Welcome @Minesababycham. No weigh in for me today, yesterday wasn't too bad with food. My steps have been better the last couple of days which is something.

10/8 here today. My bathroom habits are all over the place at the moment so logically I know it’s that.

@swallowedAfly it was me who started that conversation about dress sizes here. I’m 5ft 6 and a comfortable size 10 - I bought some new (not skinny) jeans yesterday actually. I have a small waist/big bum even if I am half a stone lighter so maybe that’s it? Definitely not wearing clingy clothes though!

Octopus37 · 03/02/2022 07:33

Weighed in today at 9st, quite pleased with that. A day at a time.

Well done @Octopus37 - a loss worth celebrating!

I've just had my hrt tweaked by my gp and oh my god - I have energy again! I've been much more active this week so 🤞🏻 that'll translate to a loss for me next week.

LBB2020 · 03/02/2022 10:34

Not a bad couple of days mainly due to work being crazy busy so I’ve not had chance to eat or snack! Not enough steps or exercise though, or water! Daily reminder to drink your water people! Grin
Will weigh in tomorrow

CharlieBubbles88 · 03/02/2022 13:04

I have a 2 litre water bottle on my desk that I top a glass up from throughout the day to make sure I'm drinking enough

Today was the first time since I started that I didn't get up early enough to do yoga/arm workout before work. Luckily I don't have any overtime today so at least I can fit it in when I get home. I must be tired though as I have the dreaded twitchy eye

Had a good day step wise yeterday, just shy of 18km, so that is likely why Grin

Yeah that sounds similar to her. I put weight on on my boobs and tummy but retain quite a small bum and don't put a lot on my legs. Maybe clothes are more forgiving of bums and less so of tums? Who knows.

I was still 12st today and went for a pub lunch with my sister today to celebrate surviving Ikea shopping trip so may avoid the scales tomorrow! My period is overdue (or it is for what it used to be but with peri who bloody knows what normal is) so hoping once that finally comes things will start shifting.

Well done to losing and maintaining folks and to newcomers doing the hard getting started bit.

Hi sneaking back after messing up most of January due to covid...wondering if you lovely people could answer a question for me. I'm calorie counting and staying at 1300 I lost 9lbs last week obviously delighted this week though I've not lost a measly ounce. My diet is pretty carby but under in cals I don't really want to get into the whole macros thing so my question is do you think its just 2nd week diet plateau or do I need to curb the cards as well as the cals

Chattycatty · 03/02/2022 22:30

Carbs not cards stupid phone Confused

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/02/2022 23:05

10/8 again here, but my period started. I am on the mini pill and think peri is pushing through it. My skin went crazy this week too. God. Should I be thinking about HRT? I’m 48. My surgery are not seeing patients unless they are literally dying.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/02/2022 23:06

@Chattycatty 9lb in a week is a phenomenal amount!

LBB2020 · 04/02/2022 07:38

10st10lbs this morning so I’ve put on 0.5lb from last weigh in.
Need to make a bit of a plan I think as I really would like to get down to 10st by Easter and I’m just not really making much progress!
Wet and miserable here this morning, annoying as was planning a long walk with DS2 while the eldest is at preschool

Octopus37 · 04/02/2022 07:51

Wow @Chattycatty 9 pounds in a week, that is loads. @QueenMabby glad your GP was able to switch your HRT, the joys of perii not.

Have been a bit under the weather, keep doing covid tests but luckily negative. Didn't go out yesterday at all so hardly moved, no weigh in for me. Busy weekend ahead, sleep over for DS2's Birthday, DH away seeing family in Edinburgh. So need to not end up being positive.

Morning all. Fingers crossed for continuing negatives Octopus.

Chatty 9lbs in a week is a crazy amount so realistically not putting any of that back on for a week or two is a win rather than seeing it as a plateau.

Scale free day today after yesterday's meal out and then a bit of a crisps attack in the evening. Did well with water though - trying to see a positive.

QueenMabby · 04/02/2022 08:50

Morning all.
@Chattycatty - that's huge loss for week 1. Likely to be a lot of water weight coming off so you may see no loss for a week or so. Keep hydrated and as long as you're in a deficit the weight will come off. Just make sure the reduction in calories is not cancelled out by a reduction in movement!

@Judystilldreamsofhorses - I'm 45 (nearly 46) and have been on hrt since May last year. I was still having regular periods but the other symptoms (weight gain, bad sleep, brain fog etc) were getting disruptive. I can honestly say it's made such a difference to my life!

swallowedAfly · 04/02/2022 08:55

46 here and been on hrt since August. For me the hot flushes were the worst and making life unbearable despite still having pretty regular periods. They are much better now - still get the occasional one but they are usually less intense, shorter and less... for no reason at all itms.

CharlieBubbles88 · 04/02/2022 09:42

Chattycatty before Xmas I lost 6lbs in 6 days and have no idea how
I think you have to do what works for you. I'm okay on relatively low carbs and don't miss them a huge amount, but for some people they would just be miserable! Others can forgo meat and not miss it. You need to find a happy balance. I like quantity so lots of low calorie veg I enjoy to bulk meals out works for me

From my extremely basic understanding a lb is around 3,500 calories. So if you are in a deficit of 500 a day that’s about a lb a week. That’s why I couldn’t understand the 6lb as I would have had to have been in a 3,500 calorie deficit a day?!

As long as you are in a deficit you should lose, no matter where your calories come from, is the point of my rambling post Blush

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/02/2022 11:03

10/7 here today.

Hmmm re HRT. I am very, very anxious, and have been having issues with reflux, but no other physical symptoms really. My periods started coming about 22/25 days a couple of years back which was when I went on the mini pill. I’m just getting spotting really, not a proper period, but it’s annoying.

(Sorry to derail the thread.)

Reflux and anxiety are two of my main peri symptoms. They go with HRT.
Octopus37 · 05/02/2022 08:24

Sorry hope nobody minds a bit more derailment, but does anyone else find that they dont have proper periods even on HRT, just random spotting? For me the main symptoms were anxiety and wierd all over the placing random spotting instead of periods. That was what made me go to the GP a year ago, just in case in was something sinister, was relieved that it was just the change.

Back to weight, 9st1 today but have been very lazy cause of not feeling amazing, although of course didn't lose my appetite lol. Still negative though so whatever it is is hopefully on its way out.

Checking in. I have been doing OK, water needs further increasing. Went for a 3 course meal last night but all v healthy and dessert was mini enough. Haven't weighed but happy enough, will weigh mid week to keep an eye. Exercise good. Have a lovely weekend all. I will be referring to this thread when menopause comes knocking!!

LBB2020 · 05/02/2022 10:35

There are so many sickness bugs and cold/viruses doing the rounds at the moment! DS1 came through to our room at 3am this morning and threw up all over me, so that was fun! Lovely sunny morning here so will hopefully get out for some fresh air and exercise (once I’ve got through all the laundry!). Hope everyone that isn’t feeling well gets better soon and that everyone has a good weekend x

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/02/2022 10:43

10/7 here today.

Hope DS is better soon @LBB2020, and that everyone has lovely Saturdays.

LBB2020 · 05/02/2022 10:55

Thank you @Judystilldreamsofhorses!

QueenMabby · 05/02/2022 14:24

Oh @LBB2020 - how awful. Hope your dc feels better soon.

@Octopus37 - I still have proper periods on my hrt but my gp says that when I switch from cyclical to continuous progesterone (after 1 year) then my periods will stop.

I went out for a drink with some friends last night. Drove so one small glass of wine only. Felt very virtuous. BUT - DD is having a belated birthday party today so have eaten my weight in cake mix and buttercream. Feel a bit sick now. 😳
