Hello & Welcome

September has come around so quickly; children getting ready to return to school and Christmas around the corner (116 days). A time when summer is starting to fade and an autumn chill is in the air. Changing seasons is a natural transition that we echo in our day to day live’s. I for one look forward to cosy nights by the fire and mentally prepping for the coming festive season.

A part of my Christmas prep also includes dropping a few extra lbs ‘to make room’ for a little foody extravagance… and a Baileys or two 😬

Carrying on from August’s Thread this is a space for those of us who enjoy healthy eating, exercising and feeling motivated to reach (or maintain) a healthy weight/bmi. The members of these threads are inspirational, supportive and happy to share their progress (the ups and the downs).

We all know that if we eat right, get outside & move more your mental health will reap the rewards. Better mental health = better choices. It becomes a healthy cycle.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. Personally, I rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I try to not overload on carbs etc, include a protein source with most meals and aim to glug enough water. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding. We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. I’ve weighed daily at times and weekly at other times. Do what works for you.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on these threads. We are in this together.

Jump right in! If you’re not too shy, post a bit about yourself 😊. How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

You’ll be glad you got on board this time next month 😊

It’s early over here and lady weigh in of the month. I’m down a solid 2.8 lbs. Just .2 off a 3 lb loss for the month.
So 146.3 this am.
But weight I’ve lost and gained a few times too many.
I need to break out of the 140’s.
Again anxious about travel weight gain :(

SunshineCake1 · 30/09/2021 17:39

Try not to stress @fallfallfall. Enjoy the trip and just be mindful but don't miss out.

DS2 has covid Sad.

I'm determined to get up tomorrow.

buzzofthebumblebee · 30/09/2021 17:44

Thank you everyone, so kind.

To be totally honest I'm not too surprised about the loss, as before I would be consuming (comfort eating) 1000+ calories a day in snacks and wine, over and above my proper food. Think whole sharing bags of crisps to myself, and 2 large glasses wine, or whole bars chocolates, packets of biscuits etc etc. So I don't see it as a proper loss, more an adjustment to normal eating. Does that make sense ?? The hard work is yet to come! But as I said up thread, I feel in a good frame of mind (emotionally) to stick at it and to make myself feel good other than through the short-term taste euphoria of fast food. Onwards to October.

TheRealHousewife · 30/09/2021 17:44

Grrrrrrrrrr …. I was just adding the final link to October’s thread and my stupid f iPad crashed. Pardon my french but that’s so frustrating. Need to go and do evening meal now and then I’ll borrow DPs laptop to do it.

Be back soon … and breathe 🧘‍♀️ 😊

Hi everyone not posted for a while been so unmotivated. I checked my weight this morning and put a 1b on. At least I am still under 13 stone. Prober yweigh in on Sunday. Determined to lose stone before the new year. What's everyone's else goals?

buzzofthebumblebee · 30/09/2021 17:44

Oh no @SunshineCake1 ....

SunshineCake1 · 30/09/2021 17:50

Hi @Loveprosecca. My goal is to get out of bed tomorrow. I need to get back on top of IF too. My goal weight is ten stone and I'm currently 11 1 I think. I was 14 stone two years ago.

I know @buzzofthebumblebee. I'm devastated. He tested negative Monday night. Went shopping with his brother and dad. Woke up Tuesday morning feeling off and now this.

I'm going to try and get up tomorrow.

Loveprosecca · 30/09/2021 18:34

@SunshineCake1 oh no sorry to hear about DS2. How is he feeling today?

SunshineCake1 · 30/09/2021 18:45

He feels grotty Sad. @Loveprosecca

swampytiggaa · 30/09/2021 18:52

@SunshineCake1 you are having a shit run at the minute aren’t you? Sending love and hugs 🤗

@Graphista that’s a really good loss over the month though 😊 and you sound much brighter than recent days so hopefully you are on the mend 👍

@fallfallfall I hope you enjoy your trip away 😊

@TheRealHousewife thank you for keeping these threads going 😊 I know I’m a fairly recent member but I find them very helpful 💐💐💐

Anyway me. Looks like I’ll end the month about 1lb up from the first. Activity levels haven’t been brilliant food has been vaguely crap and now I’m eating loads ready for my marathon on Sunday 😱 I’m walking it rather than running due to circumstances beyond my control but still it’s 26.2 miles 😱 really need to up my water intake over the next few days and decide what snacks I’m taking with me. Route is carefully planned to include toilets and refreshment stops if needed 👍

SunshineCake1 · 30/09/2021 19:08

Thanks @swampytiggaa. I'm really hoping to get back to normal soon and hopefully DS2 won't be too poorly. I'm waiting on DS1's covid test result. Mine was negative thankfully.

Good Morning All

Overall for September I’ve lost 3.2lbs. I’m thrilled as I’m a very slow loser. I’d love to match that in October but will be happy with a firm 2lbs.

Menu
Meal 1 - Red Pepper Omelette
Meal 2 - Chicken in cream & white wine sauce. Carrots. Peas. Cauli Rice.

Well done Everyone!

Morning everyone! Much better week this week, probably because we've not left the house at all...why am I such a home-body?!?

Anyway, I've lost another kg in a week. So happy as I started off losing barely anything so I think last 2 week's loss has really motivated me to say no to naughty food. Never managed to diet successfully in the past so this has really given me a boost!

SW: 3rd Sept - 85.5kg
LW: 29 Sept - 84.2kg
CW - 83kg
GW- 68kg

@TheRealHousewife - I am normally the same....apart from last week I normally average around 0.5lb loss per week. Slow and steady is good though so you're doing brilliantly. I'm already nervous about putting last week's loss straight back on.

Hope everyone else is ok

Ladies...i wanted some opinions on coke zero too. This is currently my "treat" as it's sweet but with no cal's or sugar but should I be avoiding? And what about coffees? I have several cups of decaf coffee with milk but no sugar a day...will this really add up? I don't track how much milk I'm adding to each coffee (for calorie counting) as it's such a faff.
