I wrote a long post this morning and promptly lost it.

Here we go again. I’m sorry I’ve been a bit absent this week but I’ve been very busy doing a deep clean on my lounge and throwing stuff out (a desk and chair of DDs and a huge treadmill that no longer works). When I walk into the lounge now I think I’ve got the wrong house because it’s neat and tidy but sadly it makes the rest of the place look grim. Anyway I’ve been really busy and I’ve started on another room now.

@MrsWidgerysLodger oh no, Norovirus, I hope you are feeling much better now and more like your old self.

@gonelululemoncrazy I hope all your work difficulties are getting sorted, it’s hard when colleagues are being difficult for no reason.

@suzyscat I just daren't buy any Easter eggs because I will eat the lot so I’ve decided to try not to buy any until the week before Easter. Good plan if I can stick to it but that is doubtful.

@Bjarnum I hope Freya is on the mend and has forgiven you, I can’t bear it when my dogs are ill, I’d rather feel rotten myself because they can’t really tell you anything although as you say the eyes say a lot.

Siblings falling out is all you need at the moment. It’s much easier for me, I just have the one DD so she has no one to fall out with but me. I do hope your SIL is at the very least comfortable. It’s difficult to know what to say in these circumstances but I hope you are coping and no wonder you can’t diet, it would be too much for anyone.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl well done on avoiding the Easter eggs. I hope you’re doing well.

I’ve done pretty well this week (as long as I don’t blow it this evening). I’ve done plenty of dog walking, cleaning and my food has been very good too. I’m looking for a big loss tomorrow towards my 10 week plan.

I hope you are all doing well and as far as the diet goes doing the best you can. I’ll be weighing in in the morning so I will be back.

Good luck if you are weighing tomorrow.

OP posts:
suzyscat · 27/02/2022 21:13

I weighed in today and have lost 1lb hooray!

Still had a treaty day but have done lots of exercise too. Definitely been a bit better and know if I get going I can drop the other 9 in 4 weeks. It's just whether I will get going or not.

Pancake day on Tuesday too! I'm not Christian but went to a
church school and would observe Lent so that can be my inspiration for now.

Good luck tomorrow.

poorpaws · 27/02/2022 21:30

@suzyscat very well done on your pound off. It’s not easy to stay on track for any length of time. I use Happy Scales and the graph of my weight loss/gain is up and down like a yo-yo. We just have to keep trying and this thread has certainly helped me. If I hadn’t been ill for all those weeks when I just couldn’t diet I’d have been a lot nearer my goal now. Just got to keep on...

SW: 12sts 2.75
CW: 11sts. O.5
GW: 10sts

I’m very pleased to say it’s 3 lbs off this week. I tried extra hard and sometimes it was difficult (like when I made sultana scones and then cheese scones for everyone else) but it's paid off and I’m getting nearer to my pre-illness weight (10sts 10). If only I could do this again next week but sadly I know I won’t.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi guys,

SW 12st 8lb
CW 12st 1lb
TW 11st

A 5lb loss this week but I'm not really counting it as I was so poorly. Thank you to all of those that sent well wishes etc.

Bjarnum, I'm sorry you seem to have so much landing on you at the moment. :( Here's hoping it can only get better. Lululemon, your work situ sounds very stressful, hope you get it sorted soon.
Hope Paws and the rest of the crew are all doing okay (and apologies of I've missed anyone!)

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 28/02/2022 12:22

Well done to today's 'losers' 👏

I haven't had time to get on the scales yet, such a flat out day and will be till at least 7pm. Sigh. Feeling really tearful too (AF due tomorrow!). I'm hoping I can make a big effort for Lent and get back into a positive mindset!

poorpaws · 01/03/2022 16:14

It’s so wet, cold and miserable here. I got drenched to the skin on the dog walk. I’m hungry and grumpy and tonight I have to do the food shop in the rain and the dark when all I want to do is stay at home in the warmth and eat A LOT of chocolate. A day like this is no time to diet. 😡

OP posts:
MrsWidgerysLodger · 01/03/2022 17:25

How you feeling today Clara? Less teary I hope?

Paws I completely agree! Manky, cold wet weather is red wine and chocolate weather. Hope you're doing okay other than drenched!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 01/03/2022 23:39

@poorpaws miserable day here too! So, so dreary. I really felt like ordering a massive takeaway and curling up on the sofa for hours but didn't although I did eat three pancakes

Still really tearful @MrsWidgerysLodger (but thank you for asking!) - everything just seems such hard work at the moment, such an uphill struggle. I have zero time to meal plan/ prep/ cook and no time/ energy to exercise, and really no plan how to solve either dilemma! Up at 6.30am with the DC, take them to school, back for 9am, work till 3pm (and it's really busy), then after that I'm collecting the DC and taking them to various activities. By the time they've had dinner and gone to bed it's always after 9pm and I'm exhausted! Hope everyone else is having a better day?!

poorpaws · 02/03/2022 08:26

Oh no yet another day of rain here! Two out of three dogs hate the rain and I dragged them out yesterday so not sure it’s fair to take them out in it again today. My problem is, it’s the dog walk that get me my daily 10,000 steps so if I don’t go I’ll be cross this evening that my step count is low. I want to make a fruit cake (or two) for Easter so I suppose I could do that this morning ☹️

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I am so sorry you are really down. I don’t know what to suggest other than you get a bit of help (DP 🥴?). I wonder if you could take it in turns with another parent
to fetch the kids every other day, that might give you an hours peace and the other parent would get a bit of downtime when you fetched their children. Quick and easy meals, not so much cleaning (I’m up for both of those two), other than that I’m lost for ideas.

@Bjarnum how is Freya doing? I hope she’s better now.

@MrsWidgerysLodger I hope the weather is a bit better where you are. It dampens the spirit/mood as well as everything else when it pours all day long.

I hope everyone is doing ok and still running after the wagon.

OP posts:
ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 03/03/2022 00:06

Did you take the doggies out in the end @poorpaws? Relentless rain here all day Confused I hope Freya is improving too, @Bjarnum?

I'm just a bit down, I think, as I seem to be stuck in a neverending cycle of eating too much and having no motivation to get out of it... DP got very snappy the other day saying he wants to lose weight and I make him 'the wrong' meals Hmm I said fine, tell me what you DO want to eat rather than moaning about what you DON'T want to eat, and come up with some recipes... silence. He also moans and groans when we go out for walks as he can't keep up and says we go too quickly for him - but I don't know how he expects to improve if he won't go at all?!

So yes, bit of a bleak outlook here at the moment, I'm hoping to put a stop to all the feeling sorry for myself soon!

poorpaws · 04/03/2022 15:01

Well this should help but I don’t recommend it. I’ve been up all night with sickness and diarrhoea, headache et cetera. I’ve slept all day and have only just got up. Dog walk is definitely off and I can’t face food. This has come out of nowhere, I went to bed quite normally and after a couple of hours started with all this. I am pig sick of it because I’ve only just got over a nearly 8 week illness. ☹️

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I feel so sorry that you are so low at the moment but the only person who can really help you is you. I hope you claw your way back to some normality very soon. (To answer your question, yes I did take the dogs out next day and got drenched again).

I hope everyone is doing ok.

@Bjarnum how is Freya? 🤞🏻

OP posts:
ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 06/03/2022 22:36

I do hope you're feeling better @poorpaws and the dreaded lurgy hasn't struck again? Sad

I'm just exhausted really - if I ever get a bit of time to 'myself' then I have to spend it prepping/ cooking etc as otherwise there isn't a minute to do it. I'd love to be one of those people who's bursting with energy all the time but sadly not yet!

Sending best wishes for Freya as well @Bjarnum Flowers

poorpaws · 07/03/2022 08:38

SW: 12sts 2.75
CW: 10sts 12.75
GW: 10sts. Getting closer to goal, sadly not close enough

1.75 lbs off this week which isn’t too bad as I had a good loss last week and it’s usually pretty poor the week after a good loss.

2.75 lbs to go for my Easter 10 lbs in 10 weeks which sounds very doable in 6 weeks but I’ve been here before and fallen at the last fence.

How is everyone doing? I’m not sure what days everyone is weighing atm but whenever it is I hope you have all done well this week.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl thank you for your kind words, luckily it was a 24 hour bug so I was fine the next day. I really could do with a break from illness for a few months.

I suggest a few early nights for you, is that doable? I read recently that a small handful of almonds before going to bed aids sleep (as does oats or a banana). I go to bed really early now, read a bit of mumsnet and I have more energy.

I’m full on cleaning now. I did the lounge (which I never use) and have nearly finished the dog room (converted bedroom with 2 comfy chairs, tv and far too many dog beds). Kitchen next ☹️, this could take some time.

OP posts:
MrsWidgerysLodger · 08/03/2022 06:49

Morning lovelies, how are we all? Sounds like you're doing well Paws, despite having been so horribly poorly.
I'm sorry you're still struggling Clara. I really do feel for you. I feels like I'm either working, eating, sleeping or prepping for one of the above at the moment. Add in a firecracker of a 4 year old and it's knackering.
I've maintained this wee which I'm actually happy with. Most of my loss was from not eating due to Norovirus and then I've had pizza and a very decadent carrot cake this week so I was expecting a gain tbh. Haven't managed any exercise this week as I'm struggling for time to get it all in. I am still walking to work however so that's better than nothing.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 08/03/2022 23:49

I maintained this week too @MrsWidgerysLodger, which I was ok with considering it was AF week and I'd eaten a shedload of chocolate - hopefully I'll lose a pound or two next week, I went for a run yesterday and did a HIIT workout this morning.

(Same with the working/ prepping/ eating/ sleeping cycle, although I'd like to do more of the last!!)

How is the cleaning going @poorpaws? I'd actually got the house in a reasonable state but then it does take me one child-free day per week to maintain it, as they have an ability to make a horrendous mess within 5 minutes...

MrsWidgerysLodger · 09/03/2022 11:53

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl - Well done on maintaining, especially when it sounds like it's been a tough week!
Well done on the loss Paws! I really need to sort my house out. There's nothing disastrous (Other than the mountain of clean washing I need to sort and iron) but lots of little jobs that I never quite seem to have the time or energy to do. What I actually need is a childfree and husbandfree weekend to blitz the lot and almost just start over!
Hope things are okay with @Bjarnum, @suzyscat and anyone else I've forgotten.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 10/03/2022 23:17

@MrsWidgerysLodger I really need to spend a day sorting out the loft and another day on the garden... maybe once the weather gets a bit nicer, they're both freezing at the moment!

In particularly unexciting news, I have tidied out the fridge and freezer just think, if I had a social life I wouldn't have time for such indulgences! Anyhow, both are very tidy now and I'm planning some meal prep time at the weekend, making myself some decent soups and pasta sauces so I'm not so tempted to pick at rubbish rather than face making actual meals.

I'm also making plans for the Easter weekend to keep us busy - DP really needs to do more exercise, he's so unfit now it's worrying - and I'm on the lookout for any bike sales, having missed out on a lovely bike at Argos with 25% off

Hope everyone else is doing ok! @poorpaws @suzyscat @Bjarnum @gonelululemoncrazy

poorpaws · 12/03/2022 08:16

Hi everyone

I’m still cleaning, still on the kitchen cupboards, still trying to get this hovel clean 🥴

Food-wise I’ve been doing well but seeing no change on the scales. I’ve had a few good weight loss weeks so I guess I’ve reached the dreaded plateau where I lose nothing for about three weeks no matter how I try. Exercise-wise I’m doing ok, at least 12k steps a day and often 14 or15k, I just don’t have time or energy for any more. When the good weather arrives I will do an extra evening dog walk which I really enjoy and it stops me eating.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl. a day sorting the loft!! OMG id need a year at least to sort mine.

The garden, well I doubt mine will ever get finished although what DP has done already is amazing (a neighbour who I don’t really know stopped me yesterday to say she’d glimpsed my back garden walking past and it was beautiful). To see it finished though is a fantasy, it’s cost so much already and I’ve run out of cash.

No other news from Pawland really, life is quite dull and monotonous, everyday is dog walking, cleaning and trying not to eat too much, worrying about Ukraine, food prices, petrol prices, energy prices and covid (the latter is raging here in the south west and no word from Boris).

I hope you’re all doing well and have a lovely weekend everyone.

OP posts:
TalkToTheHand123 · 12/03/2022 08:27

I'm hoping to be fit enough soon to do some serious housework. Just have no motivation or energy at the moment.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 12/03/2022 22:22

I'm with you on the motivation @TalkToTheHand123 Grin but I had to find the energy from somewhere, the house becomes a tip so quickly! I'm trying to nag encourage the DC into helping but it's an uphill struggle...

DP has a health check at the GP this week, I'm hoping they can give him some tips on weight loss, or at least make him see that he needs to do some exercise!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 12/03/2022 22:44

PS having looked at the loft again @poorpaws I think I may have been overly optimistic with my estimate of a day to tidy it 😂

poorpaws · 14/03/2022 08:05

After five days of doing well both with food and exercise I blew it all at the weekend and have gained 3 lbs.

I really change with the weather and it was a terrible weekend here, windy and rainy and horrible so I just sat and ate! Now it’s going to take me ages to get rid of that extra weight and I’m furious with myself which isn’t very good for my already low mood.

I hope everyone is doing okay. Hopefully I’ll post in a few days saying I’ve lost some weight 🤞🏻

OP posts:
ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 14/03/2022 11:09

Sorry to hear you had a rubbish weekend @poorpaws Sad - oh for a reasonably sunny weekend, how lovely that would be! I'm sure you'll be feeling better once we can finally spend some nice time outside - DS2 has loads of gardening stuff to do with me (I'll be doing the tidying up!) but it just hasn't been warm enough to be outside for that long...

I lost 2lb this week! Disclaimer: last week was AF week so this probably isn't actually reflective of my weight loss efforts Confused

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 15/03/2022 09:47

It's a lovely day here @poorpaws, hope you have the same to lift your spirits!

Hope everyone else is doing ok too @TalkToTheHand123 @MrsWidgerysLodger @suzyscat @gonelululemoncrazy and of course @Bjarnum Smile
