@Bjarnum I will definitely join you in a superhuman effort next week. I think we should post daily and encourage each other.

From 4 o’clock today until gone 10 tonight I’ve been searching for a watch for DP for Christmas. I only decided at 4 o’clock that that’s what I was going to buy him and I finally ordered it at 10. I am telling you this because the stress it caused made me eat, a lot! I might hide the scales tomorrow morning.

poorpaws · 25/10/2021 08:32

Here we are again, it’s Monday weigh in, they certainly come round quickly.

SW: 12st 2.3/4
Mini goal: 11st
CW: 11st 2.3/4
TW: 10st

When I made my second mini goal target (since I failed the first one) i made it so low it was impossible to fail 🥴 but I managed it easily. This week I’ve lost 1.3/4 lbs which honestly I don’t deserve and it’s only because I had such a massive gain last week.

So it’s less than 9 weeks to Christmas and another mini goal to plan. (25 weeks to Easter when my weight SHOULD all be gone, ha!)
And less than 3 weeks to my birthday which I really don’t want to celebrate but no doubt there will be chocolates and meals out.

As @Bjarnum
Said we could do with a superhuman effort this week. I’d like to see 11st on those scales but any loss would be appreciated 😀

So next mini goal in 8 weeks which takes us to 20 December I’d like to be 10st 12 lbs and this time I’d like to do it!

Good luck with your weigh-in everyone.

OMG I am so sick of seeing this weight on the scales. Still it could be worse. I am hosting a Halloween party tomorrow - the snug has been decorated by my eldest and looks amazing. Son-in-law is doing the cocktails (one of his many gifts). Congrats to everyone hanging in there - perseverance will pay off in the end .... hopefully.

CreepingDeath · 25/10/2021 11:41

Sorry I weighed in earlier but forgot to post as I had a really busy morning.

I'm back down to 141.8lbs, so generally maintaining I guess. I was much more active this week walking everywhere, but only managed 1 workout (half-assed). My food wasn't great but not terrible either.

The weather here has gone cold but thankfully not so rainy yet, which means I'm starting to hibernate, which I love, but won't be good for my activity levels. Lots of hot chocolate and movies.

Well done poorpaws on your second mini goal achievement.

@jb7445 welcome, nice to have you join our little group. Ooh do get another dog, they are the best things in the entire world, I couldnt live without one/three.

@Bjarnum I totally get you about being sick of the weight on the scales. I’ve been trying to get into the 10 stone bracket for months and just can’t get there.

Your dogs are living the dream, running free. I love to see happy dogs enjoying their freedom. You have a lovely pack.

So how has day 1 of your superhuman effort gone? I did an extra dog walk tonight (it was very dark at the end of it) so I’ve done 18,600 steps; that feels superhuman. I’ve done well with food too, although the night is still young,

@CreepingDeath maintaining is good, you are doing very well.

Anyone joining me for a mini goal on 20 December? Surely I can be in the 10 st bracket by then 🤦‍♀️

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl where are you on weigh day? Please don’t tell me you’ve given up.

I hope everyone has a really good week and we see some good losses next Monday, 2 lbs each would be lovely 😀

Bjarnum · 25/10/2021 23:09

paws Well done you - I do hope you managed to hang on through the evening! You put me to shame with the steps - I only achieved half of that but I did do shed loads of gardening; made a sporting attempt at clipping the dog (although we live with 3 dogs Freya is "mine") and packed a plastic glove with sausage (Halloween) AND (here comes the superhuman bit) stuck to 1200 calories. A party here tomorrow so will have to be very strong ... Keep going!

poorpaws · 26/10/2021 08:27

@Bjarnum

Here is my update for my first day yesterday of our week of torture. Total calories for the day: 1,323
Total steps for the day: 19,057

If I can keep something like that up all week I will be delighted.
I hope you’re doing well and try not to give in today at your party (that will be very difficult I assume).

I hope everyone is okay and putting in a lot of effort for next Monday’s weigh-in. Sending out positive vibes to everyone.

poorpaws · 26/10/2021 08:30

Oops I’ve got calories for the day wrong, it should be 1,232

Hi everyone, bad day on the scales yesterday but I knew it was coming!

SW 12.2
CW 11.12

Paws I’ll join you in the mini goal by 20th Dec aiming for 11 st. I did about 17k steps yesterday but that’s a miracle!

I cannot be bothered to count calories at all. I know it’s important and I know I should but 😑

Love those dogs running wild and free, it gives me so much happiness when I can let mine off the lead 😊

Bjarnum · 26/10/2021 21:05

OK - today had some issues viz party , however, I saved 1000 in preparation and was pretty restrained (for me) so I think we can count this a win! Not so great in the exercise department - I spent most of the day with my baby grandson. It was too wet to take him out so lots of sitting around. I have excused myself from the family meal tomorrow. paws how has today gone?

poorpaws · 26/10/2021 22:00

@Bjarnum
You are doing very well.

I only had 13,143 steps today but my watch was on charge for about an hour whilst I cleaned the kitchen so I think it was quite a lot more than that. I’ve had about 12,000 calories, I can’t remember the exact figure but it’s not far off that so I think it’s been a pretty good day.

@onemorerose
So pleased you are joining me in the mini Goal, I was beginning to think I was going to have to do it all by myself. You’ve chosen quite a strict goal though so good for you.

@jb7445 it’s so much easier when both of you give up anything and you can help each other out. I hardly drink at all now (I used to drink a lot 😁) so that isn’t a problem for me. Chocolate, crisps, ice cream however I can eat all day long and never feel sick as some people tell me I should and I never tire of them. I’m trying desperately hard to break the habit. It’s not easy!

I hope everyone is doing well. We could do with a really good weigh in result for everybody.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 26/10/2021 22:13

Loving the doggy photo @Bjarnum! And lovely, a little baby to snuggle. My DC are too old and squabbly to snuggle much now Sad

I'll join @onemorerose and @jb7445 in setting a mini goal, once I've thought of one Grin

Well done on maintaining @CreepingDeath! I didn't weigh in @poorpaws as I'm right in the middle of a hideous AF and frankly just couldn't face it, but well done on braving yours Halo

My steps are generally over 10K, some days better than others - I'm taking the DC out on a Halloween walk tomorrow so that should get my step count up a bit - we went to do a bit of shopping on Saturday and even going round the shopping centre gave me a few thousand steps. Although I probably undid my good work by buying some posh chocolates and scoffing the lot Blush they were very yummy though, I would definitely possibly sell the DC for some more...

Gosh I'm exhausted, everyone... work is soooo busy, the house is still a tip, DP is still a lazy arse and DS2 is being rude and horrible 95% of the time Sad he's only 6, I dread the teenage years!! I'm trying to plough my way through Atomic Habits and see if I can take out any game-changing points, I just feel like I'm losing all the fitness and healthy habits I worked hard for and don't know how to start my routines again. Aaarrrggghhhh.

Apparently the 1st of the month is a psychologically a great day to start a new routine (it feels like a clean slate), if poorpaws could bring the wagon round on Monday that would give me 8 weeks to shed some pounds before Christmas...!

poorpaws · 26/10/2021 23:15

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl nice to have you back, I really hoped you hadn’t given up. You sound totally exhausted and I wish I had a magic wand for you.

It’s quite strange but I love it when the 1st of a new month falls on a Monday, as it feels neat and right (I should definitely get out more).

Right Clara I’ll get the wagon ready for early on Monday morning and we’ll make a huge dent in our weight target by Christmas 😀 I hope your life takes a turn for the better very soon. I could do with some help from the elves and pixies in my home too.

OP posts:
Bjarnum · 27/10/2021 10:46

paws Two days under our belts! And going for three ...Glad you are still with us clara hope you get better soon.
My OH is supportive too, @jb7445 - so I really should be doing better.rose glad to see you have fresh determination - would love to see pics of your dogs . And everyone else's too for that matter. Photos of loved dogs warm my heart
My eldest son is passing out on Sunday so we are off to Dartmouth next weekend to cheer him on. He is to be a doctor in the naval reserve part time and a consultant in Brum for the balance.@death I'd settle for maintaining .. it's putting the damn stuff back on that depresses me - well done

poorpaws · 27/10/2021 19:43

@Bjarnum glad it’s going well for you, keep up the good work.

My steps are getting less daily, only 11,500 today, I expected more. I’ve spent all afternoon making a cake and from the look of it I’m not impressed. DP has taken two slices and is texting me later to let me know if it’s edible. I made it especially for my dog walking friend tomorrow and it may not be fit to give away.

My food has been pretty good today but I am hungry now so I’ll have to find something with only a few calories for supper.

Ooh @bjarnum you are coming to my neck of the woods. I don’t live in Dartmouth (I wish) but once over the ferry I’m not too far away. I hope you have a lovely weekend, you must be so proud.

Keep trying everyone, that’s all we can do.

OP posts:
poorpaws · 27/10/2021 19:47

PS. Just had a text from DP, he says the cake is excellent. I’m not sure I believe him (he’s not prone to telling lies), it most certainly doesn’t look it. What a surprise!

paws They look so loving - and loved! Sometimes the tastiest food is not the "showroom" variety - I'm sure the cake you made for your friend tastes marvellous. So far today is going well - just need to hang on till bedtime. Middle son and wife coming tomorrow (it's all go here. We don't see anyone for ages and then the lot turn up in the same week) . I'm trying to "save" some calories each day so I can go to a restaurant on Sunday. And so the wagon rumbles on to Thursday ...
