@Allaboutthebooks thats's fantastic. @Judystilldreamsofhorses I agree that staying the same is a win.

I'm up a pound today, 9st2.75, probably cumulative and water. I'm not doing enough steps at the moment which I think is part of the reason. Not having a great week tbh, we lost a family friend yesterday (she was like a second Mum to my DH, its been coming for a while but its going to be so hard for him, also other stuff going on. Also had about 3 nights of really bad sleep last two have been okish. Nevermind, its nearly the weekend.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses - sometimes staying the same is still a win! We all know weight loss is never linear. So many things can affect weight.

@Octopus37 - so sorry to hear about your family friend. What a tough time you're having. Sending Thanks and a big unmumsnetty hug.

Well I have covid. Tested positive yesterday so am in isolation at home. Have my bedroom and the en-suite. Have chucked dh out to the spare room! The rest of the family tested negative yesterday so am going to be really strict to try and avoid them getting it. On the plus side at least I can't get to the snacks very easily!

LBB2020 · 10/02/2022 08:30

Sorry for your loss @Octopus37
Hope you’re not feeling too bad @QueenMabby
Yesterday was an ok day, went over my calories on MyFitnessPal but had been under on Tuesday so nets out! Also did an exercise video Tuesday night and hoping to do another tonight. Would really like to see 10st7lb by end of February

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 10/02/2022 09:04

QueenMabby, hope it passes quickly. Octopus, very sorry to hear that Flowers thinking of you.
I am feeling determined and committed for the first time in quite a while today. I would want to as I have been dreadful and feeling crap as a result. I am committing to cool boiled water with lemon to start day, 2.5L water minimim, no screen overnight and I have left my wallet at home to cut off possible spending on junk. Looking forward to feeling sugar sober.

Octopus37 · 10/02/2022 09:09

Wow well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy.

Thanks everyone for the unmumsnetty hugs, its not really my loss. She was a lovely lady though, have known here since I knew my DH. She made and decorated the cake for our wedding. I haven't seen much of here in recent years cause my DH tended to visit them during the day when I was working. I did see her on her Birthday though on 2nd January, which I'm glad about.

@QueenMabby sorry to hear you have Covid, look after yourself.

swallowedAfly · 10/02/2022 10:29

Sorry to hear that Octopus - sad news.

And sorry about the covid QueenM - hope you have a mild case.

12:3. Rubbish at the minute. Hey ho. Sort of period is still ongoing - like you Octopus I'd love to know what periods are meant to be like on HRT because mine have really changed and I don't know if that's hrt or peri progressing. Hopefully some energy is coming down stream towards me.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 10/02/2022 16:50

I'm checking in just to say day one of proper effort going very well. I am about 2L of water in, I have had an early dinner ahead of sport later and I have side stepped a slab of cake in the fridge. One cake day at a time! Grin

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 10/02/2022 20:31

10/7 again here but have done almost 15,000 steps which is good. @Allaboutthebooks @Octopus37 @QueenMabby thank you for the reassurance, and sorry to hear of Covid and awful sad news. ❤️

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 10/02/2022 20:43

Checking in again - yes I'm going to be the needy one very much - So I have made it... To a junk free day! As usual when you actually do it, it is fine.
Blueberries, banana and Greek yoghurt, cappuccino
Chicken sandwich and mandarin
Chicken curry with rice
Camomile and 12k steps. Will weigh in morning. I'm predicting 9st 5 maybe. Will go from there.

MadeinSW3 · 10/02/2022 22:51

Slipped off the wagon last week and had a gain due to lots of take away food and Easter chocolate , mist regroup!

swallowedAfly · 11/02/2022 07:38

12.:1.8 apparently.

Judy are you doing any non scales measurements? You might be losing inches despite not budging on scales.

Octopus37 · 11/02/2022 07:40

Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy. I had a slightly better day yesterday, 9st1.25 this morning. Yay, its nearly the weekend.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 11/02/2022 08:36

Thanks octopus. I was v close with my guess, I was 9 st 4.75 this morning. Slept well and didn't turn on phone when woke Star Had my hot water and lemon this morning. Have an important match tomorrow so motivation enough not to eat crap and get plenty of water. Feeling determined! Have a good day all.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/02/2022 08:54

10/7 this morning again but should be a heavy step day.

@swallowedAfly I am not, maybe I should. The thing is I am fine in my clothes as I am usually about 10/3 or 10/4, which is why it is easy for me to bumble along not making much real effort other than not to gain. Wrong attitude!

CharlieBubbles88 · 11/02/2022 12:40

Sorry to everyone who is ill and/or having a tough time

I'll weigh in tomorrow which will be five weeks of being on the wagon. I'll be on day 30 of yoga which means I've done 6 days a week for the full five weeks, which I'm quite pleased with. Steps also good this week, curently on 110,000 for the week

With that said the sleep eating is at an all time high. Examples are 1 bag of popcorn and two tins of soup, the next night was FIVE bags of popcorn and a tin of soup, and last night was a pack of ham I was supposed to be taking to work, two bags of popcorn, some beef stew I had in the fridge along with some roasted butternut squash (pre-roasted for soup)

So the goods intentions are there, I'm putting the effort in, but sleep Charlie is undoing it all! Feeling very deflated and disheartened this week

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 11/02/2022 21:53

Wow that is mad Charlie. Are you aware of it at the time? At least it is all fairly decent stuff.
I've had another good day here. Lemon and hot water, check, water, check-ish, no snacking check and will keep phone off overnight - does anyone else have this awful habit if they tend to wake up?

swallowedAfly · 12/02/2022 08:38

I fall asleep in front of a screen so I can't comment HeyGirl.

I'm allegedly 11:13.2 this morning after a busy low cal day yesterday. Seems I was carrying quite a bit of menstrual bloat and water retention that's hopefully gone now.

Still slightly above where I was a month ago before cold, hungry slug mode kicked in but glad to see the number 11 again instead of 12. Fingers crossed can stay there. Just over 7 weeks till I go on holiday so would be really good to get back to some serious losing.

CharlieBubbles88 · 12/02/2022 08:57

No, so I don’t even have the benefit of enjoying it
Last night two bags of popcorn, all the left over squash and a tin of tuna. I’ve gone up a lb this week despite massively restricting awake calories and averaging 25,000 steps a day this week. I could cry
Well done on the positive changes and losses. All sound great

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/02/2022 09:01

Oh Charlie, that is hard and doesn't seem right either considering what you're eating isn't junk and you're doing so many steps.. Slept till 6, no phone. Porridge and coffee so far followed by soup and sandwiches post match later. Feeling good and feeling strong minded. I know I will be feeling better, more energy and better sleep, just to keep it going now!!
Committing to: 3L water (because sports), no junk, lemon water and no phone through the night. Teeth and skincare good.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/02/2022 09:04

Should add, the teeth thing is because of calling it a day on food and also spending time flossing, properly cleaning, which on a big snacking night is done in a rush. Just something I have noticed that I give the time to eating over the selfcare of teeth and skin.. Just in case anyone thought I wasn't brushing my teeth Grin

CharlieBubbles88 · 12/02/2022 10:49

I know. It’s not really bad stuff but is anywhere between 500-1000 kcals every night! And that’s when I don’t find the sweets Grin

Sounds like your doing great and I’m the right frame of mind! A lot of what your doing are things I’m starting to do to

Yoga and arms done. Off for a long walk to visit family. Helps to have a reason/destination rather than just randomly walking the streets!

Octopus37 · 12/02/2022 15:12

@swallowedAfly well done. @CharlieBubbles88 the sleep eating sounds really difficult,. 9st1.75 this morning, not in the right place at the moment but it will happen.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 13/02/2022 08:05

It definitely will octopus. I have just had a look at my fitbit and I burned 900 cals during exercise yesterday! Star Delighted with that. However I ate some sugary stuff as ds greeted me with a creme egg and jellies when I got home and, weak as it sounds, didn't want to disappoint him - he had gone to shop especially to get some things to 'have a little party'. Oh well. Not a dreadful day at same time. Waterneater water all.
Committing to hot water and lemon, no phone overnight, skin and teeth and no junk. Sleep going great!
