Accountability - three stone needs to go

Mellowyellow222 · 01/01/2022 19:49

Stood on the scales today - I have gained three stone since 2019. None of my clothes fit and I feel really unfit - can’t even touch my toes!

So today is day one. I have walked 17,000 steps and eaten 1500 calories. No booze and no chocolate.

History of ED so need to be sensible.

Goal is to eat less and walk every day. Treadmill ordered.

I am a month late to this party but weighed myself and am the heaviest l have ever been.
So l downloaded the NHS weightloss app today and instead of going for a slap up lunch with my friend tomorrow as we always do, we are going for a long but brisk walk and then for a smaller lunch with no cake or dessert.
Need to do this.

Silversprinkles · 31/01/2022 22:32

I had some bad news yesterday which meant I fell Face first into a hot chocolate and some garlic bread Hmm but back on it today with more sensible choices. Porridge for breakfast, soup and cold meat/cheese for lunch and a bowl of home made chilli for tea (just the meat/sauce part, DH and DS had theirs on a baked potato as well).

I'm going to check my weight tomorrow morning for any damage and go for a very long walk hopefully.

Silversprinkles · 31/01/2022 22:32

Welcome @Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin that sounds like a good start Smile

Silversprinkles · 01/02/2022 13:55

So my scales told me I have gone back up 3lbs after my Sunday lapse Hmmam hoping it's mostly temporary water weight from carb inflammation and it will go down again soon.

Been for a long walk with the dog and planning a swim this evening.

liliainterfrutices · 01/02/2022 18:52

My scales can fluctuate by up to 5lbs in a daysilver. Use other gauges, like fitting into clothes you couldn’t wear before, maybe.

TaggieWeightLoss · 01/02/2022 18:54

Sorry to hear about the bad news. Sometimes the diet just needs to take a back seat.

My weight can vary by that much with or without little lapses! I’m sure you will quickly be back on track. Well done for the swim and walk. I enjoyed my walk today a lot. First snow drops I’ve seen this year.

Jeds55 · 02/02/2022 04:41

Welcome back @BugBeingBold that's great loss already for Jan
Welcome @Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin hope the walk was good and you enjoyed time with your friend
@Silversprinkles as others have said the diet has to take a back seat sometimes. Hope everything is OK

Jeds55 · 02/02/2022 04:45

Weighed on Monday
Start weight: 14 st 7
Current : 13 St 6.2
Very happy with that for Jan but know it'll get harder as the weight comes off. Unless I go crazy this week I'll have met my first target of a stone off by dp bday weekend. I'm having 3 days off the diet over weekend and Tues so this week all about damage limitation whilst enjoying myself too. Next target is to get to overweight bmi (12 St 7) by dd1 bday.

Jeds55 · 02/02/2022 04:49

@Mellowyellow222 I read somewhere that 10lbs was the magic number where others start to notice your weight loss. Great that clothes are fitting better, it's such a good indicator. I'm still in stretchy maternity leggings but definitely feel the larger sizes and my biggest knickers getting baggier.

Silversprinkles · 02/02/2022 09:35

Thank you all for your kindness.

Sadly Jes the last time I got majorly in shape (in my 30's Confused I'm now in my 50's) it was almost 2 stone loss before anyone (except DH who obviously saw me nekkid) commented! I'm tall and have been told I "carry it well" but still!! 😄

Mellowyellow222 · 02/02/2022 22:18

I have just nipped on to share my horror.

Was feeling pretty good about my foot intake today - busy work day and had a run of tomato soup for lunch. Don’t have it often. Really tasty.

Nearly 20g of sugar!! In one tin of soup - only 204 calories but so much sugar! I now understand why they do a low sugar version!

@Mellowyellow222 😱 no wonder I like tinned soup so much!

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 03/02/2022 19:53

Had a really good week food wise although only been 4 days!
Been on it exercise wise and not had one treat all week.
Big box of chocs in the canteen at work which l would usually pick at all week but have just ignored it.
Hope l lose a pound or two!

Mellowyellow222 · 03/02/2022 21:18

I am below 12st🎉

11st 13.5 to be precise but it was lovely to see the 11!

Lots of mini goals still to go. But I really want to be under 11 stone by Easter.

liliainterfrutices · 03/02/2022 22:23

Ooh -exciting moment when the scales change the stones! Well done mellow

TaggieWeightLoss · 04/02/2022 11:52

Yay for @Mellowyellow222!

Jeds55 · 04/02/2022 19:28

Well done on avoiding the chocolates
@Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin hope the hard work pays off on the scales

Jeds55 · 04/02/2022 19:30

@Mellowyellow222 woop, great feeling to move into the next number on the way down

Jeds55 · 04/02/2022 19:32

I'm weighing tnrw rather than Mon as having a weekend off. Hoping if I see a good number on the scales it'll make me less likely to go completely crazy with the food...

Mellowyellow222 · 05/02/2022 07:59

I had another mini milestone yesterday - my coat zipped!!

Had I not started this diet I would have needed to bite the bullet and buy a size 16 winter coat.

I am not back into all my size 14 clothes yet (and my size 12s are just a dream), but I am getting there Smile

TaggieWeightLoss · 05/02/2022 10:53

Good result this week!

Start weight on 7/12/2021: 14 stone 12
Current weight: 13 stone 0
Goal weight: 11 stone 5

1 stone 12 lbs lost (4 lbs this week); 1 stone 9 lbs to go

Although I have a way to go, I’m definitely feeling slimmer and more confident. DS2 took a photo of me sleeping on the sofa (he was actually photographing the cat!), and my double chin was maybe a bit less obvious, although hard to be sure.

Well done to @Mellowyellow222 for a great result and to @CrunchieForMe and @Stargazer89 for braving the scales.

TaggieWeightLoss · 05/02/2022 10:55

@Mellowyellow222. Lovely milestone! I am too scared to try on my favourite coat. I’ll wait a few more weeks, I think

CrunchieForMe · 05/02/2022 11:04

I think you tagged me accidentally but I have braved the scales…. I’ve lost 7lb since the new year. Slow and steady!

TaggieWeightLoss · 05/02/2022 11:29

Oh - sorry! My messages got confused. Well done on the loss!
