A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fasting and eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

@RebeccaNoodles I'm going to remember that - thanks - it's a fantastic mantra 👏🏻

@SunshineCake1 Ouch 😬 Hope you heal soon

For those saying they feel too cold to drink water, have you tried hot water? I've been drinking hot water for about 24 years, I gave up tea & coffee when I discovered it. It's so warming & refreshing & calorie-free. I've always got a mug of hot water on the go.

chickaletta2022 · 01/02/2022 22:44

Weighed in today, 6lb down this month.
SW 13st 7lb
CW 13st 1lb
GW 11st
Still a way to go but I'm eating more healthier and exercising 4 days a week so hopefully I'll keep losing more weight.

TheRealHousewife · 01/02/2022 23:26

Welcome to the thread @BellaElla99 I’m doing ok so far thanks. Steady loss of about 1/2lb per week but don’t have much to lose. Some weeks I yo-yo but the trend in the main downwards.

@chickaletta2022 great January result 👍👏🏅

ginsparkles · 02/02/2022 06:59

Morning all!

Welcome @BellaElla99 January was a bit up and down for me, but I'm ok with that. Ended with a loss over the month and that's what was important.

Well done @chickaletta2022 and @campingqueen121 great losses.

Today will be a little trickier. Have been invited to a launch of a new tapas place, free tapas and drinks. So I can't drink as I have to drink but free tapas could be lethal!! Hoping if I stick to salad and have a banana just before I go I won't be too hungry so won't over indulge!

SunshineCake1 · 02/02/2022 07:09

Hi @BellaElla99 I feel like I'm eating enough in my two meals but then struggle around 7-9pm, not the whole time but it is within those times. Having a difficult time emotionally so don't know if it is that.

Thank you @8stone13. Still sore today but I am going to try and go on the treadmill and if I can't run I will put it on incline and walk. I did walk the dog with dh yesterday afternoon and it wasn't too bad but I was exhausted by the time we got to the end of the road.

Well done @chickaletta2022. Great losses!

I will weigh today for WOW. Hoping for something off!

RebeccaNoodles · 02/02/2022 07:10

Thanks to those who like my mantra. SmileNow I just have to put it into practice! ... I was down a pound yesterday but now I'm up again, maybe too much salt as two of my meals yesterday featured soy sauce Blush

But I won't give up but just start afresh:
CW and SW: 11 stone 3
GW: 9 stone 10

Good luck to everyone else on their Feb journey, we can do this! StarThanks

buzzofthebumblebee · 02/02/2022 07:51

Morning all. Lots of lovely people on here - old and new! No time for a decent post from me, sorry, but just to say 1st Feb last night and I still didn't have a drink! Alcohol leads to snacking, and 9pm + when I sit and try and relax is my biggest daily danger zone. Less chance of snacking with a camomile tea ; )

WOW (Weigh on Wednesday) stats for me:

SW 13 2
CW 11 2
GW 10 10

Sending lots of positive vibes.

BG2015 · 02/02/2022 07:52

So:
SW 13st 3lb
GW. 12st 7lb initially but would like to be 12st but setting myself a more realistic target first.

Re-joining the gym again and going to sign up to some classes. Still trying to walk for 30 minutes everyday.

Good luck for a weight loss for everyone this week

TheRealHousewife · 02/02/2022 08:26

Good Morning All

People might not have much progress to post as WOW has fallen only the 2nd of the month when we’ve all just weighed 2 days ago. Nonetheless on weighing this morning I’m down .3lb. This year down 3.1lb. Hope it sticks!

Menu
Meal 1 - Omelette (pea, ham & onion I think, not decided)
Meal 2 - Chicken, spicy cauliflower rice, carrots, broccoli, red onion, red pepper.
Tea, black coffee, water. Nairns gf oat cake/cream cheese.

Have a good rest of the week!

swampytiggaa · 02/02/2022 08:51

Just weighed in… slightly less than yesterday same as last Wednesday. I can live with that. Work has been random I haven’t been able to exercise and my food has been all over the place. Plus the husband has been off work and busy baking 😂😂

I need to up my water and get a handle on my fasting then I’ll be heading down again I think 👍

galacticpixels · 02/02/2022 09:55

Good morning. 1.4lb down since last Wednesday. I'm really happy with that! I was actually expecting to maintain because I went so off plan at the weekend, but I guess sticking to it the rest of the time and upping my activity helped. I'm just going to count it with my January loss, for ease.

Jan 2022 loss: 6.8lb
Total loss: 19.2lb

Zalen · 02/02/2022 10:17

Hi, 16st 13.8 this morning, down 0.4lb on yesterday and down 1.6lb from last Wednesday so good progress in the right direction.

Last night we had Gousto Classic Chilli Con Carne. We didn't have a supplied meal for last night, but instead of using that as an excuse to overeat like I did last Tuesday, I looked online for one of their recipes, stuck to the actual quantities for 2 people (even the cheese Shock and we all know the cheese is the best bit of any meal) so feeling like maybe I can make good choices if I put my mind to it.

If I can get food under control, the next step will be to get some exercise back into my life, but one thing at a time for now.

8stone13 · 02/02/2022 10:32

Morning all 🙂

Day 32 - Weds 2nd Feb - 9s 3 & 1/4lb
BMI 21.4
BF 23.9

Weight the same, slight reduction in body fat. I'm still up 1 & 1/4lb from my Jan low but enjoying healthier food, maintaining & am comfortable in my body, so that'll do me. My analyser scales tell me I'm a bit dehydrated, though I don't feel it. I'll up the water today.

Rewis · 02/02/2022 11:59

Start weight: 87.7kg
Last week: 86.7kg
Current weight: 87 kg
Goal weight: 80kg

I was kinda hoping to stay in the previous weight. I'm gonna see my bf over the weekend (thanks to covid. Its been impossible) and I'm gonna go eat in every restaurant that I've been missing. But maybe I'll attempt to not over eat.

SunshineCake1 · 02/02/2022 12:18

I'm the same as last WOW but at least it isn't up!

Went to Lidl and got a big box of fruit and veg for £1.50 so lots of goodness coming my way.

Well done @buzzofthebumblebee and I agree. Having wine always makes me want crisps. I've only drunk once in more than five months. Not bothered about alcohol really and I won't have any now until my birthday and only then as still have Christmas booze left.

Well done @BG2015 on joining the gym and keeping up the walking.

. Hope it sticks for you too.

Excellent meal achievement @Zalen.

Good stuff @swampytiggaa and @galacticpixels.

@8stone13 time for some water 💦.

Have what you want @Rewis just make sure it is tasty and worth it if you stay the same.

campingqueen121 · 02/02/2022 12:30

Well done everyone, on the losses and the maintenance and all the good efforts.

I'm 1.6lb down on last Wednesday. That was up a bit on the week before due to my period though.

Excited at what Feb brings, would love love love to get under 126 by 28th, only 1.4lb to get there so should definitely be achievable if I keep up the healthy eating and exercise regime.

On that note I'm off out on my walk /run, to be followed by a work out.

ImALittlePea · 02/02/2022 12:48

Well done everyone on results (so far) this week!

Today my lunch was a thin bagel with marmite
Dinner is a veggie bean chilli with rice

Tummy is currently sounding like an orchestra so I'm going to need to snack (even though we're eating early with the kids). Veg sticks and houmous will do, hopefully!

Need to up the water intake too! Although I keep wondering why this actually helps with weight loss/body size. Anyone got any insight on this?

RebeccaNoodles · 02/02/2022 13:17

Well done all you've done amazingly and this has given me a much needed nudge, I haven't been consistent enough.

@ImALittlePea re water, i definitely mistake thirst for hunger so it helps me avoid snacking. And sparkling water can feel like a 'treat' Grin to me. Might be different for you though, if you don't love water maybe green/herbal tea?

Today's menu for accountability

1 slice toast, 1 scrambled egg with peppers

Chicken and veg broth, mini whole meal pitta

Dinner: home made bean stew with roast cauliflower and spinach.

Snacks/drinks: 1 flat white, 1 home made protein drink (almond milk with a scoop vanilla protein powder Smile)

Youdoyoutoday · 02/02/2022 13:34

Howdy all!!

Well done on the weight losses, those that remained the same (it's still a win!) and for all the non scales victories!!

I'm not getting on the scales because I'm having visions of them exploding beneath my feet!!

Bootcamp done this morning, even upped my game a tad and tried harder things, thought I should after Mondays shamble of an attempt!

DP is out tonight so a nice early night for me tonight after wrestling the kids in to bed.

Been out today with the DD and we had lunch out, I had an egg mayo sandwich and coffee with no crisps so will have a light dinner with lots of veg tonight.

I should be doing chores (as bloody always) but I'm more tempted to have a wobble on my balance board instead!

Toodles ❤

ImALittlePea · 02/02/2022 13:42

@RebeccaNoodles yes makes sense as an appetite suppressant/being thirsty instead of hungry. I just wondered whether there was also something more to it.

I love water/sparkling water but forget to drink enough. If I'm thirsty I tend to switch the kettle on for a cuppa, eep! I know I need to lower my tea intake, I used to drink herbal teas but I've not enjoyed them since my first pregnancy. Maybe worth trying again.

Crazzzycat · 02/02/2022 13:51

@ImALittlePea, sorry it’s another article I’m sharing, but this might help answer your question about water and weightloss:

www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/322296#six-reasons-why-drinking-water-may-help-you-lose-weight

Well done on those losses everyone. I forgot to weigh this morning...possibly deliberate as I ate a lot of chocolate yesterday 😬

Allotment123 · 02/02/2022 14:10

Hello, didn't have a good week, lost motivation, regained 3/4 of a pound. But overall lighter than December and haven't given up. Went for a cycle ride today in my lunch hour, struggling to cut out the snacks

8stone13 · 02/02/2022 14:42

I've just eaten quite a bit of chocolate, probably around 400 calorie's worth (though you don't need much chocolate to get to that point I've discovered!) It's the first I've had in some while & I really enjoyed it. Much more than normally. Got to a point & felt I'd had enough. That's a major development for me. I'm no longer stuffing it until it's all gone, I'm enjoying it, finding myself sated & feeling happy to stop.

For a genuine chocoholic this is progress indeed.

TheRealHousewife · 02/02/2022 18:54

Evening All

Weekly WOW - loss of 1.6lbs. < Uses @SunshineCake1 glue 😬

Some great losses being posted 👍👏🏅

I had a menu change for meal 2 today - Mushroom, pea & green bean carbonara. Worth every cal (within daily limit) Will be chugging water tonight to help flush it through 😬

Hello all,
I'm happy to be here and much in need of support. I've been out of action for most of the last year following a back injury and surgery. I've gained about a stone and a half due to having to lie prone for several months. I'm just now getting back to full mobility and getting to the gym for some gentle exercise.
Looking forward to sharing stories and positive thinking x
