Accountability - three stone needs to go

Mellowyellow222 · 01/01/2022 19:49

Stood on the scales today - I have gained three stone since 2019. None of my clothes fit and I feel really unfit - can’t even touch my toes!

So today is day one. I have walked 17,000 steps and eaten 1500 calories. No booze and no chocolate.

History of ED so need to be sensible.

Goal is to eat less and walk every day. Treadmill ordered.

ending the day on 1200 so getting back on track! How’s everyone’s Monday been?

Mellowyellow222 · 10/01/2022 21:17

I just finished a 30min brisk walk in the treadmill. 1,250 calories. Good day.

Lovely chicken and noodle stir fry for dinner - bulked out with lots of veg.

I am now down 5lbs which is a good start. I reckon at about 10lbs down I will start to notice a difference in my clothes - and my face - maybe.

@Mellowyellow222 Well done, you are being so consistent!!!
I thought the same, hoping after 10lbs that I will notice a difference too.

GreenWhiteViolet · 10/01/2022 21:29

That's a great start! Unfortunately I dipped into the leftover Christmas chocolate the other day, because the day before my period I always want to eat all the sweet and/or carby things I can find. Fortunately, I only ate a little and stuck to my calorie target for that day. I've been doing well otherwise!

Starting weight: 152lbs
Current weight: 147.8lbs
Target weight: 120lbs

I feel the pain of the previous poster over coats. I reached my goal weight in December 2019 and bought a nice new coat for my slimmer self. Then Covid happened, the gym shut, and all the weight went back on Sad I've been making do with shawls and big cardigans this year and hopefully I'll fit back into my coat next winter!

Stargazer89 · 11/01/2022 18:56

finishing day on 1252 calories! struggling with the exercise side of it!!
How’s everyone done today? I am trying to claw back some of the extra calories consumed over weekend lol

Mellowyellow222 · 11/01/2022 19:20

Hello stargazer. Very similar - as usual.

Finished eating at 1259 calories. Barely moved from my computer since 7am and still here in fact.

Finishing a report than hope I will have enough energy to jump in treadmill

OP posts:
Mellowyellow222 · 12/01/2022 19:01

Finishing today on 1204 calories

Lots of fruit and vegetables - lovey salad with prawns for lunch. Salmon and golden veg rice for tea and lots of snacks. Have a mini milk ice cream now for desert!

I had forgotten how easy it is when you shop for healthy food and never go out!

January is easy because very little socialising. Will get harder next month

@Mellowyellow222 you are smashing it!!
I am finishing up just shy of 1500 and that’s all made up of snacking, I need to meal prep because I haven’t had a decent meal at all today.

liliainterfrutices · 12/01/2022 20:45

Lost 10 pounds since New Year, so quite pleased with that. Your food today sounds yummy mellow.

liliainterfrutices · 12/01/2022 20:46

I think I’ve nearly lost my double chin . . .

Mellowyellow222 · 12/01/2022 21:10

Thank you @Stargazer89

@liliainterfrutices I live it when you can notice a difference.

I have only lost 5lbs so far- but I was able to wear a top today that was just a little too tight before. Onto very small difference but a start

OP posts:
liliainterfrutices · 12/01/2022 22:26

mellow clothes are a very tangible difference. I am quite possibly just imagining the double chin going. Well done you!

Mellowyellow222 · 13/01/2022 19:27

Another day done, but scales still not moving!!

Going to stay steady at 1200 calories a day and hopefully they will move so1195 calories today - lovely chicken and vegetable soup for lunch and a salmon omelet for dinner. Veggies and fruit for snacks and other a couple of caramel rice cakes thrown in for my sweet tooth.

You really are being so good and you deserve a decent loss. I have had a better day today and ending up on 1200 calories. I am in the week before my period is due and I always bloat and get really hungry in the run up, so that’s happening now and not expecting much loss if anything on saturday. But hopefully not gained lol! x

CrunchieForMe · 13/01/2022 20:11

I’m ending the day on around 1400, I can’t do 1200 I’m too miserable so gates off to those who are managing that. Hoping the scales have some happy news on Saturday so I can enjoy my afternoon tea later in the day.

TaggieWeightLoss · 14/01/2022 05:58

Sounds like everyone is doing so well!
@Mellowyellow222 - Fingers crossed you soon see the loss you deserve!
@Stargazer89 - I get bloated just before my period too (mine’s just finished). My loss slowed down but I didn’t actually gain. However, Without chocolate and toast, I had nasty pmt (poor Dh).
@liliainterfrutices - yay for single chins!

I have been pretty good on calories. I find the noom programme, with its emphasis on behaviour change, really helpful. I start a 12-week nhs weight loss program on Monday as well. Weekly group sessions with a dietician, plus having to report my weight and waist measurement weekly. I hope that between that, noom and this thread I have enough accountability to reach my goal weight by late spring!

I’m starting to see some results: looser clothes and I can walk downstairs in a normal way without my knees giving out. I am feeling a bit deprived though. I’m lecturing this morning and will miss my post lecture chocolate bar 😢

AhThisAgain · 14/01/2022 10:30

Hello all, I've gone from 13st 8 to 13st 3 since the new year which I'm pretty happy with. Eating about 1,300cals a day on average.

It's not been too hard but the last couple of days I've been feeling a bit... Bored of it I guess. I fancy going down to the kitchen and eating lots of snacks and then making a big bowl of cheesy pasta for lunch.

I am a bit hungry but it's mainly emotional, probably. Any advice welcome, I don't want to undo all my good work.

AhThisAgain · 14/01/2022 10:32

I think my brain is going - hold on, I've been sticking to this for AGES (2 weeks). Surely I should be thin by now?!

TaggieWeightLoss · 14/01/2022 19:22

@AhThisAgain - I’m with you on the motivation front! I’m sticking to my calorie budget and losing weight, but I just want to eat all the toast in the universe and pass out in a carb induced coma.

Noom says to give in to temptation in a small and controlled way (I’m not convinced!). So I think that I will have a small pain au chocolat tomorrow morning instead of my usual poached eggs and see if that helps! Same calories but no protein.

Mellowyellow222 · 14/01/2022 19:26

Finishing today on 1,100 which is lower than my usual but I’m not very hungry today.

Big weigh in tomorrow and really hope I will have lost some weight this week!

I had gained 11lb since June. Started Monday lost 2lb this week! Meals I've kept same as fairly healthy. Just cut out sweets and chocolate, no snacks in evenings as I'm doing 15 hour fast and I'm doing dry January. Hoping to lose a stone for summer.

notyouagainn · 15/01/2022 07:26

@Stargazer89

Morning! Just thought i’d post on here to try and keep me on track for the day! I am going to try and do the 16:8 fasting so not eating until after 11am. Slept horrendously with my DD keeping me up most of the night so I would usually grab a biscuit or two. What’s everyone else doing to have a positive day?
I'm fasting but can't bear not to eat in a morning so fasting 5pm-8am just means having tea at 430.
notyouagainn · 15/01/2022 07:28

@CrunchieForMe

My struggle is always breakfast. So those of you who aren’t fasting, what are your go to breakfasts when you are trying to lose weight?
Porridge for me, I prep it night before - oats, raspberry, blueberry, almonds, chia seeds and a spoon of honey. It's lovely and filling.
notyouagainn · 15/01/2022 07:31

Saturday weigh in -
Start weight 11.13
Current weight 11.11

Hoping to get back to 10.5 so my size 12's fit me😊
