14/03/2022 22:34

You can still eat Smile
bellac11 · 15/03/2022 20:47

Well I was starving so I had to, but when I was looking into all this I thought I remembered something about not eating for 30 mins after the injection, but I cant find it now.

DianaBarry5 · 16/03/2022 20:42

How long do Asda take to approve saxenda after sending photographs?

Orangemoon77 · 16/03/2022 21:07

@DianaBarry5 mine was approved the same day but did submit really early in the morning.

DianaBarry5 · 16/03/2022 21:13

Orangemoon77

Thanks I ordered early this morning but I later had an email asking for pics which I didn't send until 6pm so probably tomorrow.

DianaBarry5 · 16/03/2022 21:15

So excited to start on saxenda and enjoy wearing nice clothes again!

GiBlues · 17/03/2022 09:54

Another 2lbs gone this week, 12lb in total now.

Orangemoon77 · 17/03/2022 10:14

Well done @GiBlues that’s amazing!

@DianaBarry5 good luck for when it arrives.

Gingernaut · 17/03/2022 10:39

Started Saxenda on Tuesday at 0.6 daily dose.

Yesterday and today have been the first time I've ever woken up and my first thought has not been food.

Could barely eat an Aldi porridge pot yesterday and today, I've eaten a protein yoghurt with mango pieces and not gone hunting for more food.

Utterly weird for me.

The needle is so fine I can't feel it and aside from a little nausea, I've been fine so far.

AdditionalCharacter · 19/03/2022 20:28

I've just been approved through Boots for Saxenda. Quite excited to get it, my pharmacy isn't open until Monday, wish I'd specified a different branch now.

FavouriteMug · 20/03/2022 07:05

Those of you self funding Ozempic, where are you getting it please

Peridot1 · 20/03/2022 09:33

@FavouriteMug - I got mine from The Virtual Slimming Clinic. I had to answer some questions online and wait for approval. I got a phone call to say I had been approved and ask if I had any questions. It was dispatched pretty quickly. Arrived in a huge box considering the size! The pen has to be kept in the fridge before use so comes with ice packs and insulation hence the big box.

I got mine from pilldoctor

I was waiting until Wednesday to update this thread but I'll give a little update now. It arrived on Tuesday in a massive cold box, kept its temperature very well. I took it straight away so my first proper day is Wednesday as I went to bed soon after taking it.

I have barely felt hungry since. On Thursday morning I had a bit of an upset tummy but nothing severe. Ive been able to stick to around 800 to 1000 cals without craving or struggling. Yesterday I probablly took in around 1100 and went to bed with severe gut ache because I had a handful (and I mean a handful, cant have been many) chips that my OH had ordered for his chippy tea (I had already eaten a salmon salad) and just by eating what I didnt really need, a small amount it sent me to bed with tummy ache!!

I will update on Wednesday with the loss.

I chose ozempic because reading the side effects of saxenda, I felt I would be affected by those, I suffer with vertigo and nausea and insomnia anyway and dont want those to get worse (perimenopause symptoms)

Sockpile · 20/03/2022 10:45

I started saxenda on Thursday, I bought it from Boots.

Feel a little tired and queasy but not too bad - I can’t tell if my appetite has decreased or I’m eating less because I want this to work after paying out so much!

I have a significant amount of weigh to lose, about 8 stone.

ChequerboardCharlie · 20/03/2022 15:51

How are people finding the psychological/changing your life side of things? I’m on 1.2, I get hungry but can only eat about 1/3 of what I used to eat. I’m very happy with it, but I’m feeling a bit lost socially- it’s made me realise how much of my social life revolves around food. I want things to change but I’m struggling to find alternatives to ‘meeting for lunch’. I’m also struggling with what to eat after years of failing diets. I don’t know whether to eat smaller portion of anything or whether to follow a ‘diet plan’. I want to change my life and I love the way Saxenda means I just don’t think about food any more, but I’m realising the psychological changes aren’t easy.

bellac11 · 20/03/2022 16:01

I was invited out for lunch today but declined as I want to get my head around what I can eat

My approach moving forward is I suppose to eat like slim people eat, they go out for meals but they dont stuff themselves like I normally would some people chase food round their plates and dont finish a meal, thats how its likely to be for me now. However Im cautious that what I eat needs to be easy to count, so perhaps going to chain restaurants where they have dreaded and depressing calorie counts on the menus. But that would be the case whether I was on the meds or not if I wanted to stick to this properly. The effect of the meds simply means Im not tempted to eat more than the amount I should be, so can take the food or leave it.

I feel a sense of relief, not wondering how I can get food, but equally stay away from food. Every advert on the telly for burgers or pizza would drive me mad, to smell or see food or to think about it would get me craving for it. I dont feel that at the moment. I really hope this is not just a short term response and that I can go for around 6+ months on this stuff to get some serious way off

bellac11 · 20/03/2022 16:02

weight off

ChequerboardCharlie · 20/03/2022 17:16

I think all my life when I’ve looked at a menu it’s been about finding the most delicious, but also filling item on the menu. Whereas now I’m just not bothered. I was in town the other day and would have normally gone for sit down sushi for lunch but I grabbed a tuna sandwich and threw half away. It’s eye opening to be one of those people for whom food is fuel. It’s also really helped me see that I wasn’t a weak or bad person, I really do have some problem with hunger hormones. I really hope this sticks when I stop the medication.

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 21/03/2022 10:13

Good morning, just thought I'd check in and do a quick update.
I've been on Sax for 5 weeks now and have lost 6lbs in total which I am very happy with as that is 6lbs I wouldn't have lost without it.
I'm still on 0.6, though occasionally go up an extra "click" if I've had a couple of hungry days but then I go back to 0.6.
It is so wonderful not to have to obsess about food any more. Like yesterday I went to the supermarket and just bought the items on the list and wasn't bothered about sneaking in any extras whilst in the confectionery section. I eat normally, I don't count calories or stick to just diet food. I just only eat when I am hungry and enough to satisfy me and I have noticed I'm not snacking half as much.
Apart from sickness when I have injected into my tummy, I have had no negative side effects - just thighs full of bruises.
So I just came here to say keep going to everyone, it does work. I'm so glad I discovered Sax and decided to invest in it. I've still got a lot of weight to loose but slow and steady is better then not loosing weight as at all.
