Glad you’re starting to feel better MrsH I agree, at least you’re not putting any weight back on.
Weds what have you followed in the past that seemed different? If it’s not working, then try something else, just don’t give up! I know what you mean about treats, but I think the trick is to really limit them, so don’t go mad at the weekend and have 2500 cals, because it will really affect your weekly average. I try and really save my treats for things I enjoy, but just one pudding, or one bar of chocolate, not a whole day or whole weekend of treats. I’m sort of learning to be satisfied with smaller treats too. So the other week my DH had a stuffed crust pepperoni pizza, and I had one slice (so an 1/8th of the pizza) and I really enjoyed it, but had a salad with it. The calories on the box were insane, but I honestly felt satisfied with the one slice, because I didn’t feel like I’d missed out. But if I’d eaten half the pizza, I’d have felt bloated, had too many carbs etc.
It does need to be sustainable, you’re right. We know how easily the scales can shift back upwards. Honestly I’m at a point where I can see myself carrying on with everything I’m doing. I’ve got so much more energy, I’m enjoying finding new recipes, new ingredients, cooking from scratch more. I don’t feel deprived of anything. I enjoy my lunches, but if you feel like you’re eating rabbit food, you’re not going to carry on.
My go-to after the gym is a coffee, then Greek or natural bio yoghurt with berries and granola, usually adding flax and chia seeds. I know I keep banging on about it, but it’s so tasty and filling, and so good for you! That honestly fills me up until around 3pm, then I have a green tea. Then I look forward to dinner, which can almost be whatever I want, because I’ve got loads of calories left in my 1200. Yesterday I tried a new dish and it was so nice, I’ll definitely make it again, and it was around 500 cals. But I’m learning so much about what foods are healthiest, I think it was the first time I’d ever had quinoa but I’ll definitely look up more recipes.
What’s a typical day’s food for you now? Maybe we can help reset.
