OMG @Bjarnum I know exactly how you feel because I have been through it.

My Cavalier developed a lump which grew so big in a short time. She had an emergency operation because the lump had grown so fast and even the vet thought it was cancer, breast cancer in a dog! They said the end would be very quick. Turns out it was a fatty lump, fat weeping from a wound from her spaying which that very same surgery had performed seven years previously. She was 7.1/2 at the time and lived a very full and happy life until she was 12.1/2.

I’m thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for Freya and please don’t blame yourself. Hoping for the very best outcome.

Hello ladies, sorry my pronged absence but I walked away from all diet stuff whilst we had covid, and boy did that one drag on.

Finally was out and into the gym at the weekend only to find I'd gained every single pound I'd lost since I started, but at least no more than that.

Haven't eaten brilliantly this week. In fact I've eaten terribly especially today but I'm shattered. Did 25,000 steps at work yesterday and over 14,000 today. Just need to get back into the swing. Nearly half term too which is usually not short of tasty treats, but hopefully long walks and stuff too.

Bjarnum · 10/02/2022 21:43

I'm afraid I will be AWOL for a few weeks. My BIL died recently and now my SIL has only a short while to live and is in a hospice in London. The issue with Freya is still unresolved - it's all too much.

poorpaws · 10/02/2022 22:00

@Bjarnum oh no, I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. No wonder you are going AWOL at this time. Sending you a big hug and hoping for good news for you. Do come back when you are ready, our door will always be open to you.

@suzyscat nice to see you back. Would you like to join in our lose 10 lbs in 10 weeks challenge? It takes us to Easter Monday and we only started this Monday so you aren’t far behind. So pleased to hear you are stepping back onto the wagon. I gained about 10 lbs (or more 😠) during my 6 weeks illness and I’m not even back to full health yet. I’m struggling all the way but am worried about putting even more weight on hence the 10 week challenge to try to keep focused.

I hope everyone is doing ok, I really struggled this evening and hoping for a miracle on Monday’s weigh-in.

Just hopping on to send my very best wishes to @Bjarnum Flowers I'm so sorry for what you're going through - hope to hear from you again soon (diet related or otherwise!) and that there's good news about Freya xx

Covid is the theme of the week here too @suzyscat, the DC have several classmates down with it and they're full of symptoms (headache, occasional cough & temperature) but negative on LFTs every day Confused - I'm hoping they won't go down with it just time for half term...

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 13/02/2022 21:42

Hope everyone is ok @poorpaws @suzyscat @gonelululemoncrazy @MrsWidgerysLodger? (And special thoughts for @Bjarnum)

I have pulled my back and am hobbling around in agony. Ouch! Oh and am feeling like Humpty Dumpty after a weekend of (over)indulgence Blush

poorpaws · 14/02/2022 08:33

Good morning everyone

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl. Oh no, back pain is awful. I have a long term back problem (I fell out of the attic and slid across the bedroom floor on my back years ago). I hope it gets better soon, such awful pain (I see a chiropractor every so often but it’s expensive if it’s a long course).

@Bjarnum you are constantly in my thoughts, I hope everything is going as well as it possibly can (😘 for Freya).

I was doing so well until yesterday. The weather was dreadful here so we couldn’t get out for a dog walk. I made sultana scones and then cheese scones and then tried them out all bloody night. This sent me on a downward spiral for chocolate, crisps, you name it ☹️🥴. I would have thought after all this time I would be over my mega binges but no, they still come back to bite me.

SW: 12sts 2.75 lbs
CW: 11sts 5lbs
TW: 10sts (in about 5 years by the look of it)

Lost 1.1/2lbs towards my 10lbs in 10 weeks but I’m cross with myself because I did so well for six days and royally messed up on the seventh.

Good luck everyone. I hope you’ve lost at least the 1 lb we need for week 1.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 14/02/2022 09:15

@MrsWidgerysLodger

SW 12st 8lb CW 12st 6lb TW 11st

Somehow I've lost 2lb and a bit! CW now 12st 3.5lb. god knows how as I've had a shit weekend food wise. Migraine for me plus a poorly smallhuman has equalled lots of easily grab-able but not particularly healthy food.

gonelululemoncrazy · 14/02/2022 10:11

H everyone. @Bjarnum my thoughts are with you. Flowers

@MrsWidgerysLodge well done. I've had yet another week of no gain/no loss and struggled to do any exercise. I have a couple of days off for half-term, but DS2 is still testing +ive which means we can't go out and about as much as I would like. As it's Valentines day I'm going to indulge in chocolate today, but promise to be good for the rest of the week.

poorpaws · 15/02/2022 08:33

Hi everyone

@MrsWidgerysLodger that’s brilliant! A great loss without trying hard, that’s got to be a win-win. I’m not sure it can be done two weeks running so be careful but it’s a nice chunk off your 10 lbs challenge. 😀

@gonelululemoncrazy no gain is a win in my eyes. I hope you get back on it after your Valentines chocolate (drools). I didn’t allow myself any after my binge the previous day.

I did ok yesterday food wise and managed a 10,000 step dog walk. I need to really try this week.

One of my dogs wasn’t well last night and wouldn’t eat. Where we walk, off lead, there are some caravans/chalets high up from the lane and one of the owners throw all leftovers/everything through the door and down the bank. It’s there that my dogs feast if I’m not paying attention and the little devils double-back when I’m not watching. I think my middle dog ate something dodgey. She’s very sorry for herself.

Lots of rain and high winds here today so the walk will be shorter and quite unpleasant so will not earn my 10,000 steps.

I hope everyone has a nice day.

OP posts:
ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 16/02/2022 23:24

How is your dog doing @poorpaws?

Half term has exhausted me... roll on school time again!

poorpaws · 17/02/2022 08:24

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl. She’s much better thank you. She was less lethargic yesterday but still isn’t eating very much, I’m hoping today she will be totally back to being herself, I’ve been so worried.

It’s our half term next week so feel lucky yours is nearly over 😀
How’s your 10lbs in 10 weeks going?

I’ve been doing ok so far this week with food (hopefully no binge this weekend 🤞🏻). The exercise hasn’t been quite so good as I seem to have lost all energy after my virus. I feel ok but am totally worn out all the time and even the simplest of jobs is a huge chore.

I went to the doctors yesterday for a shingles jab (nurse rang me and recommended it as I had shingles about three years ago). I had strict instructions to wear a mask, not to be more than 5 mins early etc, fair enough. She kept me waiting just a widge under 30 mins (in with nurse no more than 2 mins) and my poor partner was outside in the pouring rain with 3 dogs and nowhere to sit or shelter, poor man.

I hope everyone is doing well and this 10 lb challenge is going well for all of you.

OP posts:
ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 17/02/2022 12:00

Glad to hear your dog is doing better @poorpaws - worrying times.

What a pain about your shingles appointment though! Our GP is the same, you still can't go in unless you have an appointment - which is understandable but there's nowhere to wait apart from outside and be completely open to the elements, no cover at all. If you wait in your car you wouldn't hear them shouting your name! I had to call today and book my smear test (joy of joys, eh) - took me 20 minutes on hold and that was after getting the 'line busy' message a few times...

DS1 has seen a fun run nearby in May that he really wants to do. I'll be back to my running once these storms have passed otherwise he'll be way faster than me Grin

Hope you are all doing well @MrsWidgerysLodger @suzyscat @gonelululemoncrazy

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 18/02/2022 08:58

Hope everyone has battened down the hatches in readiness for the storm (we have a red weather alert from 10am!) - stay safe all! (And pets!)

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 19/02/2022 23:13

How is everybody doing? I've booked a health assessment to get an idea of how much I have to improve to be reasonably healthy Blush I've given up on the GP for now as they haven't followed up on any of the last issues I've contacted them about, have booked a private appointment via a Groupon deal instead. The downside is that I have to wait a month for the next appointment in my area, the upside is that I had a lot of Groupon credits to use anyway so it's only cost me about £20 Grin

In other unexciting news on my weight loss journey, I've used some M&S vouchers to buy myself a new (properly fitting!) bra. I'm so fed up of looking like a sack of spuds, hopefully this will help a bit!

poorpaws · 20/02/2022 09:16

Sadly this is/was a tree on my dog walk, a beautiful large eucalyptus.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 20/02/2022 09:34

Blimey @poorpaws Shock Shock

I saw a few fences down and a small tree uprooted on my run/ walk this morning, nothing to rival that!!

poorpaws · 21/02/2022 08:16

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I’m so impressed with your efforts to get healthier and look better (my bras are ancient), I really should take a leaf out of your book.

I’m so fed up at the moment because tiles have come off our roof and smashed the patio up. We’ve got holes in the decking where large tiles have smashed into it. It’s not only the cash to fix the roof (which will be bad enough) but now we find the decking composite we used only two years ago is actually rubbish and has the worst reviews ever. It has a 10 year guarantee but no-one can get any refunds, it’s all a rip off. We’ve now got to start again because it’s not worth trying to repair it.

SW: 12st 2.75
CW: 11st 3.5
GW: 10st I’ll probably be dead before this happens

Another 1.5 lbs off for my Easter goal, that’s 3 lbs off my10 lbs target. It would be so nice to actually reach my target this time.

Good luck with the weigh-ins everyone.

OP posts:
suzyscat · 22/02/2022 11:19

Hello ladies, I realised I never sent my last half written message Hmmthen went awol (and off the rails) in half term but was staying with people so not really in control of cooking and eating and also wanted to have fun.

I'm definitely on for 10 in 10 challenge alfhough my weigh in last week had me squarely at my starting weight again Confused

The scales were broken today so goodness knows where I'm at, though I'm hoping as it was my time of the month maybe that added a stone a lb or two extra last time but probably wishful thinking Grin

Hope everyone and their families and pets are doing okay Thanks

MrsWidgerysLodger · 22/02/2022 15:45

Short and sweet from me today. Still on track but I DO NOT recommend Norovirus as a weight loss tool. I'll be in a horrible heap in bed if anyone needs me.

gonelululemoncrazy · 22/02/2022 17:41

Hi all. Still struggling to keep on track, largely due to having an incredibly stressful ongoing situation at work with a member of my team. Essentially she has never really accepted me as her manager, is quite a bit older than me, and seems to try and undermine me at every opportunity. My boss and HR are now involved as she has raised a complaint about me after I gave her some feedback relating to her behaviour. All this just fuels my natural tendency to demolish packs of biscuits.
Did manage a run today which helped a bit with the stress.

@MrsWidgerysLodger hope you feel better soon, Norovirus is really nasty.Flowers

@poorpaws still no loss or no gain (so a win then Smile).

Bjarnum · 23/02/2022 22:36

Hi all, Just popping in to update. Freya had her op yesterday and is really fuming with us. No waggy tail on collection, filthy looks all the way home and serious side eye on the sofa all night. The vet says he has removed all the growth and sent it off to the lab. My cough is still with me - lung xray tomorrow and a blood test to check liver/kidney function. We lost some tiles too - and some panes from the greenhouse. SIL is still alive but very ill. And to top it all two of our DC have really fallen out . Diet is the last thing on my mind! But I am very impressed at how well you all seem to be doing.Thank you for all your good wishes. paws the past few months have not gone well for either of us, have they? The awful bug, sick dog and now storm damage ... I will be back ...

suzyscat · 24/02/2022 08:37

@Bjarnum thanks for the update things really do come all at once don't they!.

@MrsWidgerysLodger nooo norovirus is awful. My aunt went to a party recently and all the guests got norovirus followed by covid Confused

Haven't gotten near the scales yet and have cracked out some Easter eggs. Was doing great at not eating after dinner but have lost it rather this week but very tired and drained. Today I will do better (I hope Blush)

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 26/02/2022 23:39

Hope you're feeling better @MrsWidgerysLodger?

Lovely to hear from you @Bjarnum, I hope Freya continues to get better and that your SIL is as comfortable as she can be. As for your quarrelling DC, oh dear, that definitely doesn't help your general stress levels!

Hope everything is ok with you @poorpaws?

@suzyscat I had to avoid a very large Easter egg display in the supermarket the other night... otherwise I too would have scoffed a few Blush
